  • SAPNotes search plugin for Mozilla Firefox

    If you have Mozilla Firefox and have installed a SAP Passport for Service Marketplace access, then the following may be helpful.  Create a file called "SAPNotes.src" in <b>C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins</b> and give it the following content:
    <SEARCH
       version = "7.1"
       name = "SAP Notes"
       description = "SAP Notes"
       method = "GET"
       action = "http://service.sap.com/~form/handler"
       searchForm = "http://service.sap.com/notes"
    >
    <INPUT NAME="_NNUM" user>
    <INPUT NAME="_APP" VALUE="01100107900000000342">
    <INPUT NAME="_EVENT" VALUE="REDIR">
    <INPUT NAME="_NLANG" VALUE="E">
    </SEARCH>
    When you restart Firefox, you will now have the ability to quickly get any SAP Note by entering the note number into the Search dialog (use the dropdown to select <i>SAP Notes</i> first).
    Enjoy,
    Darren

    I'd heard about that by word of mouth, but couldn't find it... thanks (it was certainly the inspiration for my post).  Whether you use a search plugin (my code) or Dagfinn's version depends on whether you prefer to use the address field or the search field - purely a user interface decision...

  • Quicktime Plugin crashes on Firefox 11&12. No problem with IE 8

    I keep getting notifications that my quicktime plugin has crashed. I have the latest Quicktime Edition 7.7.1 and Firefox 12 installed. This does not happen with IE 8. OS is Windows XP Pro SP3.
    This is the website on which Firefox plugin crashes for me consistently. http://www.janalea.com/. It's my realtors website.

    Quicktime plugin is to be honest a piece of crap, slows down Firefox and causes problems like this. As Quicktime is maintained by Apple, you should complain to them.
    Personally, I recommend you disable it completely and install [http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ VLC media player], it has a plugin component that you can use instead.

  • Fresh Player Plugin and Mozilla Firefox Aurora

    From the AUR I've installed the PepperFlash plugin and the Fresh Player plugin. Then in Firefox Aurora, installed from heftig's(sp?) user repo, nothing works. As expected `about:plugins` lists two insances of Shockwave Flash, though the first instance is listed as version 13.1.2.3, not 14.0.0.125 as I would have expected.
    Does the original repo version of the Flash Player plugin need to be uninstalled? Edit: I've tried uninstalling flashplayer, still no flash loading, also any pages requiring flash are extremely slow. Something buggy is going on me thinks.

    Don't worry about that, that value is hardcoded in the freshplugin wrapper: https://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerp … ntry.c#L53
    For my experiences, I've had mixed results with this plugin/wrapper. It works quite well on a radeon-powered desktop with firefox-esr-bin, but is next-to unusable on a much more powerful nvidia-powered desktop with iceweasel. Unfortunately I've not had time to diagnose where the problem lies, but it's worth mentioning that this project is very much in alpha state, and is undergoing rapid development. For this reason, I'd recommend that you use the -git version of the wrapper over the "stable" version, and rebuild regularly.

  • Flash Plugin not getting installed for Mozilla Firefox

    Hello There!
    I am webmaster of Blogingrace. I have been using mozilla firefox browser and it has asked to update my flash player with its recent version. As soon as I click on the link a setup file of 989 Mb is getting downloaded and when I click install it is saying intialization failed. I tried to download again and the same message is repeated.
    kindly tell a way to update flash plugin for my mozilla firefox browser

    I am facing a similar issue with the flash content on my website (appnina.com). Any flash content is not displayed on my website.
    The problem is because of using flash plugin in Mozilla Firefox (21.0 - updated). The flash plugin does not get activated by default. That is whenever opening the site, the flash content is not displayed. It asks to click the activate button. This activation should be one time, however it always asks to do so whenever opening the site.
    I just checked and found that this flash problem is not specific to my website but in general (youtube as well).
    Let me put the screen shot of the same.
    Any permanent solution to this. Let me check if I can delete the old plguin and download it again to solve this issue.
    The problem seems to be because of compatibility problem of firefox with flash.

  • Mozilla firefox plugin containers stopped working.

    Hi, I was just checking the battery on my laptop and a message from my pc told me my ' Mozilla Firefox Plugin Container' had stopped working a few days back, but i hadnt noticed any difference, so im just trying to work out what it's trying to tell me because i cant see any noticable difference , it says this :
    Address a problem with Mozilla Firefox plugin-container
    Mozilla Firefox plugin-container has stopped working properly.
    For information about possible solutions to this problem, go online to the following Knowledge Base (KB) article:

    About Knowledge Base articles
    It hasnt really caused any concern but I would rather sort it out than leave it thanks anyone got an answer please help!

    I had the same type of failure. It was caused by a FF upgrade from V4 to V9.1. Dearing 1955 did not say what version caused the problem. My USB ports started acting up. I could not install the Webcam that was installed before. The HP Scanner of my OJ 8500 stopped working (USB). Did get it to work via Wireless. Removing FF did not clear the problem. Believe I have infected USB driver now.

  • Web proxy settings not getting affected for Mozilla Firefox

    I have an ISA Server setup as a web proxy in our domain environment . I have changed the proxy settings to the address of the new web proxy server for all the users in the domain by using group policy . Even the connection tab on the internet options have been disabled so that users wont be able to view the settings thereby preventing them from changing the proxy settings . It has been completed successfully . But when we tested the settings with various browsers by trying to access the blocked sites in our environment such as Facebook and other social networking sites , IE , Safari and Chrome seems to be detecting the proxy in the network and was blocking it but Mozilla Firefox and Opera does not seem to be affected by the change and users could have unrestricted access to the web . Please help me with how to configure mozilla firefox proxy settings using group policy edit .

  • Quicktime plugin in FireFox 3.6 not viewing TIFFs?

    I just upgraded to FF 3.6, and now all of the sudden neither my own TIFF viewing plugin (AccelViewTIFF) nor Quicktime will view TIFF files.
    has anyone experienced this?

    I am having the similar problem, and have duplicated it on TWO computers, both pentiums w/ Windows OS, but otherwise very different as one is my home machine which I manage, and the second is a company-provided laptop managed by the IT department.
    General Config: Firefox 3.5.8, QuickTime PlugIn 7.6.5
    General Prob Description: On certain websites, embedded tiff images are not displayed. Briefly shown is the blue Q, but then blank.
    Details: This began when trying to view images at the US Patent Office website (e.g. http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=% 2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6040531.PN.&OS=PN/6040531&RS=PN/6 040531 then click on images). I went through the process of installing QuickTime, and set it to be the preferred plugin for tiff images within FF (under MIME of the 'browser' tab). I was able to display the image on the mozilla tiff test page ( http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/testpages/tiff.html ), but still had the same problem at the patent office.
    Upon researching on the Web, I found several interesting pieces of information (but no solution). These were
    1. Others having same/similar problem that posted to the Mozilla support sight:
    a) Response suggested using alternatiff ( http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-viewforum_thread.php?locale=si&commentsparentId=504396&forumId=1 )
    b) No response with a solution ( https://support.mozilla.com/tiki-viewforum_thread.php?comments_offset=0&comments_threadId=0&comments_parentId=19528&c omments_threshold=0&thread_sort_mode=commentDate_asc&forumId=1&timecontrol=172800 )
    2. Again from the mozilla support page, another had the same problem, coincidentally at the USPTO web site that I first saw the problem ( https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/forum/1/521626?s=tiff%20browser ). The solution was to use another plug-in (AlternaTIFF - www.alternatiff.com ). I did not try this, thinking that someone at Apple will catch thread (and note the number of occurrences of the issues) and offer some response, hopefully a solution.
    3. On the web, I again ran across the same problem and again relating to accessing images at the USPTO ( http://inventblog.com/business-and-tech-tips/quicktime-tif-and-uspto-images.html ). I don't think this guy likes Apple, and basically the proposed solution was again to disable QT and use something else. However, it lead to another site with additional insight.
    4. The link to the site references in #3 didn't work, but I was able to find it via search ( http://www.sos.idaho.gov/tiffhelp.htm ). The point made there that was informative: "If you have QuickTime installed, you will have to disable the QuickTime plugin for TIFF's. While QuickTime does support the TIFF file format it does not support compression formats used in TIFFs. Furthermore, QuickTime will only display the first page of a multipage TIFF document." However the link to Apple's support page where there may have been some help did not work. Note again, this site suggest uninstalling QuickTime.
    5. The Idaho site had a link to some web site at Microsoft that looked promising, but alas couldn't find it. However, I found another "test sight" that will duplicate the problem of brief blue Q, then a blank image ( http://www.secondchair.com/Help/HelpTIFF.html ).
    Finally, I forgot to mention what the USPTO site had to say about tiff files ( http://www.uspto.gov/faq/plugins/tiff.jsp ). Now this sounds like old info based on the version, but QuickTime is not suggested for windows.
    And one last piece of info . . . I can save the image to disk, and open with QuickTime (not in FF as a plug-in, but as the stand-alone app). I can also do a "save as" in FF for a page with a non-displaying tiff, and when I open the save file the image displays properly.
    OK, Apple . . . time to step up. Please don't give me a "try this" or "did you do that?" or "reinstall ....." as I've done more than enough than I should have to . . . and instead will simply get alternatiff, or something else. While this may not be a QT issue, it does seem to be related to how QT works in FF (and perhaps other browsers and applications).

    You are unfortunately out of luck with an Intel Mac and OS X 10.4.11<br />
    Best would be to update to OS X 10.5 or later if you want to use Firefox 4 and later versions (current is 8.0).<br />
    There is a Firefox 8 compatible third-party version TenFourFox from www.floodgap.com for a PowerPC Mac, but no alternative for an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.
    Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

    plugin failure, went to plugin updater @ firefox .that site said i needed to download both a 32bit and a 64 bit since i was using a 32bit browser(mozilla/firefox).is there a 64bit browser?

    You need 32-bit plugins for a 32-bit browser. Which plugins do you think you need? You seem to have a good number of plugins that Firefox recognizes and can use. Those plugins wouldn't appear in ''More System Details...'' if they weren't compatible with Firefox.
