Deleted Safari, want to re-install

It appears that Safari has been deleted from my Macbook Pro. I have since then been using Firefox. I inserted the Mac OSX CDs that came with my Laptop to see if Safari was included on it as an install package, but it appears not.
Where can I get myself another copy/installation of Safari?
I have Max OS X 10.4.9

Hi,
Here's a tutorial from Mac Fixit on this very issue. I have not posted a link because it's a subscription service, so I'm putting here instead.
Good luck!
Re-installing individual Apple applications from Mac OS X media (Safari, Mail.app, etc.)
In many cases, re-installing applications from original media or download packages can resolve problems with launching, improper behavior and other issues that are caused by file corruption or accidental user-deletion of important components.
Re-installing Safari, iChat, and other Apple programs that are not available as individual downloads is a bit more involved than the average application, but can be accomplished via one of two methods:
The first is outlined in our tutorial "Re-installing Apple applications from a Mac OS X disc/update package using Pacifist." Pacifist is a shareware utility which will extract the application file(s) in question from the various .pkg containers on the Mac OS X installer disc and put them back in the proper location on your current Mac OS X startup volume. This option works for most versions of Mac OS X (Jaguar, Panther, Tiger).
The second is detailed in Apple Knowledge base article #301229, and requires using the "Optional Installs.mpkg" package located on the Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) Install DVD. Once you've launched this installer package, you can click the small disclosure triangle next to "Applications" to show a list of available programs, including:
Address Book 4.0
iCal 2.0
iChat 3.0
iTunes 4.7.1
Mail 2.0
Oxford Dictionaries
Safari 2.0
X11
Just check the box next to the application(s) you'd like to install, then click "OK" then "Install."
Restart, then check for persistence of whatever issue you were having with the application.
Here's the Pacifist Tutorial -
Mini-Tutorial: Re-installing Apple applications from a Mac OS X disc/update package using Pacifist
For various reasons, applications originally installed by the Mac OS X Installer disc (DVD or CD) -- Mail.app, Activity Viewer, etc. -- can become unusable. This can occur due to user deletion, corruption of drive sectors, and other problems. Unfortunately, some of these applications are not available as standalone downloads.
However, virtually all of these applications can be restored with the use of a shareware utility called Pacifist, which will extract the application file(s) in question from the various .pkg containers on the Mac OS X installer disc and put them back in the proper location on your current Mac OS X startup volume.
The process is as follows:
Download and install Pacifist, a US $20 shareware utility
Insert your Mac OS X Installation CD or DVD
Launch Pacifist
Click the button "Open Mac OS X Install packages" (this option will be grayed out and inaccessible if no Mac OS X disc is present)
Simply select the desired, currently missing or unusable application and click "Install"
In some cases, a newer version of the desired application than the one your Mac OS X installation disc may be available in a Mac OS X incremental updater package.
In this situation, use the following process
Download the desired Mac OS X incremental installer .pkg from Apple's Software Download page (usually the latest release for your version of Mac OS X -- 10.3.9 for Mac OS X 10.3.x, 10.4.1 for Mac OS X 10.4.x, etc.) and mount its disk image (.dmg) by double-clicking
Launch Pacifist
Click the "Open Package" button and select the incremental updater package (e.g. MacOSXUpdate10.4.1.pkg)
You will be shown a list of the package's (.pkg) contents. Select the desired application and click the "Install" button. Note that some of the listed applications may not complete -- they only include updates to specific components or plug-ins, not the entire application itself. In these cases you will have to use an older incremental update package from the Apple software download page, or the full Mac OS X install CD as mentioned above.

  • Deleted Safari and Can't Re-Install?

I deleted Safari because I no longer used it. I began using Firefox, and now regret it. My wife has the CD in Austin, and I am in Lubbock going to school this summer. Is there a way to install Safari without the CD? I have tried downloading it from the Apple website, but it will not allow me to for some reason?
    Thanks

You can download a demo copy of Pacifist here. Don't worry, it's not a feature-limited evaluation copy. It will do what you want it to do.
Although strictly speaking, you require your Mac OS X Tiger DVD to install a full copy of Safari, I have found that the version offered up by any of the Mac OS X Combo Updates seem to suffice, at least as far as day-to-day functionality's concerned. If what you're looking for is a stop-gap, it might be an option you'd want to explore. Proceed with caution.

  • I accidently deleted Safari, so have installed again from my disc. Since then it randomly crashes. Help neededplease

I accidently deleted Safari, and have had to install again from the disc. Since then it just crashes randomly. After reading other posts,  I have created another account to see if it still does it, but it still crashes. Any suggestions please?

Did you run Software update yet?
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

    HI ..
The only way to reinstall OS X on a Mac already running v10.9 is to use OS X Recovery.
Starrtup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you should be able to access the built in utilities to repair the startup disk and reinstall OS X.
Please read >  OS X Recovery

  • Deleted Safari... now it won't let me re install??

I deleted Safari and all it's preferences / metadata and then downloaded Safari 3.1.1 from the Apple site. I repaired permissions and ran the install package but when I try and install Safari on the hard drive the hard drive has a red exclamation mark and says
"You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer".
Thing is that I'm running 10.5.3.
    Any ideas?? I'm stuck.
    Many thanks

On the Mac you've inserted the MacBook Air installer disk into, you should also assure you've turned on DVD/CD sharing in System Preferences. Do this:
    1. Open System Preferences on the Mac with the DVD drive
    2. Select the Sharing Control Panel.
    3. Turn on DVD or CD Sharing by clicking in the box on the left
    4. Insert the MacBook Air installer disk into the DVD drive
    5. Go to the MacBook Air and open a Finder window
    6. In the Sidebar on the left side of the window, click on Remote Disc
    7. The Disc will mount on the MacBook Air's Desktop (you may need to click on an Authorize button on the Mac with the DVD drive)
    8. Once authorized, the contents of the mounted installer disk will appear in the window. Click on the Optional Installs folder and double click on the Optional Installs package.
    9. Once the installer starts, click on the triangle to the left of Applications, then check the Safari box below.
    10. Click on Continue.
When the installation is finished, don't forget to turn off DVD Sharing on the Mac with the DVD drive. Also, you'll have to download the Combo Updater at Apple to assure all the needed Safari components are reinstalled. Get that at:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/
You could try just the Safari 3.1.1 updater, but if you manually deleted some key components, that may not be enough.
    Good luck.

The new machine has Mavericks which is fine. And I will leave it as is. I don’t want anything from my old machine other than 2 apps that I will need on the new one. I want to be able to install those apps that I bought from the App Store onto my new computer. I assume Apple doesn’t want me to have the apps installed on 2 machines at the same time so I wonder if just uninstalling them from my old machine will release them for re-install on the new one.

  • Want to re-install Safari 4

I want to re-install Safari 4 but when I try to re-install it, it says: "You cannot install Safari Public Beta on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or newer."
not sure what's going on here.

    Hi,
Which version of Mac OS X are you running? And which version of Safari 4 beta do you currently have installed? The latest version of Safari 4 beta (x528.17) requires OS X 10.5.7 or 10.4.11. Be sure you've downloaded the right installer for your OS X version. There are separate installers for Leopard and Tiger.

Since Safari for Windows is a little old now. some things may no longer display properly if the website creator moves to newer technologies not supported on older browsers.  You are likely to see this in more and more sites as they update themselves.
I suggest using a more modern browser.

You are welcome! I played with the 928 in a Verizon store and really liked it. Besides the great camera and Nokia Maps, I'd be pretty excited about Nokia Music, too. As I understand it, this free app lets you create playlists from its entire music library, which can be stored on your device to listen to any time.
There are a few members on the WP board who are really knowledgeable about Nokia and WP, so let us know if you have more questions.
