Deleted SMS

All my SMS'es were deleted ...
( No backup yet :-( so that mean sthey are truly gone ...)
Found Article ID: KB25784 but it's not really the same.
The SMS'es aren't even draft, they are simply wiped out ....
I wonder how this could have happened?
A result of phone being on and battery power was over and out ??
Normally when that happened: date was set to date of power off.
Now when powering up again: date was November 2045 !!
Any ideas on how to avoid this from happening (apart from making the (obvious) backup!) ???

In addition to John, always have a periodic back up of your device data in your computer. You also use BlackBerry Protect application (which is free and available in App World) that can back you device data like, contacts, Tasks, Memo, SMS texts etc.
You can get the User Guide from - http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/31983/

  • How can i retrieve deleted sms from my iphone

how can i retrieve deleted sms from my iphone 4s?

If you backed up your iPhone after the texts were made and before you deleted them you can Restore them in iTunes from your backup.

How do I delete SMS text from the hard drive of a iPhone 3GS

If you want to delete the messages from within the text app, swipe over the name or number of the sender and hit delete.
If you are afraid that someone will be able to restore them by ckecking your HD, you will have to set up the phone "as new device" or choose "erase all content and Settings" in Settings/General/Reset. But this willerase the whole phone, not only your text messages.

  • How do I recover mistakenly deleted SMS from iPhone5

I have lost SMS s from one of my contacts. How do I recover all the SMS lost from Iphone5

Do you make iTunes backups of the iOS device?
The deleted SMS's can be extracted from the backup via various apps. You want to avoid backing up until you recover them, otherwise iTunes will overwrite the backup. It would help to know what OS you use for iTunes.
If you don't keep iTunes backups you would need to look at file recovery which isn't trivial & may not be possible on iOS.

  • Mass Delete SMS Messages in iOS4

I am a sysadmin and I get TONS of SMS messages and I need to purge them on a regular basis to keep sane.
In the past, I had been using PhoneView to mass delete SMS messages from my iPhone, but Apple has apparently changed how the SMS messages are managed and PhoneView has permanently discontinued this functionality.
Is anyone aware of any products or methods for mass deleting SMS messages in iOS4?

Same problem here. I have over 1000 msgs that need deleting. Been waiting years for this "obvious" feature. I can't believe they didn't fix this in iOS4. So, love to hear if there's an app for that.

  • Retrieving deleted sms from sms.db

I know there has been many questions related to retrieving deleted SMS. I apologize for redundancy but wanted to clarify what I have read on other internet sites. I understand SMS are not kept on the iphone sim card. I understand that if I both exchanged a conversation and deleted the conversation since my last sync, that SMS conversation will not be in the backup file and cannot be restored. From what I have seen on these forum's is that the conversation is gone and there is no way to retrieve it.
While searching on other sites, information was discussed about the deleted texts being stored in the /var/root/library/sms/sms.db despite being deleted previously. Also what I read was the only way to get to this database was to "jailbreak" your iphone, and is accessible only through a third party app, which I have no intention of doing.
My question is #1, is this information accurate that the sms are stored in the database despite being deleted?
#2 are there third party apps that allow users to access the iphone file system to get to this sms database that do not include this jailbreaking thing?
I do not want to do anything to the phone that would negate my warranty or go against what apple wants us to do, but if there are stored deleted sms on some database on the phone, and a way to get to them, i'd greatly appreciate any information on how to gain access. Thanks

    Middle1,
Text messages saved to the iPhone backup:
iPhone and iPod touch: About backups
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
When you sync your iPhone and changes are detected for the specified backup content on the iPhone, iTunes will replace the older backup with the new one retrieved from the iPhone at that moment. If you want a text message to be included in the backup, it's not advisable to delete it from the iPhone.
Personally when I wish to save an SMS, I find it more reliable to take a screen capture of it:
Topic : iPhone: How to take a screen shot
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1634964
Beyond that, you can try searching the App Store for other apps that may provide additional functionality. I personally am not aware of any.
    Hope this helps,
    Raleigh

  • Recover accidentally deleted SMS conversation

    Hi there,
Is there a way to recover an accidentally 'cleared' SMS conversation? The phone has not been synced since the deletion, but was synced prior, so, with any luck, the conversation should have been backed up to the computer.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Rob

If this deleted SMS conversation was exchanged prior to the last sync, you need to restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iTunes backup, which should restore all SMS that was exchanged prior to the last sync and iPhone backup.

  • Is it possible to have deleted SMS' go to the 'Deleted SMS' folder?

I'm looking at my BB Curve 5.0 and I see View Folder under an SMS drop down. I click it and it takes me to Select Folder: SMS Folders. There's a SMS Deleted folder and I want to know if it can be used as it's labeled... To store deleted SMS'? Thanks in advance.

I don't know why that folder is there. I don't have one.
But FYI, "deleted" is deleted on the BlackBerry, there is no "trash can" folder to which you can return and undelete.

I'm having same problem with my iPhone 4.  Even after restoring twice.   Simple tasks casue the phone to lock up and restart, which, thanks to iOS 7 takes much longer than with iOS 6.
I love my phone, but it is almost unsuable after update.

  • Recover deleted sms while keeping current unsynced sms?

Is there a way to recover deleted sms by recent backup, ALONG with keeping current sms which haven't yet been synced to a backup?
I'd like to note that I am aware of the ability to restore my phone from most recent backup and get deleted sms back. BUT it seems that I will then lose all sms photos etc.. acquired from last backup to now which haven't been synced yet....?
If anyone possibly has an answer or solution for me I'd greatly appreciate it!
    Cheers!!

Well, I'm pretty sure I could at least get it back from the backup of last May, but not really sure I'm not going to loose al the rest though ...

Will erasing all data on my I phone permanently deleted previously deleted SMS and MMS messages on my I phone 5s?

    Nope.
As long as you erase all content and settings/restore your phone to factory, anything on it will not be

  • Deleted SMS recovery

Hi, can i recover deleted SMS from my nokia e63? it's very important for me.
i used to store my SMS on phone memory.
is there any message storage folder in my phone that maybe i can look up for it?
    Thanks

    done. i've found it.
i've done a little trick. Maybe this could help others in future.
    1. i change message store folder from C: to the memory card D:
    2. then connect my e63 to computer using USB data cable.
    3. i choose mass storage as connection type so the memory card will shown as removable USB mass storage.
    4. then from windows explorer, start to search message storage folder (one folder by one folder) in that memory card, don't forget to uncheck the hide hidden file... and hide protected operating system on folders and search option, located in view tab.
    5. in my case, i found it in folder named private. Maybe location may vary on other phone. the message folder was named mail2. It's not in system folder like they mentioned.
WHICH PROGRAMME DID YOU USE TO OPEN THE MESSAGES? I CAN SEE THEY ARE THERE BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH PROGRAMME WILL SHOW ME THE TEXT. I HAVE UNCHECKED TEH HIDDEN FILE TAB BUT COULD NOT LOCATE HIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEMS ON FOLDERS OR THE SEARCH OPTION.... THANK YOU..... PROPER GRATEFUL IF ANYONE CAN HELP.......

  • How i can recover deleted sms from nokia 3603

    Hi
can any one help how to recover deleted sms from nokia 3603. any idea
    please i need your support?
    does Nokia provide this service?
    please hellllllllllp me
    thanks all

Unfortunately it's not possible for the user or nokia to recover deleted messages.
If you haven't been using the phone you could google for data recovery services in your country but they are not cheap. Also the process of recovering the data will most likely destroy the phone. If you've been using the phone for SMS messages then it's most likely too late for specialists to recover them.

  • HT4859 recovery deleted sms from icloud

    Hi
    Two question
First: how can I recover my deleted sms from my iPhone 3Gs?
Second: is there any way to restore from iCloud manually?
    Thanks

You would have to restore your most recent backup to get the messages back, and, no, there is no way to manually restore the messages from your iCloud backup.
