Deleted user but have backup

I deleted my user but have a backup with Retrospect 5.0. I have a backup of the user Library, what do I need from the user Library?

This application will list the file paths of the files in your designated "iTunes Media" folder which are not in iTunes' library. Additionally, you can select a different parent folder and its contents will be compared to the iTunes library. Options to Add a selection of found files to iTunes or move them to the Trash.
Another strange ( but nice ) thing is that I brought a few tracks from itunes recently which definitly were not backed up. I am 99% sure they were lost but now seem to be working fine? Weird ?

How do I recover lost files from a deleted user with no backup?

So I was locked out of my account for no reason giving me an error occurred message. I came on here to get help and the guy who helped me made me delete the account and then make a new one with the same name. The next steps to recover the files that he gave me do not work and he mentions that if it doesn't work to find the files and if I do not have a back up I will never be able to recover those files. If I knew deleting the user would have a chance on loosing all my files I would have never done it! I CAN NOT LOOSE ALL MY FILE. I REALLY NEED ALL MY PHOTOS 10 years of photos. Some of the photos were in an older iphoto which was deleted after Yosemite update. WHY I DON'T KNOW. However most of my photos were in files never connected to iphoto. Can anyone please help me find and recover all my photos. PLEASE, there has to be a way. I appreciate all the help provided.

General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

I have deleted users but the free space is not available what did I do wrong

Not sure what has happened. I deleted a user and it should have freed up about 150gb of hard drive space. It hasn't, when I go to about this make and click on storage it is still showing 100gb of space for movies, and 40gb for other, and 10gb for music. The admin which is all that is left has no files at all, yet it says the hard drive has those files. I can't find them to delet, what am I missing? Is there a hidden folder full of movies and music somewhere? How do I reclaim all that hard drive space.

Deleted all my actual music files but have " backup"

Dear All, I use a mac mini and had all my physical files on an external hard drive which sits on top. I use time machine to back up muy mac mini but not being able to work out how to use that to back up an external drive I made a physical coppy of my music folder to another drive a few months agao.
Well seduced by reports of extra bits and bobs on a program called songbird I installed that and ran it. It deleted all my music. ( googling songbird deleted my songs brings up numerous distraught people who this has happened to. ) Now my artwork, library etc is still on my mac mini bit of course none are now linked to the actual song files any more ( all deleted ) . Thank god I only brought a few songs since I made a copy of all my music files. Its a large file 250GB.
Whats the best way now to get my songs back into itunes ( from my copy on an external hard drive ) with the minimum of fuss and duplicates etc? Delete all my itunes libraries art etc and start again. Something simpler?
Any feedback on hoew to use timemachine to back up an external hardrive holding my music would be appreciated.

Database deleted but have backup set

I have been doing some DRP testing & I have the backup set for a database. The test server has since been rebuilt. I have re-installed Oracle and now want to create a database using my backup set created by EM. Could anyone point me in the right direction to do this?

Formatted HD, but have backup of all the folders and files of Firefox. How can I restore everything, including plugins, bookmarks and saved settings?

I have formatted my computer's HD because of a problem with Windows 7, the thing is that Windows 7 didn't start, so I couldn't backup my Firefox settings, bookmarks, plugins, themes, personas and etc. the right way.
I also don't have a Firefox Sync account.
What I do have are all the folders and files of Firefox, because I just created a new partition and installed Windows 7 again, what I'm having trouble is finding a way (if there's any) to restore everything from my previous installation to the new one.
I have searched for days on both Google and on te Firefox forum with no success, the only questions I found are about restoring a profile, but what I'm trying to do is the same thing that the Firefox add-on " FEBE " does, which is restoring everything to the previous configuration.

I have tried copying, pasting and overwritting from the " .default " folder to my new installation of Firefox (yes, Firefox was closed), but when I opened it again, nothing was restored.
I every single folder and file Firefox ever created on my computer, this includes the installation folder (at Program Files), the profile (.default at AppData) folder, the Mozilla folder (ProgramData) and the Mozilla Firefox folder (also at AppData).
I also had the FEBE add-on installed, but like stated before, unfortunately I couldn't start Windows 7, forcing me to create a new partition to install a new copy of the OS.

TM not on Tiger - but have backups from SL?

I'm in a bit of an odd scenario.
I had a problem with Permissions and Time Machine would not back up at all. The disc required repairing and required a fresh install. I reinstalled OSX 10.4 completely forgetting Time Machine was only shipped with Snow Leopard onwards. At the time, I couldn't find my original SL disc anywhere. So, I did a fresh install of 10.4 (Tiger)
Of course when I expected the setup assistant to ask for a Time Machine back up (which I have on my ext HD) during install, it didn't have that option because - Time Machine only began with Snow Leopard.
Is there any way I can get Tiger to recognise my Back up file or is there a way I can during the install process using the 10.4 discs - or another way - call on my backup to install everything as it was before I had to repair the disc?

TM actually was included in 10.5/Leopard, but not sure that would help.
I'd call Apple & get another SL/10.6 Disc.

No sound on one of my users but have it on the rest of them

My wife and I share my MacPro, and sometime today the sound has stopped workingon her "side", yet if logged in as myself there is sound to spare. I have no problem adjusting the sound levels, w/o hearing anything, and her prefs are identical to mine. I have logged out and in, restarted, repaired prefs and no luck. if anyone has any insight to what might cause this please let me know.

Start here:
In the account that has no sound, drag this file to the desktop:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.soundpref.plist
Where the ~ is your wife's home account in finder.
Then reboot and log back into your wife's account and see if that helps.

Reinstall deleted user

Hello,
I'm trying to reinstall a deleted user account. I followed the directions given through Macintosh Help, which work fine, up until the point where it says
"click on create user", and then "click on Use Existing Folder".
As soon as I click on Create User, there is no option anymore to click on Use Existing Folder, which means, I have created a new user that can't use the old Deleted User account.
I tried to exchange the new folders within the new user with those from the old deleted user, but it only gets very complicated and I don't succeed.
What to do? How can I reinstall a deleted user account, saved as a dmg in the Deleted User's folder.

I managed to open the new account with the same username and password, but this new user couldn't open the Deleted User's account. It says this new user isn't authorized to open it. So I'm not any further with this.

User not found - deleted user

SharePoint 2010. We've migrated domains, one user that was no longer with the company was not migrated to the new domain and was deleted. She had created several subsites that we are no longer able to access, the user not found message.
How can I fix this to access these subsites? The old domain is no longer live

Deleted User's Locked files won't open URGENT!!!

Ok, I had two users on my computer. I trasnfered a file to one of the users accidentally, and then deleted the user. I then realized that I needed a file on that account, and want to get it back. I went into the hard drive, and it says that it is a deleted user, but they are all locked. I went to Get Info and tried to unlock it, and it won't work. I need to get these files ASAP, but nothing seems to work. Please help!

Select the folder in the Finder and open the Info window. Click the padlock icon and authenticate. Give yourself read & write access, then click Apply to Enclosed Items.
