Deleted video content reappearing

After downloading the latest iTunes software,I became aware of something odd. In the TV shows section of my library, some tv shows that I long ago deleted are back, along with some shows that I have never purchased. These are all marked with the cloud icon. Why are they there?

It is a feature of the new iTunes to show the past purchases. As for the ones you didn't purchase, either someone else made use of your account, your memory is failing, or there is a glitch. Perhaps you can inspect your account's purchase history to see when the mystery items were supposed to have been purchased.

Try emptying your browser cache more often. If you are using Safari, from the menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Empty Cache
Try a video on FB. If can't stream Flash content, back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.
If that doesn't help, try deleing Flash cookies >  Flush.app – Flash Cookie Removal Tool For OS X | MacHacks.TV

  • Does anyone know how to delete Videos from an iPhone 5? iphoto won't do it and the phone provides no option.

    Hi,
I keep running out of space on my iphone 5 because there is a bunch of video content on there that I can't get rid of. I imported these videos into iPhoto sometime ago, however I think I probably didn't select to delete them once imported at the time. I've deleted all of the images and vids from the camera roll section however, but the videos are still on the phone under "Videos" where I can view them and select them, but it gives no option to delete them.
It would be great to know if there's a work around that doesn't involve restoring the device.
    Kind Regards,
    Claire

If you synched these videos from your computer the only way to delete them is to sync again with the videos unselected in iTunes.

  • Delete video from iPod touch

So i was experimenting with the iPod touch and I noticed you can delete videos directly from the iPod.
    1) Access Videos
    2) swipe finger from left to right across the name of a single video (groups wont work)
    3) Delete Command Will appear in red
My question is if I press delete does it just delete from the iPod or will it also delete the video from iTunes then next time i sync my iPod touch?

    razorianfly wrote:

Yes but this is useful if your iPod is full and you want to buy some music.
You delete a video to make room, download the music.
When you connect to iTunes it syncs the music from the iPod to iTunes and reloads the video, which you can prevent reloading if you want to by changing the sync settings.

Currently, iMatch is turned off on my computer, as I do not want to upload any more songs. If I turn it on, will it upload all songs that are currently in my library? Is there another way that deleting them one by one?
You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. When you are done switch back to the main iTunes library.

  • Can I safely delete the contents of Content.IE5?

I'm running MacOS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and using Bootcamp 3 (I think) so run Windows XP SP3. My Bootcamp drive is formatted in FAT32, There is a hidden folder in Windows called Content.IE5 where, as I understand it, Internet Explorer stores all of its temporary files. My folder has grown to over 700 MB, and it doesn't get any smaller when I click on the delete temporary files button in IE.
The folder itself is invisible in Windows, but I can see it when I navigate through the Bootcamp drive in Mac OS.
I found two links regarding this problem, one from Microsoft
    http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;301057
    http://www.paessler.com/blog/2009/04/17/prtg-7/how-to-get-rid-of-huge-default-us erlocal-settingstemporary-internet-filescontentie5-folders
As the second link explains, there are severral issues that make it quite difficult to clear the contents of this directory, such as the fact that it belonds to the "default user" and the fact that it is always in use. But as a Mac user running Bootcamp, I have the ability to navigate directly to the directory while running Mac OS and delete the contents manually which otherwise is not possible when running in Windows! My question to the community is should I do it? Or rather, has anyone else attempted this, and if so, did you brake anything in Windows or did it all turn out honky dorey?
    Many thanks.

Thanks. The clip in the events folder is in Apple Intermediate Codec.
A clip from the same video in the Original Movies folder is also in Apple Intermediate Codec but with larger pixel dimensions. I'm assuming this isn't H.264 as you mentioned should be there? See attached images.
The original movie is shot in 1080p AVCHD. But when I imported it into iMovie I did so at the iMovie optimised 920 x 540px as most movies I edit will only ever appear online for the moment (I do archive original HD footage from important footage to the iMovie Camera Archives for future use).

  • HT3209 I got a new apple tv 3 how do upgrade my video content to 1080p

I got a new apple tv 3 how do upgrade my video content to 1080p for the orginal purchased version at 720p?
    Cheers,
    Michael

Yopu can stream it on the AppleTV  from the internet under Movies > Purchased (or Purchases? I can never remember which!) which will bypass what's in iTunes provided AppleTV is configured in Settings for iTunes store for 1080p.
If you want a copy in iTunes, then go to Preferences and change download preference to 1080p.  Then delete the 720p copy and redownload from the cloud (iTunes home page icon > Purchased link on the right).  If you delete the 720p copy and it goes to trash or recycle bin, you can fish it out of there and add to iTunes later if you need a 720p version too (or SD if that gets trashed with the 720p copy).
Note - currently you cannot upgrade SD purchases to HD.  Even for an upgarde fee.

  • Ok to Delete the Contents of the Render Files Folder?

    Hello Hello
I remember from using various PC Video Editing programs that each program established for itself a 'Render Folder', or sometimes called an 'Auxiliary Folder'.
This folder contained the contents of the previously rendered files as they related to a particular DVD burned project. Once rendered, the files were there to sort of help reduce the process time, (render time), required to burn another DVD disc.
In FCE HD, there is also a folder called 'Render Files', and also another folder called 'Audio Render Files'. Naturally the contents of these folders could easily amount to 2 gigs or more depending upon the project size.
Well - (aside from increasing Re-Rendering Time in regard to a new DVD burn), is it safe to delete the contents of the 'Render Folder' in an effort to free up hard drive space?
    Thanx
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
You may have a couple of things mixed up.
In FCE the Render Files and Audio Render Files folders hold the render files produced by FCE. FCE uses those render files when you play the timeline, print to video or export a movie. You can delete them at any time because you can always re-render in FCE. However, you do need to be careful at the point when you export a movie from FCE (for example, to use in iDVD)
If you export to a QT Self-Contained movie, all the media for the movie you export (including rendered video & audio) is incorporated into the resulting QT movie file. Assuming a successful export, you no longer need the FCE render files.
However, if you export to a QT Reference movie, you need to keep the FCE render files available when you import your project into iDVD and build your DVD structure. When iDVD encodes & multiplexes to burn your DVD, it will use the QT Reference movie, which in turn uses the FCE render files (and your original media).
In iDVD, after you burn your DVD, you have the option of keeping the 'rendered assets'; these are iDVD render files and are inside your iDVD project file; they are not the FCE render files.
If you really want to save time burning subsequent DVDs, in iDVD you should Save As Disk Image (instead of Burn DVD), which gives you a completely finished, fully encoded & formatted DVD disk image. You can then use the Finder, Disk Utility or Toast to burn additional DVDs for only the burn time, you won't have to go through iDVD's menus & re-rendering just to burn an additional DVD.

  • Video content disappeared!

Big problem. All my video content (various encoded TV shows and movies) present in my iTunes Music | TV Shows folder is now gone. In fact, the TV Shows folder is gone! (Thank God for Time Machine.)
How did this happen? I erased my iTunes Libraries and .xml file, then reimported the contents of my iTunes Music folder (where all audio and video files were stored). The reason I did this was because iTunes was "losing" various tracks, saying they weren't found anymore, even though I had done nothing and the actual files were present on my system.
Anyway, now the TV Shows folder is gone. Makes no sense. Any idea why a folder like this would disappear? I didn't manually erase it or anything.

Duh... When you erase your library but keep the files, iTunes discards any TV Show classifications (at least for content you have burned yourself), moves those files to the Movies folder, and deletes the TV Shows folder. (This only happens, I guess, when you opt to have iTunes automatically consolidate your files.)

  • Is there a way to retrieve deleted videos from my iPad?

I accidentally deleted a video from my camera roll today, and the file has not been backed up on my iTunes nor iCloud. Is there any way that I can retrieve it still?

    Hello Marcusbryan99,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to recover some deleted videos that were on your iPad mini. There may be a couple of different solutions for this type of situation. If you are using iCloud Photo Library beta on your iPad, deleted photos and videos can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. Please review the attached article for more information on this process.
iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
How does iCloud delete photos and videos from iCloud Photo Library?
Deleting a photo or video from your Photos app will also remove the item from iCloud Photo Library and from your iCloud storage allocation. Photos and videos you remove can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. After 30 days, your content will be removed from the Recently Deleted album. Photos are backed up on our servers for up to 30 days after they're deleted from the Photos app. If you need to recover these photos during that time, contact Apple Support.
If you have have a backup available on either iTunes or iCloud from when those videos were on the device, restoring from that backup may be an option as well. Please refer to the attached article for more information on restoring from an iCloud or iTunes backup.

thank you. I will read up on it. And just incase I
didnt make myself clear. I am trying to delete ALL
CONTENT except what is in the timeline. you were both
helpful, but I think I will pull the manual out
Yeah -- I think it's clear. Don't touch the material in your scratch disk until you've Media Managed your material. It deals with creating new projects... making clips independent... etc. Lots of steps to do what you would THINK is a simple process.
    Careful!!
    Good luck,
    CaptM
Oh -- OR -- you could just File - Export - Quicktime Movie - Current settings, selfcontained. This way you'll have a full resolution movie of what you edited. THEN you can trash your captured material. Make sure it's self-contained or if you trash the material you won't be able to watch the movie!!
    again, careful.

Step 1: Select the device backup to scan
Step 2: Recover deleted iPhone videos
After the scan, the whole backup content are extracted and also displayed. You can check the video which is in .mpeg format in general, and click "Recover" on the top menu to store it on your computer with iPhone Data Recovery.
Solution 2.Directly scan and recover deleted videos from iPhone 4/3GS
Step 1:Connect your iPhone to the computer
Launch the recovery software on your computer, and connect your iPhone to the computer with a digital cable.
Step 2:Enter the DFU mode and scan iPhone
Enter the DFU mode with your iPhone:
    1. Hold your iPhone and click "Start" button.
    2. Pressing "Power" and "Home" buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
    3. After 10 seconds, release "Power" button, but keep holding "Home" for another 10 seconds.
When you're told that you've entered the DFU mode, release the "Home" button
Step 3: Preview and recover deleted videos from iPhone
When the scan over, all your data on your iPhone or lost from iPhone are found and listed in organized categories.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhone's backup. If your iPhone's backup was updated since the video was captured and the backup has not been updated again since it was deleted from the iPhone, you can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup. Don't update the backup before doing so.

  • Error (-69) attempting to download purchased video content to 160GB Ipod

I am attempting to download purchased video content from Itunes to my Ipod. Till recently there has been no problems. I believe this problem is actually stemming from the downloading of content to my computer resulting in faulty files that cannot be downloaded to my ipod. I am using a Dell XPS desktop computer running Windows XP Media Edition. All software relating to Itunes or my Ipod is up to date as of the writing of this post. My Itunes library, music and video files are downloaded to an external Hard drive rather than to my desktop because of the massive amount of data. As of about two months ago I noticed that many of my songs (about 1 out of every ten and many of which had been fine for months prior) was in some way corrupted. However my Ipod still has many of these same songs that work fine. Sooooooo. First- How do I replace individual songs or at the very least download all music and selectively delete duplicates. And Second- figure out what is causing BRAND NEW video files to download messed up. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

    See this trouble shooting article.

  • Deleting videos twice (iPad mini/iPhone 5s)

When I delete a video (meaning movie or tv show, not something taken with the camera) from my iPhone or iPad in the Videos app, it is still visible in iTunes when I connect my device (though it is gone on the device). To remove it completely I also have to delete it from within iTunes and sync. On the flip side, if I first delete the video from iTunes and sync my device, the video is still visible (and playable) on my device until I also delete it from the Videos app. Why do I have to delete videos twice?
