Deleting A Version Without Deleting The Master

I'm still on 1.5.6 (sorry)...I open a version in my external editor and save back into Aperture.
I have created a few versions that I no longer want. When I select "file-delete version" I get a window asking me if I want to delete the master image and all versions. I only want to delete one version and keep my Master.

You are using the right option to get rid of the "version". The reason aperture is giving you this message is because the "version" that you are targeting has been edited in an external editor. These are a bit different that "versions" that are just created with new version from master or duplicate version. If you send an image to an external editor Aperture actually creates a new psd or tiff master from your original master plus any adjustments applied to the version that you are looking at. Aperture then sends this new psd/tiff master to the external editor. So, when you have a few "versions" of the same image that have been sent to an external editor you also have new masters associated with them. If you delete one of those Aperture is telling you that it is going to get rid of the PSD/Tiff with the modifications that you made in the external editor, it is not telling you that it is going to get rid of the original RAW master that you imported.

Once you open the files in the new version you can't open them in the old version. Pick one version to use (have to be 9 now as you already have converted files)

Are you trying to reduce the visual clutter on the phone, save space on the phone, or limit the security exposure if your phone is stolen?
If you are only wanting to reduce the visual clutter and make scrolling through the list faster, you could set up a group on the computer containing only the contacts you want to see on my phone (called, for example, "Show on my Phone") and enable only that group inside Contacts on the phone. You might even have one or more existing groups that you could enable that way (maybe "Family" and "Personal").

What do you mean by deleting the account? One can't delete an Apple ID/iTunes account. One just stops using it.
Since yo can only have five computer authorized for one iTunes account you might want to deauthorize the computer for that account

Method 1.
Menu > View > Show Thumbnails
Click on a thumbnail.
If it shows a yellow border around all the pages, they a part on a single section.
Click in your document at the beginning of the page you want to delete, and Menu > Insert > Section Break.
Insert another Section Break at the end of that page.
The page is now isolated in its own section and you can delete its thumbnail.

Another newbie question, is Deleting Raw Files without deleting proxy files possible? If it is, anyone have done this? I am thinking of implementing this but cannot find a way. Any suggestion / help is highly appreciated

If what you want to do is delete the original file without deleting the proxies, the easiest way would be to set up an device for Archives. Then you can archive the asset, which will move the original file to the archive location without deleting the proxy and database records for that Asset. Once that is done you can just delete the file from the archive location.

How do I duplicate a spreadsheet, then delete all content without losing the formatting?

I am using numbers to do my accounting for my business. I have created a spreadsheet with pre-formatted columns which is proving VERY useful. I have a drop-down list of "suppliers" which I will add to each month but the problem I have is that when I try and duplicate the spreadsheet (ready to start scratch for next months accounts) I'm struggling to delete all the data from the spreadsheet WITHOUT losing the formatting.
Any help is appreciated.

I'd suggest using a two template (or template plus document) approach.
The template would include the message "Paste POP-UP Here. Fill down" in the top cell of the Suppliers column.
The second template (or regular document) contains the current version of the pop-up menu cell.
Open both,
in the single cell document, select and edit the pop-up menu to include the added suppliers. When done, select the cell and Copy.
Switch to the document produced by the main template. Select the cell with the message (and the rest of the column below that cell) and Paste.
You now have an empty spreadsheet with pop-up containing the current supplier list.
If you add a supplier in mid month, you can add that supplier to the pop-up menu in the current row of the document, and Fill the edited menu down from there.
At the end of the month, if you have made additions to the menu list, select and copy a cell containing the most recent version, switch to the single cell document, select that cell and Paste. This updates the single cell to contain the current version of the pop-up menu, ready to be pasted into the next month's document.

PS: On re-readiing this, I'd also consider skipping the production and saving of the one cell document. The most current version of the pop-up menu will be the one at the bottom of the Suppliers column of the month just ending. That cell can be copied, pasted into the top cell of the column in the new month's table/document, then reset to the 'no entry' item, then filled down the column.

You do the opposite of how you got them on your phone, you unsync the pics using iTunes.

Can you delete any custom extended properties without knowing their ID?
I took over managing a feature that used EWS to send emails to customers.The current code creates a new GUID, and thus new Extended Property, every time an email is sent.

No you can't do that in EWS you need to know the details of the property you want to Read/Write or delete. EWS has no method of enumerating all extended properties either you would need to use MAPI to do this.

I'd question the design of this what where they trying to acheive ? Why not have ths same property with a different Value ? else using an X-header would be better idea at least then it will persist ouside of your Exchange infrastructure and even
inside would be more discoverable.

How to delete eMail attachments without deleting the text

Often people reply to eMails that I have sent and the resend all the attachments. So maybe I've sent 10 photos and this is 2mb in size. They reply - often more than once - and the attachments are all there!
With Eudora, I could simply go to the Eudora Folder and delete the attachments to save HD Space (hey, 2mb a few times per day for a few years is a lot of gb!)
How to do that in Mail - but without deleting the text of the message they sent?

YES!! THANKS VERY MUCH! And now there must must must be a way to alter incoming eMail text and then save that without forwarding or whatever.
By the way - I have found my Mail INBOX for my POP and also for my MobileMe accounts (as well as the other mailboxes). In my Library/Mail folder. OK so my INBOX for my POP is 800mb in size. Let's imagine that I have 8000 messages and 200 of them have attachments that are 1 to 10mb in size. If I now select all the messages in the INBOX and delete the attachments, will I see that INBOX drop substantially in size? And those attachments are "glued" to each eMail, right? I can't see them other than opening each eMail and then if I want to save the attachment(s) somewhere, doing that manually, right?
Is there a way to have all attachments automatically saved in another folder? But then they likely are not linked to an eMail - so if I then delete the attachment that is linked to the eMail, the attachment I saved to another folder is there OK- but it is no longer associated with the eMail, so I might not know to what it is related at some future time.
There were some nice advantages to Eudora-- you could quickly scan your attachments in coverflow or other mode--
Mail's way has some advantages in that you always have the attachment linked AND you can save another copy easily.
Likely best to archive each 31 Dec and then have INBOX-2009-21-31 and next year INBOX-2010-12-31 -- I did that with Eudora and have every message received and sent (most with attachments - but that's a bit tricky) - since 5 March 1996. Handy that.

I've already tried to wipe the phone and it keeps grabbing the old AppleID even though my computer is linked to my new AppleID.

Deletion of podcasts without deleting subscriptions ??

I just installed a new version of itunes and am unable to list podcasts without the subscriptions ie I can't delete all my podcasts after transferring to my ipod without deleting the subscriptions.
How do I list podcasts independently of subscriptions?

Good idea, but I looked and podcasts were already checked. I unchecked everything else, but the podcast still only appear with the subscriptions.
Before there was a "Library" function showing everything at once (and this would be great now as I'd be able to look at it by date of download). Then you could check genre = 'podcasts' and see only the podcasts (not the subscriptions) but still within the "library" function. [There was a separate category 'podcasts' showing the subscriptions to use for updating.]
It's that general "library" function showing all or a subcategory that they removed.
I've managed to get around this by deleting stuff in the folder in windows, but it all still shows up in itunes, and it's a klunky 'fix'.
