Deleting and Imessage on all devices

If a text message is deleted on one device will it delete on all other devices?

I believe it depends on your provider, I'm pretty sure on about 90% of them it does not. My advice is to just try it out for yourself. Hope this helps!

    I will check.  Can the security update be installed if you can no longer open the Mac App Store app?

(photos & apps do not take up that much room).  When I go to manage storage on any device & it will display how much room each program or app is using, it still shows that my e-mail is taking up the most room.  Is there a way to actually log on to the icloud server to manage what it stored there?  If so, how do I do it?  Also, on a related subject,  why does my mail not sync accross all devices?   ie. when I delete an email on one device, why do I still see it on all my other devices?  How can I change this?
    I have an iphone5, ipad2, ipod 4th gen, ipod 3rd gen, all running on my same apple id - but I have a PC not a Mac home computer - is this part of the problem?  Looking to upgrade to a Mac sometime this year...

    Mail is backed up automatically. If you make backups automatically, open Mail application and then, open the Time Machine app (in /Applications/Utilities). You will access to the Time Machine interface, and you will be able to see all your mails of all the backups you have, and you will be able to restore them. It means that your mails are backed up onto the Time Capsule

  • Mail w/ Gmail showing "important" messages in inbox as unread even when deleted and read on other devices

    This is a werid one but hoping somehere here can help or at the very least someone from Apple is listening.
    I'm using several Gmail accounts across all of my macs and iPhone / iPad.  To be specific:
    13" MacBook Air - Mid 2011
    13" MacBook Pro - Mid 2012
    27" iMac - Mid 2012
    iPhone 5s
    iPad Mini
    (All Macs are running 10.9 with the latest build of Mac Mail 7 (1822).  All software updates are performed on all machines.  Both iDevices are iOS7 latest versions.)
    All of my emails (5 gmail accounts and 2 exchange accounts) but one (a Gmail account) work just fine across all devices.  I have one Gmail account that acts weird, but only on one mac (iMac 27").  Here is the issue:
    On this account, all devices EXCEPT the iMac, when I read a message it shows up as read on all other devices.  When I delete a message it deletes from all other devices (but is still accessable from All Mail folder).  However on the iMac, it never shows up as read (still shows the blue dot next to it and still shows a number next to the mailbox name).  If I delete a message on another device, someimtes on the iMac is remains in the inbox, sometimes it deletes.
    Some further info that might help / things I have tried:
    I tried Removing the acocunt and re-adding it to Mail.
    I have tried reindexing all mail per Apple's method.  This works, but as new mail comes in, and gets read on other devices, the problem returns.
    I have tried to "rebuild mailbox" about 20 times.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.  The problem always returns as above, after reading / deleting mail on other devices.
    Sometimes just rebooting Mail seems to catch some of the items deleted on other devices, but not mail that is read on other devices
    I also noticed that many of these mail itmes were labeled as "important" in GMail so I went in and switched Gmail out of the "important" mode and back to the classic.  Then I reindexed and rebuilt again just to be sure.  Now the mail is no longer labled Important, but the read counts are not correct and I'm still showing read mail as unread on this one device.
    I have also deeply compared mail on my iMac and my MBA.  All settings in preferences are the same.
    Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?  It's making it very hard to use my iMac for work and it's my primary machine.  I'm cringing at the alternatives (outlook is simply not an option for me)

    Thanks for the question. You can remove a song from your device by doing the following:
    Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

    If you have iOS 7, this will delete the song from local storage, but the song will still appear with a cloud symbol in the Music app. To hide the iTunes in the Cloud purchases, navigate to Settings > iTunes & App Store, and disable "Show All: Music"

  • Deleting contacts globally for all devices

    i have 4 Apple devices that sync to my ICloud account  I turned off contacts on all but one device and spent the better part of a day deleting contacts on the one device one by one  turned the device off and back on .  I did delete the contacts on other devices by turning off contacts  I then restarted the one device and allowed a full boot.  I then turned on the contacts to the other devices and joila all of the deleted contacts reappeared.  So frustrating.  My question is how do i access  the Icloud account to delete un-wanted contacts globally?

    Assuming this is icloud sync and not something like Gmail, when you edit the contacts on one device it should refresh on all devices that sync. It sometimes takes a little while depending on network connections and such.

    i was on an account with itunes and icloud with my brother, but i got a new phone and a created a new ID for both. today my brother was getting copies of all my text on his iphone, and it then synced both our contacts to each others phone. Next me and my fiance share the new ID created and also today all the contacts that synced from my brothers phone to my phone then were merged with my fiances contacts!!! What is happening and how do we each create our own privacy without merging contacts, etc and still use the icloud backup feature?

    Let me tell you coulpe of things I noticed:
    - Are you using LEAP as the EAP method? some config examples illustrate configuriong using LEAP with WEP keys. Forget this and use WPA2-AES.

    - in some AP configurations (AP1 for example) I can see that:
    wlccp authentication-server client any method_Users
    This means that the wlccp client authentication will use the method called method_Users. Let us see what is configured with this method:
    aaa authentication login method_Users group Users
    This shows us that the method method_Users uses the server group named Users.
    let us see what is configured withe the group Users:
    aaa group server radius Users
    NOTHING!! it is empty!! so when a client tries to connect it will try to autheticate it against the radius server but the radius server group that it needs to check is empty.
    so I think you need to either use the correct method under which the server is configured with the wlccp statement. OR you need to configure the method_Users with correct user group that contains a server.
    Check and let me know if that works.

    Yes, you can:
    Authorization
    iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
    In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

    You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
    You may only do this once per year.
    After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
    If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

    Hi, how do I use my Apple ID and password on all my devices? I changed them all on Saturday and it worked but today they have all reverted back again. Now one of my iPod's can't download anything and I cannot login to the AppStore at all because that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am disabled and live alone, my devices are all in different rooms of a double story house. I'm not able to run around and do it all again by myself.     Go into the account again and look at the settings for the mail server. That is what receives the mail. Make sure that your username and password are entered everywhere, even where the phone states optional. I'm guessing that you are connected to Wi-Fi on the iPad at the time you are trying to get the mail?

    You can only receive messages on both devices that are sent through iMessages. If a person sends you a regular SMS or MMS message, it will only show up on the phone.
    Both devices have to be linked to the same iCloud account, and both devices have to be set to receive at the same address (email or phone number) for iMessages to show up on both devices.
