Deleting Applications

I want to download some unneeded apps on my phone but they're not listed in under Options-Advanced- Applications so I read to use Desktop Manager to delete them.  Of course, I use a Mac so I don't have that option.  Is there something else I can use to manage apps?  I didn't see anything when I downloaded PocketMac.

If you know which modules belong to the applications then you could manually delete the relevant modules. Without knowing however exactly which modules belong to the applications you want to delete I wouldn't recommend this. Also I wouldn't do this for any of the core BlackBerry applications.
Did you download the applications OTA? If you did then the JAD file of the application download will actually list all the COD/JAR files (i.e. modules) to download. That could give you and idea as to which modules you would need to delete.
In order to delete a module go into Options - Advanced Options - Applications and bring up the context menu by pressing the Menu button. Select Modules from the context menu and you will see a list of the modules on your device. Again, you have to be very sure that you know which modules to delete as you might otherwise have to reinstall your whole device. Good luck.

  • Impossible to delete applications on Mac OS X

I'm having frustrating issues with trying to delete applications from my MacBook.
First of all, where is the Applications folder suppose to be stored on the Mac? I find my apps folder located in "My Computer" along with Systems, Library and Users.
When I drag an app icon into the trash can it gets removed but reappears within a few seconds. I then purchased two applications that claim they "zap" apps complete from your Mac: AppZapper and CleanMyMac. When I use both those apps, the actual application icons disappear for a few seconds and then reappear back where they were in full working order. I get all the trashing action sounds but then the applications stubbornly reappears.
It is driving me crazy why I can not delete apps from my Mac. Are some permissions messed up?

Yes and it shouldn't be touched or re-arranged in any way. Other than to install or uninstall apps

It sounds like what you are dragging to the trash may be aliases. Any item in your Dock or Sidebar of Finder is only and alias.

It sounds as though you are sharing and iCloud account with someone else, you need to have a separate iCloud account, otherwise there is no way of stopping other sharers from accessing your photos in photo stream.

  • How to retrieve a deleted application

I was just curious in know is there any way you can retrieve a deleted application. I noticed there is recycle bin but I think that is just for database objects

Use the command-line export utility on the APEX Studio. This uses a Java class HTMLDBExport.class that is included in the utilities folder in the software distribution. There is probably a README file that has instructions on how to use it.
This way you can set up a scheduled job using the appropriate tools depending on your operating environment (cron, Scheduled Tasks, etc) and have a periodic export of your entire workspace.

  • Deleting Application & Log Question

We had a consultant come and do training on location. I now have 3 training applications that I need to delete. They where created by three different people and when I log in as the admin to delete them, I am receiving the following message:
" An error occurred while processing this page. Check the log for details. "
    * Which log is it referring too? I cannot find a log in planning that has details to this.
    * Could I be having issues because the admin account is not the creator of this application?
    * One of the applications does not have an essbase cube, what do I do with it?
Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
    Lace

    Hi,
The error logging in planning has never been the best, especially if you are using Tomcat.
If you run planning server in the foreground from the start menu and not as a server you get receive a lot more information (that is if you are on windows)
If you check the datasource details for the applications created you should be able to see the user account they were created with.
You also find out find out the sql repository tables which user is the application owner (HSP_USERS or HSP_OBJECT usually with id 50001)
Are you saying one of the planning applications does not have a cube or an essbase application, it is alright if it does not have any cubes a create might not have been run. If there is no essbase application you can always create one with the correct name so when you run the delete application it runs through without any problems.
    Hope this helps
    John

  • Is there any chance to recover deleted application data ?

i deleted  application called evernote , and i re install it than i realized the activity log in that application lost ? but i really need to know activity of 7 th june in my computer regarding to that program :/ because that day my friend was in my house and hes used the computer for long time and there was private things in that application and application wasnt logged out

Since you post in iPhone 4S tag, I guess you deleted application in your iPhone 4S. You may have a try some iPhone data recovery software or similar programs. Many apps claims to be able to recover data from iPhone as long as the deleted data are not erased by new data.

  • Deleting application results in ORA-03113 error

I'm having trouble deleting applications from my workspace. Every time I attempt to delete an application, I get an ORA-03113 error.
It doesn't seem to matter whether or not I choose to include the Application Definition or Supporting Objects when deleting.
If I cancel and keep trying to delete the application, the db crashes. When this happens the .trc file shows multiple memory errors and the alert log shows multiple core dumps.
    db version = *10.2.0.1*
    apex version = *3.2*
If anyone has experience with similar issues, any suggestions would appreciated. This problem has been a real pain.

    Keith,
There are quite a few hits on Metalink for this error. You may want to go there and see if you can find a patch (of which there seems to be several) or some other method of troubleshooting this problem.
Here is what Doc ID: 1020463.6 has to say in the introduction:
The ORA-3113 error is a general error reported by Oracle client tools,
which signifies that they cannot communicate with the oracle shadow
process. As it is such a general error more information must be collected
to help determine what has happened.
Than note's title is "Diagnosing ORA-3113 Errors".
    Good luck,
    Don.

  • Problems with camera roll and deleting applications

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me. On my iPhone 3G (with Orange) I am having a couple of issues which I have not been able to resolve.
Firstly, I have no problem taking pictures and them then appearing on my camera roll, but whenever my phone is turned off, these pictures then disappear. This has happened before and after updating my phone with the latest version.
Also, I am unable to delete applications. I have tried pressing and holding an app icon, waiting for it to shake and the "x" to appear and nothing happens. If I then release the icon, it just opens the app. This happens both with the built-in apps and ones I have downloaded.
    Any ideas?

  • HT1338 My Macbook Pro 13" says that I have no more memory in my startup disk. I've tried clearing files and folders and deleting applications but it still says that I have low memory. How do I fix it?

My MacBook Pro 13" says that I have no more memory in my startup disk. I have tried deleting applications, files, folders, and it still says I have low memory. What is taking up all that space?

First -- do the target disk backup.  Somehow get a backup.
You might try booting to Single user mode:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1492 and removing the files in the command line.  When you put files in the trash, the space is still used up until the trash is emptied.
using rm command removes it totally.  Just be very careful because you remove the wrong file, and you have to relad the system

  • Delete application list

Anybody know how to delete application lists using the APEX API?
For my application I need the ability to generate pages and navigation lists using the APEX API.
I know there are the functions wwv_flow_api.create_list and wwv_flow_api.create_list_item
to build a list but I can't seem to find any similar functions to remove them in the first place.
I can access the tables they are stored in directly and delete them from there but then I need
to specify the table owner (in my case FLOWS_030100) as there are no public synonyms or
    key-preserved views on those tables.

    >
Let's see some things about the APEX API, from the official Oracle docs:
"The APEX_UI_DEFAULT_UPDATE package provides procedures to access user interface defaults from within SQL Developer or SQL*Plus.
You can use this package to set the user interface defaults associated with a table within a schema. The package must be called from within the schema that owns the table you are updating.
So, after all, we are allowed to use the Oracle API!We do provide some API's that are documented / supported and safe to use by developers, and the APEX_UI_DEFAULT_UPDATE package you mention (although it bears no relevance to this discussion) is a package that contains API's that we support. This package allows the developer to update UI Default information (not actual components eg lists), so to re-iterate, there is no supported API for the purpose of deleting an application list or list item. For a full list of supported API's take a look at the documentation:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/apirefs.310/e12855/toc.htm

For example, I have an enviroment that automaticly udpates the aplications (let's say I have 1000) to their lastest version. I will use a batch, of course, wich sould delete the applications and then import them all over again. Hmm, so, you would say that this is possible only from the GUI? Maybe one of you, gentlemen, will care to do this manually every night? I didn't think so ...
So I ask again, maybe someone will answer me correctly: is there a procedure/function in the public APEX API to delete an application? Or a script of somesort that does this?
This again bears no relevance to this thread. You are now talking about deleting applications, not deleting lists within applications. I would suggest starting a new thread for your new question.
A few points to get you started:
    - An application export is just sql script which you can run outside of the APEX UI. See Scott's post here with details:
    Import application manually
    - As Scott says, if your importing applications in this way, you'll need to make sure the workspace ID of the target workspace is the same as the workspace that you exported the application from. (Easiest way to do this is by exporting the workspace from the source and importing it to the target).
    - If you import an application that has the same ID as one which already exists in a workspace, then this will overwrite it anyway, so you don't need to actually delete anything.

  • Deleting application locks shared services account on Oracle Server

Whenever I need to delete an account from within Essbase, ( right click on application delete->application ) the final result is that the HSS account that shared services uses to connect to our oracle server gets locked.
Unlocking it and stop/starting everything resolves the problem, but I would like to stop this from happening.
All other aspects of logging into shared services, etc. admintration, provisioning, all work OK. Just the delete application.
    On Redhat Linux, Essbase 11.1.1.3

The bottom line is that we don't certify running Forms using the features of a terminal server to serve up any part of those Forms. That doesn't mean it does not work, but its not certified or supported.

  • What is the best way to delete applications?

I am told that my Mac came with everything I need in the way of programs for basic functions.  What is the best way to delete applications making sure there are no threads left in Library and other places?

Yes, but not always. An example of what I call "System" files/folders would be Quicktime or things like pre-installed print and scanner drivers. You have to be pretty confident to go rummaging through files in either /System or /Library. Most of the time there is no reason to be in there.
An example of a file that is in those system folders, that does not come pre-installed as of Lion, is Flash plug-ins. That gets installed in the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
But your average App downloaded from the MAS, most of it's files will be in the User Folder   ~/username

  • Recover Essbase data for deleted application

    Hello,
User has accidentally deleted Essbase application from the EAS Console. An application with the same name was created. We then used Hyperion Planning to recreate the database of the new application. We have file system backup of all the directories of the deleted application. How can we get all the data of the old application into the new one?
    Thank you for help.

    Thank you John for replying.
    I have another question.
For the deleted application there was a separate directory containing only the .pad and .ind files on driver E and another directory containing files such as .otl, .db and others on driver D.
After creating the new application all the files now reside in a single directory on driver D. So if we restore the backup directories, there will be 2 locations for the application file. Will Essbase dectect these locations or do we have to do some configurations?
    Thanks.
