Deleting apps before they download

My son "purchased" numerous apps on my ipad without me knowing. Now when I open itunes on my computer it continually tries to download these apps. I pause the download, select all apps and delete them which works for the time being but itunes still says I have all these apps to download and tries again each time I open it. How can I delete these permanently so that they just go away?

I've tried that and they are still sitting in the itunes folder. At the bottom of the "downloads" page it still says there are 21 available downloads which are all these ridiculous things my son "purchased" for free. How do I get them out of there? Any ideas?

  • HT4009 How can I remove/delete apps I have downloaded in iTunes?

    Hi,
How can I remove/delete apps I have downloadedin iTunes?
I have the Lite versions that I try and then buy the PRO version.
Now all the LITE's are cluttering my account.
Also some of the apps that I downloaded are not required/wanted now. Can I delete them?
    Thanks

You can delete them from your computer's iTunes and/or from your device, but you can't currently permanently delete them from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding (the ability to hide items directly on a device doesn't appear to work in iOS 6)

  • I download apps directly to my iphone.  When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos, songs downloaded on my iphone?

I download apps directly to my iphone.  When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos/vdeos, songs downloaded on my iphone?

If you are syncing to the same computer that you always sync to, and have each of the items in itunes that you want synced then you shouldnt have an issue. The only way you would have an app come off your phone is if you uncheck that app from syncing in th apps location in itunes.

  • Why does my iPhone close apps before they've loaded?

Whenever I open apps on my iPhone 3GS, the phone closes out of the app before it even opens. It does this with all of my apps, such as Messages, Safari, and any game or other app I try to open on my iPhone.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore.
    Try these.

  • Since downloading itunes 10 my ipod's features are messed up.  Currently I'm looking to delete apps.  They no longer appear on left side of itunes screen.  I try to click on apps on top of screen but apps are in a shadow mode and I can't click on them.

Since downloading itunes 10 my ipod's features are messed up and many do not now work.  Currently my problem is I want to delete some apps.  It no longer shows on the left side of itunes.  When I click on apps at the top, the apps appear shadowed and i cannot click on them.  If I check the box to sync them it says I will lose what's on my ipod and the things in my library will replace them.  What should I do?

If you are completely confident that you didn't hide it, then you purchased those with different apple id. If you completely confident that you purchases with same apple id then you have hidden it. One of the other or you are speaking about a miracle. While miracles are possible they are not very likely. • How do I delete videos before they are downloaded?

I purchased a season of a tv show and it came with a behind the scenes with each episode but it takes up too much data and memory so I don't want to download them. The problem is I can't seem to be able to delete them from "downloads" section of my iTunes. I did do it once before so I know it can be done but for the life of me I can't do it again. Can anyone help?

    Try this:
    1. Sign out of Apple ID
    2. Reboot iPad
    3. Sign in Apple ID
    Settings>iTune & App Stores>Apple ID

  • Deleting unwanted podcasts (before they download)

    Hello
am struggling because all these podcasts appear ready to download and actually i DON'T WANT THEM.
Before, i could just delete them from the list BEFORE downloading. Fine. But now it is impossible to delete
them... and they show up all the time.
So am downloading them (something like 100 of them) and then deleting them but this is real weird.
So could you please show a more sensitive way to delete them?
I just hate this new iTunes and wish we could avoid the acceptance of new versions.
Thank you for caring and replying.

(Click this image to make it larger.)
Click the 'Old Episodes' button to see the undownloaded episodes: you can choose to show some in this view by clicking on the grey circle to the right of the title. Click 'Done' when done.

  • Is anyone else having problems with game apps when they download them to the iPad 3

My daughters games tend to not it the screen and none of them have sound? They are preschool games that are doing this. My apps sem fine do far

Try resetting your device by holding down both the home and lock buttons for ~10 seconds or until the device restarts, ignoring the power slider.

  • What setting prevents a deleted app from re-downloading from iCloud to the iPhone?

re: iOS 7.1.1, iTunes Mac 11.2, Mac OS 10.9.3
What setting do I select that prevents an app that's been deleted from the iPhone from re-loading back from iCloud after a Sync? I don't want to permanently delete the App from iCloud, as I want the option to load it back at a later date. I can't find the Setting that does this. Is it a setting on the iPhone or in iTunes on the Mac?
I know this can be done, as my iPad is operating this way. But my wife's iPhone isn't. I can't remember what setting I used to get it to do this.
    Thanks

I just tried it. I deleted an app from the phone. When I connected to iTunes instead of a Sync button there were 2 buttons, Revert and Apply. And the app I deleted had an Install button. Perhaps if you don't click Apply the app will be reinstalled.

  • HT204053 my 2 sons have iPods and I have them connected to my apple id but everytime I send a text or they download an app, we all get it on all 3 devices.  How do I separate their stuff from mine?

I got my 2 sons ipod touches for christmas and used my apple Id thinking I could have more control over what they download, but what happens is that everytime I do something on my iphone or they do something on thier ipods, we all get it on all 3 devices.  That includes my text messages and the many apps that they download.  How do I separate thier activity and mine while still having the ability to control what they do on thier ipods???

For Messages they will each need their own iCloud accounts. You should also enable Restrictions in Settings > General > Restrictions and disable auto-download on the other devices.

  • HT3702 i dont want itunes to automatically charge my card if i want an app can they ask permission before it is charged?

is there an option for itunes to ask if i am sure i want to purchase an app before they charge mycard?

I'm guessing here but I wonder if there is an issue with credit card validation in Mexico at the moment.  There's been a number of posts in Spanish about credit cards this moring, and several from Mexico.

  • Deleting apps on launchpad

How do i delete apps i have downloaded myself on launchpad. I tried to do the wiggle and delete but that particular app doesnt have option for "x" .

    got it. never mind

  • How do I delete apps that don't have an X?

I read where someone else asked how to delete apps and they were told to hold the app til it wiggled then click an X that would appear in the app corner.  Well.....there is no X in the corner of the app I want to delete (stocks).  I have no use for this app and hate the extra clutter.  Thanks for any help.

If it is an app that is part of the Apple iOS install, you won't be able to remove it.
If it is a 3rd party app it should have an X when tapped and held.
Note you can also remove apps using the Apps tab in iTunes when the device is connected to your computer.

  • When Deleting Apps on Computer Why Doesn't It Also Delete Them On My Phone When It Syncs?

I Just can't get this figured out. I delete them and then move them to trash, but then they don't delete when syncing with my computer, they just stay on the phone. I hate the new itunes!

There are a couple of ways to delete apps so they don't come back on the next sync:
    1) With the phone not connected to the computer
Delete the app in iTunes on the computer
Delete the app on the phone:
Press the app until the apps start wiggling then tap the ⓧ on the apps to be deleted
Press the Home button when finished
    2) With the phone connected to the computer via USB
         Select the phone in iTunes
Select the Apps tab near the top of the phone window
Uncheck the box or click Remove (depending on the iTunes version) for each app to be deleted
         Click Sync at bottom-right
