Deleting apps on itunes 11 not deleting them when syncing with Iphone 4s!

Before I updated to Itunes 11 I used to delete unwanted apps on Itunes and then when sysncing through PC running windows 7, apps used to be deleted on iphone. After updating to Itunes 11 this is not being done. You can sync purchased apps from Itunes to Iphone and also from Iphone to Itunes both directions, but when deleting both directions won't work, therefore in order to delete the app I have to delete apps both on Iphone and Itunes!

This is a user to user support forum. Apple don't monitor for feedback or to give direct support.
Ideally you would delete any apps you no longer want on the device either directly on it, or by unticking them when you sync. They would stay in your library in case you want to reinstall later. You can discard from the library also, and in most cases you would be able to download again later if you wanted, but apps do get removed from time to time, or updated so that they no longer work with older versions of iOS. Keeping all your content, and a backup uof it, keeps you in control. Either way removing from the device, then later from the library if you wish, is probably the best way to do it.
You may find that setting the option under Edit > Preferences > Devices to Prevent automatic syncing... will mean that you get the warning to transfer or remove back when you do sync. Alternatively try Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset warnings.

Photos tab not working correctly when syncing to iphone

When I connect my iphone to itunes and then select it and the photo tab, I can not change any of the settings (ie my pictures selections, what folder to select. the only thing it will allow is the syncing of all photos in my pictures, (dont want 14, 247 photos on my phone). I have created a folder with select photos that I want to sync with iphone, but cant select it. anyone have a solution. do I have to delete current version of itunes and reload it again..?

OK I RESOLVED IT! I removed most of the photos from "My Pictures" and than I agreed to sync all of the remaining ones. Only then did it light up everything else and allow me to change the settings.

No events listed when syncing with iPhone

I confirmed that I have the radio button checked that says "Sync all Contacts", but not the one that specifically shows Yahoo! Address Book. So the question remains, why does iTunes consistently prompt me to sync Yahoo! Address Book? How can I stop that from happening?

I just lost all of my Apps...... when sync with ituns

My old pc crash so I bought a new one with win 7, download the latest I tunes 9.1.079,
And then I sync my iphone,
It ask me if I want to erase and sync so I press the cancel,
The result was the about 70 Apps some paid some are free where lost,
I don’t know why but it did kept 8 apps,
It will take we days to try to get them back,
Its crazy, is there any other way that I can restore all of my apps,

Where is the backup for your old PC with all important data such as documents, photos, etc. which should also include your iTunes library?
In regards to iTunes content, and iPhone can be synced and/or manually managed with an iTunes library on a single computer only and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
It won't take you days to get the apps back. You can look up your purchase history with your iTunes account with iTunes which will include free apps followed by redownloading the apps with iTunes on the computer you will be using now. You won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to redownload the app that was used to purchase the app originally. This shouldn't take long but if it will take you days to do this, the sooner you get started the faster you will get it done.
You can have up to 5 computers authorized with the same iTunes account. Once you reach 5 authorized computers, you can reset this back to zero followed by reauthorizing the computer or computers you are currently using now and need authorized.

IPod touch 4g will not back-up when syncing with iTunes

I was wondering why my iPod touch 4g will back-up when syncing in iTunes. I have tried rebooting the iPod and pc, but still no luck. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks if you can.

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

ITunes crashes when syncing with iPhone

I have had my 3GS for almost 4 months and love it (bar the poor battery life) but I have recently downloaded apps via the phone and now when I sync to iTunes, iTunes freezes on the same screen each time while backing up the iPhone.
The following message is displayed in a dialogue box entitled 'Adding Files':

Once this dialogue box pops up, iTunes freezes. This seems to occur just after the voice memos have been backed up. I do not have any music on my iPhone but I have almost 60 voice memos. In the My Documents folder in windows, each of the voice memos have been copied 7 times (corresponding to the number of times my computer has crashed after copying them).
I thought maybe it just needed more time to sync so I left it a bit longer (as recommended in some posts) but the sync fails (and crashes iTunes) and the iPhone returns to the home screen and 'sync in progress' is no longer displayed on the iPhone.
I also tried the following as recommended in various threads:
- removed photos from the camera roll
- unticked all 'sync' buttons except the 'apps' sync
I have run the diagnostics help tool in iTunes and all tests have passed. I have looked at the Problem Reports and the following is copied from the latest report:

It happened to me with my iPod touch and what I finally found was that some of the voice memos were corrupted.
What you may do is go over them, one by one, on you iPhone/iPod touch and try to play them. The corrupted ones will not play.
Delete all the corrupted recordings from your device and then sync again with your iTunes.
It worked for me, most chances that it will solve the problem for you too.

ITunes freezes when syncing with iPhone, but works fine with iPod?

It's a bit of a long story with my iPhone/iTunes problem. In late July, my iPhone stopped syncing properly. It's an iPhone 4. Basically, I tried to add more photo albums to sync onto my phone, something I have done before. It began syncing, then notified me that it couldn't sync 'x' amount of photos. It was a pop up on my phone screen. I tried deleting my cache in My Pictures, still errors. Then it seems like everything possible has just glitched when I sync as weeks went on. It wouldn't sync music. The songs would appear gray and failed to play. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it doesn't. Now, iTunes freezes when it reaches the end of the sync and I have to ctrl+alt+del to close iTunes as it stops working.
I took my iPhone to apple, and she ran diagnostics and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. She told me she couldn't run diagnostics on my iTunes because it's a Windows laptop and she's "not trained to work with them". She said everything seemed fine with my iPhone and asked if it was possible if I have a virus. I've had no other problems with my laptop whatsoever and I have a decent virus protector that we pay for monthly.
I have tried restoring my phone twice, with a backup. I tried again WITHOUT a backup, and still, it freezes when it syncs, some songs are gray on my iPhone and won't play, and photos refuse to sync, period.
I then tried syncing my dad's iPod with my iTunes, and it worked. I also tried syncing my iPhone on my dad's laptop, and it worked. So something is clearly glitching between specifically my phone and my iTunes. I'm avoiding uninstalling iTunes at all costs because I don't want to lose play count information as the majority of my playlists are created this way. I thought iOs 7 or iTunes 11 (now 11.1) would fix it, but neither did.
Can anyone determine what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Itunes stuck on calendar when sync with outlook 2007

iTunes get stuck on sync with calendar from outlook 2007 windows 7. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled old version, no change. I updated iphone to 7.1.2 and created a new user on my pc, installed iTunes, told me I was not authorized to sync, and then synced to my other user calendar, not the new user. When I switch back to the original user and try to sync, it gets stuck again on the calendars.
All of this worked until a few weeks ago and I did not do any updates to either the iphone, or iTunes until today, BUT Microsoft did a security update to office on 6/12/14 to my pc.
Does anyone have any advice? I really need my calendars in sync!!

I had no problem with 7.6.1 and Outlook syncing, so either Apple is targeting you specifically, or something else changed on your computer. Further, there have been reports that 7.6.1 FIXED some Outlook syncing problems.
Check the obvious first; is Outlook still the default application for mail, contacts and calendar? (Look in the Outlook options.)
As the problem occurred when you installed 7.6.1 the next thing to try is to uninstall iTunes completely, then download and install a clean copy. See this tip for removal instructions:

I'd updated iOS7 (the latest), Maverick and iTunes 11.1.2. While everything is working fine independently, when I try to sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes, it just hangs at "Finishing Syncing..." forever. A few minutes later, iTunes just quit unexpectedly (crashed!!!).
I repeated syncing a few more times but same thing happens. I have no luck so far but wonder if anyone has similar experience with iPhone 5 or any other model and if a solution is found.
I will not sync any more until Apple has an update for any of their software to fix this. iPhone is backed up in iCloud so I am safe but I would like to change music from time to time but it seems a little unstable so far

I have discovered the specific cause of my issue (cannot sync photos).
We have two networked computers. All the latest versions are on both computers. (Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.2, iPhoto 9.5, IOS 7.0.3)
The iPhoto library is on a separate hard drive attached to Computer1 via firewire. Syncing to IOS devices works fine from Computer1.
Computer 2 on the network (ethernet) uses the same photo library for iPhoto (iPhoto on Computer2 accesses the iPhoto library on hard drive attached to Computer1). iPhoto works fine on Computer2, no issues. However, when trying to sync photos to an IOS device via iTunes from Computer 2, the photo part of the sync hangs up on "Importing Photos", runs forever, and always causes an iTunes crash after awhile.
I copied the iPhoto library directly to the hard drive on Computer2, and redirected iPhoto on Computer2 to use that copied library now on Computer2. iTunes could then complete syncing from Computer2, including photos, with no problem.
So iTunes has a bug syncing photos to an IOS device when the photo library used by iPhoto on that computer resides on a different networked computer (accessed over a home network). Note this all worked fine prior to upgrading Mavericks, iTunes, and iPhoto.
Note that iPhoto has no problem with this configuration.

Freeing HD space from iTunes without losing content during Sync with iPhone

Hey, Y'all!
This is probably a common question — but I had some trouble finding a specific answer by a few attempts at searching. So please forgive any redundancy...
I desperately need to free HD capacity on my MacBook Pro, and parts of my iTunes Library would make good candidates. The entire home/Music folder is already backed-up to an ext. HD (more than 1x).
But I'd prefer to NOT lose whatever I delete from my MacBook Pro's HD when I sync with my iPhone 3Gs and my son's iPod Touch. Both devices have plenty of capacity for what they're holding currently.
How do I set up sync parameters to accomplish this using, e.g., the Music and Videos tabs in the iTunes interface with these devices? And when — do I alter these settings "before" doing the removals from my HD? The answers may be obvious, but unfortunately not to me.
Hope I've made sense in stating my questions. I'm using iTunes 8.2.1 (6) if that's a factor in this...

I finally found several errors that may all help you who may have the same problem. While each of these steps may or many not help you, here is what I did to achieve a resolution. I will provide the logic as much as I can.
1. The problem is as above, unchange
Step 1: I made sure that my Mac (late 2008 unibody, running Mac OS X 10.8.2 with all recent updates) was infact working well. I verified and repaired permissions as well as verified and repaired my HD.
Step 2: I went through my iTunes app library and eliminated duplicates as well as apps that 'hung' (apps that would be updated but never leave the update screen- somehow these apps are duplicated- delete one of these to clean up your app update screen.
Step 3: Check for operating mode. You most likely need to run iTunes 11 on Mac OS X Mountain Lion (and possibly Lion) in 64 bit mode. Close iTunes and open your Applications folder. There select iTunes 11 and under the file menu- select Get info. See if your iTunes is running in 32 bit mode*. Uncheck this if 32 bit mode is selected. Close the window and restart Itunes. Try synching with your iPhone or Ipod (touch). This may work.
*Step 4: If you have 32 bit mode checked, think back to if you installed 3rd party plugins. I realized I have a legacy plugin for iToner that forced iTunes 11 to jump back from 32 bit and 64 bit modes. Check your iTunes plugins and either delete or backup/delete plugins.
After doing all this, my iTunes 11 and iPhone 5 started synching again.
I hope this helps. Whenever there are problems in upgrades, check 3rd party plugins! Check that folder to jog your memory!

IPhoto immediately freezes when synced with iPhone.

When I open iPhoto and sync my iPhone 4 to my Mac, the program freezes immediately. I have updated both phone, computer, and iPhoto to all the current versions. This problem has occured every single time I've tried to sync the two for the past 3 months. It does not crash, it just freezes, and I have to force quit the program.

When you created a new Apple ID and logged the phones in you disconnected them from the account where your calendars etc are, use your original ID.

Looking for app to store account numbers in that syncs with iphone and mac

Hi all, I have tons of random work information, account info, logins, etc., that I would like to keep on my mac and sync to my iphone. But I would like to have them protected in some fashion.
Anyone have any recommendations?

I recently purchased the mSecure app for the same purpose but cannot get it to sync with the desktop version via wifi as it is supposed to do. Support response from mSecure has been good but still no luck syncing. All of these types of apps require syncing via wi-fi but not much good if it doesn't work. I've tried all of the suggested work-arounds to no avail. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm trying to sync to a Windows laptop. I'm reluctant to use the same type of apps that back up to an online storage site for security purposes.

ITunes 10.3.1 Problems Syncing with iPhone

Since updating iTunes to version 10.3.1 i have not been ably to sync my iPhone4, when i plug my iPhone in my computer recognises something has been pluged in, but itunes does not detect it! does anyone know of a fix for this?

Win XP machines that are seeing the iPhone as a camera or portable drive, but not showing in iTunes should do this - takes 5 minutes!!
Connect iPhone
Open Control Panel
double click on System
choose Hardware tab
click Device Manager
find iPhone - probably under Imaging Devices
right click iPhone
choose Properties
click driver tab
choose Update Driver
select "Install from list or specific location" and click Next
choose "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" and click next
there should be 2 drivers listed; highlight Apple Mobile Device driver
click ok
iPhone should now connect
close out of Device Manager and Control Panel
open iTunes and see your iPhone appear!!
You may have to do this with all phones that you sync.
Hope this helps - it worked for the phones in our family!
