Deleting apps reappearing after sync

Greetings!
I'm having an issue where when I delete apps on my 3G, when I sync back up with iTunes, the apps are put BACK onto the phone. Anyone else experiencing this or know why it's happening?
Thanks in advance!
Bob

On the Applications page of your device when connected to iTunes, check synch "Selected applications", not "All", When you delete an app from your phone, the app should automatically uncheck itself on the page, but sometimes this doesn't happen. Review the selected apps before synching.
If you're sure you don't want to use the app again, you can delete if from your iTunes library.

  • Deleted apps reappearing

I haven't been able to pin down what triggers this, but I have been sporadically finding previously downloaded and deleted apps suddenly appear on one of my home pages. It may just be the icons, I'm not positive (next time it happens I will try to open one of said apps). Either way, each time I immediately hold to delete them, and press okay to deleting the apps and all their data. Doesn't seem to stop it from suddenly reloading them when I don't expect it. Is this just an ios 8 glitch? I have an iphone 6 and have downloaded both the first two/new updates to ios 8.

This is an update of my former topic!
    I have conducted an experiement:
I choosed the app Bebot, since this is one of the first apps ever bought, and I have never deleted it until today!
    Deleted Bebot app from ipad
    Deleted Bebot app from itunes
Redownload Bebot app from itunes store on win
It does not get checked in Sync apps!
I should because I have Automatically sync new apps enabled!
    I check it
    Apply.
Syncing starts. Bebot installed on ipad
    Delete Bebot app from ipad
    Itunes uncheck automatically
    Apply, sync starts
Bebot does not reappear and is not installed on ipad
    Exit itunes and reopened itunes
    Bebot still unchecked
Perform Sync...Bebot dont get synced back!
    Conclusion:
Old apps that are deleted dont get synced back and do not reappear after sync
New apps that are deleted get synced back and reappears after deleting!
I dont classify the newly downloaded Bebot as a new app, since it is registered on my itunesaccount two years ago.
This test leads to an inevitable question:
Did Apple changed something in the behaviour of newly bought apps?
If so, what has changed and why, cause it does more harm than use in my opinion!

  • Songs i deleted on the iPhone reappear after syncing

I thought the thing could work like apps: after you deleted an App from the iPhone it will not reappear after the sync with iTunes.
Instead today i deleted 4 songs from my iPhone 4 and after the sync they reappeard.
Have to say that i sync only the checked songs of all the iTunes songs i have, so i thought those i deleted from iPhone would be unchecked after the sync... it didn't work this way...
    By now i think it's a useless function ^_^

I agree that it's a useless function. I spent so much time deleting 100+ songs directly from the iphone, then I synced and there they were back in there. I can obvoiusly delete them directly from itunes but what's the point of being able to delete them from the iphone if they are going to be back after the next sync.  I hope the next update fixes this problem.

  • .pdf's reappearing after syncing

I use a lot of .pdf's (about 700 permanently stored), and often after I get them I combine them (sync to iTunes, open in preview, thumbnail view, move them over, save, rename the master, delete the others).  Recently, I've found I can't get rid of some of the one page .pdf's.  I delete them on iTunes, sync with "sync books" off to delete them from my iPad, sync with "all books" checked to restore the iTunes library to the iPad (checked they aren't there), and presto--somehow the deleted files are being restored.  Granted I'd rather they reappear than mysteriously disappear, but this is making it very hard to stay organized.  Please help.

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on. Let us know the results.

  • TS1702 Despite troubleshooting, Facebook App crashes after sync

I use Facebook to keep up with my far-away grandkids, and am really at a loss here - I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps recommended by Apple AND Facebook, yet after syncing with my computer (Mac OSX version 10.5.8) the Facebook app still wont open on my iPad. I'm at a loss, and there's no Genius Bar nearby! Please help me out?
The icon is visible and when I click on it, the screen looks like it's going to open for about one second, then it reverts to my home screen. I have restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled from the device and deleted/reinstalled from iTunes from my computer, then synced back onto the iPad and still it closes immediately. All apps and operating system are up to date on the iPad.
Thank you so much for considering helping me out!

The facebook app is buggy at best. Have you tried other third party apps? I have Facely and it works, and I know there are others. You can also access facebook via safari. Just type www.facebook.com into a safari window and sign in. You can also access the facebook mobile site m.facebook.com
I know facebook has been changing some things and it's possible that their changes have messed up how the app interacts with the site. Usually the best thing to do is find a work around until they fix things since there's really nothing you can do.

  • How do I get my apps back after sync to MBP, Upgrade to iOS5?

After Sync'ing my iPhone 4 to MBP, I upgraded to iOS5 on the iPhone and Lion on the MBP.  Now, my icons for iPhone apps are on the MBP.  I don't see how to get them back to the iPhone.  The former "Apply" button has disappeared.  What is the new procedure?

Two things that I did wrong:
    1) I was in iTunes, clicked on the left navigation bar for Apps and expected to see something like "Apply".  This was incorrect.  I needed to click on my iPhone under Device in the Left Nav bar, and then, click on Apps in the top nav listing.  Then I could see my apps.  And,
    2) I could see that my apps had actually sync'd but they inexplicably sinc'd to a 3rd/4th/and 5th screen leaving the second screen nearly empty, so I thought they had never sync'd at all.
So, I'm back in business.  Thanks to replyer.

  • Nokia E71 and Isync-Delete my contacts after syncing

Hey guys really need help! after syncing with entourage some of my contacts got deleted for no reasons. I am not sure how many but quite a few got deleted.
Can I know how can I stop this from happening and sometimes it duplicates the events.
    Please help thanks heap!

Syncing Entourage with iCal and Address Book and then onto your phone increases the likelihood of duplication or corruption of data.
In general, the less things you are syncing with the better, so consider switching to Address Book and iCal rather than using Entourage for best results.
Clicking "Reset Sync History..." in iSync's Preferences may resolve your current issue, but make sure you backup first and keep regular backups in the future to avoid data loss, if this happens again.

  • IPhone  Not maintaining App Organization After Syncing

Please help.  Here's the scenario:  I plug in my iPhone to my Mac to sync.  While in iTunes, I select my iPhone in the side bar and then I select Apps.  Once in Apps, I organize my apps into tidy folders.  For example, I put all of my airline apps into the same "Travel" folder.  I do this to prevent having pages and pages of apps.  After doing that, I press the "Sync" button to save the changes to the iPhone.  The changes seem to stick.  No problem.  I look on my iPhone and the changes are made.  I unplug my iPhone and the changes are still there. However, when I plug in my iPhone to sync the following day, all of the apps are unorganized again.  This has happened repeatedly for weeks.  Not sure why.  Some previous organizational changes I've made are OK.  It seems the iPhone simply will not allow me to organize the last 7-10 apps I've added to my phone.  Does anyone have any idea of why this may be happening and even more importantly, does anyone know how I can fix it?  I have tried resetting my phone many times and it does not impact the issue.  Thanks, in advance for any help and advice you can provide.

Does it behave any differently if you organise your apps on the iPhone itself, rather than in the iTunes side bar?

  • Apps disappear after syncing with itunes

I have a problem. it only started after i bought my new iMac and migrated all my docs etc from my macbook using Migrate Assistance. when i download apps on my iphone, after i sync with itunes they just dissapear.
    HELP please

I know I am late in posting to this discussion but I had to put my two cents in. I am having the exact same problem on my 3GS. I use a PC to connect to itunes and more often than not after syncing is complete all of my apps have gone out of the organized folders! I wouldn't complain if I only had 20-30 apps to deal with but I have 495! I have called Apple on this problem several times and they have continued to plea ignorance saying that they have never had anyone call in with this problem before! Obviously this is not the case by all of the people writing about the same thing! I hope that Apple will get with their programmers and figure out what the heck is going on...we deserve better than this! Mr. Jobs would not be so well-off without us so he needs to take better care of his customers! Well, I FINALLY talked to someone that seemed to have a solution to my problem! I thought that you only needed to organize your apps into folders on the actual phone...nobody had asked me before if I had organized them directly on itunes. I am in the process of doing this now and I hoping beyond hope that by doing this my folders stay organized! Although, there was one time when I was just sitting at my desk and my folders all became disorganized when it wasn't even plugged into any computer or being charged with a wall outlet! We will have to wait and see!

  • Why do my apps die after sync?

Everything was fine until I plugged in my phone and synced with iTunes. This happened with both 2.0 updates. The only way I could get apps to work was by downloading them through the App Store via wireless. I figured new update would fix this. Nope! I also tried this on three different computers with no luck. Also used two different USB cables to see if the cable was the problem. All the computers I used have USB 2.0. Two of the PCs are Vista and the other is XP. I am not reinstalling these apps as I do not want to lose saved games progress and other things. Also, some of the music that I sync does not sync well. Some skips here and there as if a scratched CD. I checked the mp3s on my PC and they are perfect.
    What else can I do?

I did the whole authorizing thing and it still doesn't work. But, what I did figure out... If I leave the phone on without putting it to sleep or whatever after sync, it will connect to the Internet over EDGE and freeze my icons for a few minutes, then if I reset the phone my apps work for a day or two.
I'm still getting skips in my music though. The music is perfect on both my PCs.

  • How to recover apps settings after syncing in another itunes?

I plugged in my wife's iphone to my itunes to copy a video from my computer then it synced.  Now, the settings of her previous apps are now gone (i.e. Snoopy Fair has reset).  These apps were also synced from my itunes before.  But the apps she recently downloaded using her own accunt is still there.  Is there a way to restore the apps that reset from where it was before?
I don't she has recently done a backup of her phone as well.
    Please help.  Thanks!

She would have to restore her phone from a backup made while this app data was on her phone.  Note: doing so will revert all settings and data to those contained in the backup.
If she wants to do this, do the following:
Without connecting her phone, open iTunes on her computer, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Now connect her phone, right-click on the name of her phone on the left sidebar of iTunes and choose Restore from Backup, be sure to select the most recent backup of her phone to restore from
Now disconnect her phone from your computer.  Hopefully her phone will be back to the state it was before this happened.
When complete you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.
If she wants the video synced to her phone, copy it to a thumb/usb drive and import it to her iTunes library and sync it to her phone from there.
To avoid this problem in the future only sync with one iTunes library.

  • Apps reappearing after deleting

I have an iPhone 4. I have placed most of my apps in neat little folders. Then when I download a new app the old ones leave their folders and apps that I have deleted reappear filling up the rest of the space on my phone leaving me with no room to add any more apps. I have to go back and delete them again before I can add a new app! This is sooooo frustrating. Does anyone have ay ideas?

I did something that has helped, although I'm not sure it has solved the problem. I deleted from my Itunes library every one of the apps that kept coming back. Make sure you get them all because there may be one app that causing all the problems. I'm not sure. Some of them aren't named as the icon says, which is very frustrating.
Since I did this, I've had a couple come back once, but I've deleted them again (normally) and they didn't return. So far I've been able to leave my "AUTOMATICALLY SYNC NEW APPS" box checked in Itunes.
I'll post here if it starts happening again.

  • Deleted Resources Reappear after AD Sync

Having an issue with resources deleted from the enterprise resource pool showing up again the next day as active resources. These resources have no assignments, are not in any resource plan, and need to be deleted as they are no longer needed. The resources
delete ok with no errors and when the ERP is checked, they are gone. However, the next day they show up again. Running some tests, it looks like the resources are being reactivated after resource AD sync runs. I thoought the resource sync only reactivates
resources if inactive. However, what I am seeing is the resource being reactivated as an active resource even after being deleted. What am I missing and is there some switch that needs to be thrown to make a resource deletion permenant?
    Anyone else run across this?
    Rick Frisby

    Rick,
AFAIK, this is by design. I think you will also need to disable him from AD.
User exists in Active Directory and is a member of the Active Directory group mapped to the Enterprise Resource Pool. The user does not exist in Project Server
A new Project Server resource is created for this user.
    Note:
A Project Server User Account is not created based on this synchronization. The Active Directory user needs to be added to a Project Server security group to create a user account. For more information, seeBest
practices to configure Active Directory groups for Enterprise Resource Pool synchronization in Project Server 2013.

  • Purchased App disappeared after Syncing.

I've purchased a Newsstand(RSS Reader) App from the itunes in iphone.
and I've used it for a while and oneday after I synced, it was gone, from my iphone And the PC Itunes. Only record that shows I had the software is my purchase history.
I didn't make any changes or deleted the app. I only synced iphone to sync music and all of a sudden the app is gone.
I'm not sure if the app was stored in pc itunes from the previous sync, cuz I don't bother to sync very often (SLOW ITUNES).
Anyone know or have suggestion on how I could possibily get my app back? (other than purchasing it again)
    Thanks!
    Message was edited by: fjakl

Just so you know, if you go and "purchase" again, it will tell you that you already bought it and will let you download again for free. You won't see that message until you try to buy it again.
But verify it really is gone off your PC too (go look on your hard drive where it saves apps to (where you have your iTunes library pointing to) as it could still be there).
