Deleting apps waiting

how can i delete apps waiting to download but there's not enough room

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Delete other media from the iPod so you have enough storage
- Download on computer and sync since that requires les storage space.
- Maybe:

- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
  - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I have 3 apps waiting to be accepted.  I don't want them.  How do I delete them?

Where are these apps from?  Are they from App Store?
What are these apps?   Or are they updates to existing apps?
It would help if you filled out your profile to say what machine and OS/IOS system you are using

    Hello Nicke,
    Thank you for your response.
I have enabled the Analyctic and Debug log for the Management and Publishing server and let it run for 30min.
The debug log only shows 1 error when I used iisreset telling me the management server is unavailable (which it indeed was for a brief second). Otherwise it is completely empty.
The analyctic log show the following when I refresh my packages on the client (but don't see any errors in it).
    Handle refresh request
    Get entitled package list
    Get user group list
    Get user group list
    Get entitled package list
    Write package list to XML
    Write package list to XML
    Handle refresh request
Especially the write package list to XML looks interesting, but in the details I don't see anything special/wrong:
The analytic log for the management server only shows Get Publishing Metadata every 5 seconds (The time which the xml files should be refreshed).

    Try this:-
Go to Settings > Security > Developer mode > move white dot to right and accept prompt
Launch Terminal as new icon ( ~ $) will now have appeared and type the following on each line followed by tapping enter ignoring blue italic comments:-
    devel-su
rootme    (password unless altered by user)
    - Reboot the device
    - Open X-Terminal
    devel-su
    rootme
    apt-get update

How does one delete apps on i pad taking too long to load?

This does not work if the App is showing "Waiting" on the I Pad.

  • Trouble deleting apps

How do I delete apps from an iPhone 4 updated to i05? ie no X's... I have tried deleting in iTunes on my Macbook and syncing my phone, but to no avail. Help please?

If there are no x's, do this. Settings>general>usage> wait a second till all your apps come up, then click on the app and you'll see an option for 'delete app'.

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

I have iPad 2 with 8.1.1.  When trying to delete apps, the crosses appear, the icons 'jiggle' but won't delete, then neither the home button or the power button will work, and I have to leave it for 10-15 minutes until it returns to 'normal'.  This has happened the last four times i tried to delete an app.

Hi OldPete71$$$... You are not alone. I am taking my iPad3 to the Apple store later today - I had to wait to get an appointment - for this very problem. This error did not occur until I updated to 8.1.1. I have not tried letting the device sit, I have been doing a hard reboot to recover functionality. If it's any consolation, I *can* delete apps through the iTunes interface, it's just very sloooooow. I can't delete internet shortcuts that I've stored on the home screen this way, though.

  • HT4623 When attempting to update apps on my iPad, it gets as far as "waiting" or "installing" and no further...SO frustrating. I now have 13 Apps waiting....

When trying to update apps, it says "waiting" or "installing " but gets no further.  Some have been like this since January!! What must I do ??

This is my boilerplate response that I have posted many times on this forum. See if any of these suggestions work for you.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. Apps may also be able to be deleted in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.
    6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
    7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • How do I stop updates from reactivating deleted apps?

Every time I update my phone, it brings back apps I've deleted. How do I stop this?

I have posted these suggestions many times and one or another have worked for other users in the past. Give them a try, but YMMV.

  • App "waiting"

This happend after updating to OS 6.  I was notified that some apps had updates, so always, I clicked to update the apps.  But, they have been stuck on "waiting" for over 24 hours now.
I have shut down the iPad, restarted and reset.  The only thing I haven't done is a restore.  Wish I didn't have to.  I can't delete the apps or open them.
    What can I do?

Try these suggestions in the order in which I have typed them.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.

You need to delete and redownload them to do that. This may require repurchasing paid ones.

  • HT1222 Does this program delete apps?

Does the new system iOS 7 delete apps?

Is it the school's iPad or yours? If it's the school's I wouldn't be fooling with trying to update it Besides, both the update and activation servers are being hammered very hard right now with people updating/activating. If you decide to update it and have the permission to do so, wait a few days to let this mad rush clear out. You wouldn't want your iPad to be NOT working because it could not be activated due to the wealth of people do so.
But to answer your question, Apps already on the device should remain on the device if you update the iOS.
