Deleting attachments

10.6.3 STILL does not fix this problem. I have been posting this problem since i upgraded to snow leopard. i am unable to empty the trash in the finder, if the trash contains a file that i sent as an attachment. i get a message saying "file in use". i have to quite mail then empty the trash or use secure empty trash which takes twice as long. i filed a bug report with apple too, no luck. i guess nobody at apple empties their trash which contains files that have been emailed.

Maybe fixed in 10.6.4? You got to be kidding me. It should have been fixed in 10.6.1!
Yeah, you're right, they should have dropped work on stuff like security updates and that guest account bug and gotten right to work fixing a minor bug with a couple easy workarounds that isn't even noticed by many people. (What are you doing that you delete files right after attaching frequently enough to get this annoyed?)
Can we maintain a little perspective, here?

  • Can't delete attachments in mac mail

On the mac mail I used to be able to select a mail, then press “Command” button and “M” to delete an attachment (without deleting the whole e-mail, just delete the attachment). But right now, when I try to delete attachments in some e-mails by pressing those two buttons, it just make a “ding” sound and wouldn’t delete anything. Can you please tell me how to solve this problem?
Since this problem only happening with certain e-mails, I thought it’s probably something wrong with the attachment. So, I forward that same e-mail back to me (including the attachment and everything), I can delete that attachment by pressing those two buttons. So, I am guess there is nothing wrong with the file that has been attached.

I'm not on 10.6 at the moment to see what might be the problem, did it wok in this version before, or was it an earlier OSX version?

  • Deleted attachments keep reappearing

    Hi
I am using Thunderbird 31.1.1 on a Mac Pro. I am having a problem deleting attachments.
I decided to move to Thunderbird as Apple Mail is so clunky when removing attachments. Thunderbird seems much smoother and more intuitive. However, once I have deleted an attachment (whilst retaining the original message), the message reloads moments later with the attachment still there.
I have sorted my "all" mailbox by size, and when I delete the largest attachments, the mail drops down the ranks and essentially disappears, as you would expect, but then it will pop back up again with the attachment.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Matt
This is what I assumed as well, so I had a play around with the IMAp settings in Gmail. I switched the auto expunge to the non default setting "Auto-Expunge off - Wait for the client to update the server.", and it seemed to work for an afternoon, so I merrily went away and deleted a load of attachments.
Unfortunately, they have all just popped back up again.

  • What exactly happens when you Delete Attachments in Mail?

I am using Mail with a GMail account and have set up a number of folders (labels) there. I notice that when I Delete attachments in Mail, the tendency is for the folder/label information for the message gets lost. Specifically, the original message disappears and the revised message, sans attachment, can only be found in the All Mail folder. This happens even when I delete attachments in messages that are only stored in the Inbox. Is this supposed to happen?

  • Deleted attachments are not removed from Content Server

We have setup Content Server to store business documents and create attachments in documents in CO. Both types are stored ok and can be opened without any problems. After deleting them though, they disappear from the Attachment List but when looking in CS, attachments created on the document still exist in CS. Stored business documents on the other hand are removed properly.
Looking at statistics in CSADMIN shows that the deletion of the created attachment does not increment the "delete" counter.
Any ideas on why the created attachments are not removed from CS upon deletion?
    Thanks

We have solved this issue now. By design, the attachments are not removed directly from the content server upon deletion; Instead you will need to run report RSBCS_REORG to completely remove them from the Content Server.

  • Deleting attachments in a modul pool

    Hi Gurus,
Here in this case I am using GOS..
Say I have a change transaction. I went into that transaction in change mode. In this transaction I can attach any docs. If I open the attachment in change mode and edit something and save it, it perfectly saves and comes back to the transaction in change mode. Now I donw want to save my changes and hence comes out of the transaction without saving, but by now whatever I have changed in the attachment are already saved even though I didnot save my transaction.
Now I am trying to attach the documents using FM: SO_WIND_ATTACHMENT_CREATE_API1(as my purpose is not solved in using GOS). So individually I am creating the attachments, editing. Now I want to delete the attachment.
Question: Is there any function module to delete such attachments??
    Thanks in advance..
Please revert back for any clarifications..
    Regards,
    Santhosh

    hi,
You can use following FM's --
    SO_OBJECT_DELETE
    SO_OBJECT_DELETE_ALL
I am assuming that you have the Object ID/ Fol ID available at the time of calling "deletion functionality"
    Thanks,
    Amit

  • Deleting attachments from SAP documents (FB02)

I am in need to control the action of 'deleting/removing' attachments from documents, when entered via FB02.
I believe the authorization object for attached documents is S_BDS_DS.
Does anyone how to 'enable' or 'disable' this activity ?
--- When run FB02 or FB03, at the upper corner you click on the 'Services for Object' button,
--- Then, you select the 'Attachment List' option
--- Next, you have a new window with a list of attachments, if any
Within that window there is the 'delete (recycle bin) button.
    How can I activate/deactivate it ?
    Best regards,
    Tom

Hari, thank you for your reply!
My question is "How to enable/disable the action of deleting the attachment" ?
Once the window that lists the attachment(s) opens up (via FB02) , how do I show / don't show the recycle bin button ?
    Best regards,
    Tom

  • Is there a way to delete attachments without S_OC_ROLE, ADMINISTRATOR value

    Hello,
Our PM analyst has reported a need for PM Users to be able to manage attachments for several areas.  Specifically, they are not able to delete outdated attachments or attachments done by former employees or those who have been transferred.  When we ran an authorization trace, it indicated that object S_OC_ROLE was required with the the OFFADMI field value set to ADMINISTRATOR. However, we discovered that this object and value would allow these users to delete any file in the Shared folder in the Business Workplace, which is not good.
Has anyone found a way around the requirement for this object and value?
These are the areas of PM where attachments are being used:
    Task Lists u2013 (General - IA05, IA06 Functional Location - IA11, IA12)
    Functional Location u2013 (IL01, IL02)
    Work Orders u2013 (IW31, IW32)
    Notifications u2013 (Iw21 u2013 Iw22)
    Thank you and Regards,

  • Delete attachments linked with a business object

    Hi All,
I have added some pdf attachments to a business object using Archivelink. I am making use of FM - ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE.
This worked. Now we need to either add a retention period for these attachments or archive them or delete them after a certain period of time. I tried some ways till now.. but they havent worked
    1. Setting a delete date in my FM ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE :
    CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE'
          EXPORTING
            ar_object                      = <archiveobj>
            DEL_DATE                       = '20100624'
            object_id                      = l_arc_doc
However when I look in OAAD, this delete date doesnt show up!
    2. Using standard reports - RSBCS_REORG, RSSO_DELETE_PRIVATE and RSSODFRE. However my attachments are not even getting selected to be deleted.
    3. I also tried with FM - archive_object_delete and ARCHIVOBJECT_DELETE. Here I am getting an error that states-
Error during import of physical document from cluster table SOFFCONT1.
Any ideas towards this ? All your answers are appreciated.
    Thanks, Liz

    All,
Minutes after I wrote up this question, I tweaked a way to delete the PDF using FM -ARCHIVOBJECT_DELETE. The archive doc id to be given here is from the 'Link' table one would have configured in transaction OAC3 (part of Archivelink config).
I would still like to know if there is a cleaner way to delete the attachments from a business object.
Also is there is way to delete the 'link' from transaction OAAD.
    Your input is appreciated!
    Thanks, Liz

  • How to Let Reader Users Delete Attachments?

    Hello,
I am having a problem with Acrobat Pro X. I am creating a PDF file that has multiple attachments. Since I have the pro version, I can open the file and delete any attachment I want. But, when I open the document using only Adobe Reader X on another computer, I can't find a way to delete any of the attachments altogether.
I have turned off all security settings, etc.
Is there a way to extend this feature to Adobe Reader users? I want them to simply be able to delete any attachments of their choosing from the PDF file and save it per their specifications.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Pixby

    Man! That's retarded!
I am going to punch Adobe Acrobat right in the face!
Is there absolutely no workaround for this?

  • Inbound email - delete attachments/content?

We are using ERMS to process inbound mails. Occasionally, agents  will receive unsolicited attachments which we would like (from a legal point of view) to remove from the email.
Is there a standard solution to allow for specific email attachments to be deleted?
    BR
    Sham Haque

I managed to delete the physical attachment
inbound emails and their attachments are handled by KPRO (Knowledge Provider) - the field SOOD-EXTCT has the value "K" for these entries
KPRO handles storage and access in quite a well documented fashion - if you know where to look!
I found these 2 resources online:
Document Management with KPro - SAP Knowledge Provider (BC-SRV-KPR) - SAP Library
There is a list of FMs including one called SDOK_PHIO_DELETE.
To get the PHIO ID, I followed the guide here:
SAP Content Management - Link between SAP Objects and originals - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki
I hope this is useful for someone else - and gives us a starting point for creating a custom report

  • Is it possible to delete attachments from the workflow?

    Hi,
Í have this workflow where people have to create attachments to a workflow. The workflow continues to another agent but might come back later. The original agent then has delete one or more of the attachments. (and maybe create new ones)
From the Workplace i can click on the paperclip (manage attachments) and then i get the option to "delete attachment", however if i choose that option i get an message saying: "no attachments that can be deleted"
Now i know that attachments can not be deleted by other agents but i thought that the agent who created the attachment could delete it again.
Any suggestion how to deal with this?
    Thx
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
Use this wapi to delete the attachment in the workitem. "SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_DELETE".
But this Function module needs the workitem id as the mandatory parameter.
Hope this is helpful to you.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Delete attachments when vo record deleted

Does anyone have a code example for deleting all attachments associated with a vo record before deleting the the vo record?
I searched the forum but couldn't find any post for cascading delete of attachments or orphaned attachments.
I have a page with a single row region with an attachments table. I have a delete button that deletes the row. I want to delete all the associated attachments from the attachments table when the vo ro is deleted. If I just delete the vo record, the attachments are orphaned. The attachments are still visible in the fnd_attached_documents table.

I searched for OAAttachmentServerUtils in the java doc for OA Framework v. 11.5.10 (903813_1560) but could not find the referenced class.
    Is it available in 11i.ATG_PF.H.RUP5?
