Deleting Characteristic / key figures

Hello,
It would be truely helpful if any one can let me know the program / function module which can delete 10 or more characteristics / key figures at a time instead of deleting one by one.

How to Selectively Delete ONE Key Figure from Cube....

Hi:
On a Daily basis (Via Process Chain), I need to do the following:
1. DELETE Single Key Figure from my planning cube. When the "PYMNT DATE" is greater than System Date, then delete the
key Figure.
2. Once Deleted, LOAD the same Single Key Figure from another cube when the PYMNT DATE is GT System Date.
How can I do this in a Program. What would be the code for this? Need help with ABAP.

Add a comment to a query cell (Characteristic / Key Figure Combination)

Hi Gurus
Essentially we are attempting to allow users add a comment to a number they enter in an IP planning screen.
The issue we have is that when we add the comment using the standard right click functionality it is stored against the basic key figure, not the characteristic/key figure combination. This means that the same comment will appear everywhere that key figure is used.
Is there a way to make comments specific to characteristic/key figure combinations so that they would show against only that cell?

Hello,
have you tried the GRID reporting. if the structure of your report is fix you can use a formular for each cell.
In we reporting you have the possibility to change the output of the report with the web table interface (user exit)
I have no other idea.

Deleting Restricted Key Figures

I've tried to delete a restricted key figure but after confirming that I do want to delete it, it still appears in the Restricted Key Figures list!
Is there something I'm not doing?

If you have got confirmation message that the KF has beed deleted and it is still showing in query designer, then Logoff from Bex and relogin and see.
If you have not got any such message then check whether this RKF is used in some other queries and remove it from these queries and then delete it.

   i hope that u r trying to delete K.F directly. here i am giving steps to do...
1. first u check that ur k.F contains data
     if it carrind data ..first u need to delete the
     perticular data
2. now u r able to delete the K.F
change the data type
i think hink you need to adjust this in SE14(DB

Report Desinger: Binding error for characteristic / Key Figure

Hi,
I am getting the error "Binding error for characteristic: Reference to characteristic".
I have created a report using a query and I have to change the query as per requirement, removed a characteristic.
Now when I execute a report, getting Data binding error.
Does system not changes the report if we change the provider query?
How can this issue be handled apart from deleting existing report and creating a new one?
Appreciate your help in advance.

Amit,
First, try doing a save as on your report and save it under a new name. Delete the old one, then re-save it as the same name as before. Then, go in and clear cache so that it will re-build all references in the query. This should remove the error and you won't have to rebuild anything.

Why date as characteristic/Key figure

Hi,
I need a real reason why does one choose to add date as KF or Characteristic ?
I understand that Date KF shows the no. of days since 01.01.0001 to the present day.
But when I do reporting - I do not see the same. (using BeX)
Can you please explain a bit more.

there is s difference in the reporting...
if your date is characteristics, then you can create variables, etc,,,that means all the properties for characteristics is applicable for the same...
incase the date is KF, then properties of KF is applicable to date, e.g calculate the date difference, etc...

Non Cumulative Key Figure help

Hi All,
I am in need of setting up a non-cumulative key figure in a cube. When I load from my ODS everything is ok, however during a delta process, this field at times gets
summarized when in fact it should be static or in an overwite mode. Can someone provide some advice/comments on how I can set up my key figure field in a basic cube to be static yet be able to be used in a calculation for a query? I do not want to apply any functionality such as aggregation, average etc. In R/3 LIS functionality, you basically set up a characteristic Key Figure, how can this be done in BW ?

Check if you ahve declared the KF properly and also check the query which you use ...
Load data and then compare with the query at the lowest level of data in the ODS. Then you will know if the update rules are correct.

Hi,
You can try to create a formula variable of type replacement path and supply this char to pull the value from. Evaluate this value as a boolean (1 or 0 for if there is a value or not). Then you can create a new formula using this formula variable and your CKF. If the result is 1, then you get the value of the CKF, or if the indicator returns 0, then you get 0 as the result.

How to create a document on a characteristic and key figure combination?

I will need to create for my customer a document on a characteristic and key figure combination. I don't know yet which BW objects will be concerned, but I'm trying to understand how it works.
1) I call the document screen in RSA1.
2) I select InfoProvider data.
3) I click on Create, enter a name and a description and go to the next register (Log.DOc.Properties).
Question: What do I need to select here?
According to SAP Help, the following has to be maintained:
InfoProvider: How can I get my cube diplayed in the list?
Query: Same question. But is it necessary to select a query?
Key Figure: OK
All characteristics for which the Characteristic is Document Property indicator is set: OK
Hide Name: OK

SNP PR Deletion based on another key figure

Folks,
I want to delete Purchase requisition ( Distribution receipt - Planned) in APO-SNP based on the value of another key figure.
for example if the another key figure value is 1 in a particular time bucket, then i want the PR of that bucket to be deleted.
I have designed macros incorporting this logic i.e if another key figure value is 1, then make the Purchase requisition quantity as 0.
But when i execute this macro, system gives the message " Error saving Transport requisitions to live cache" and PR quantity does not become 0.
I have also tried using RLCDEL but it is not possible to selectively delete the PR using the value of another key figure.
Is there any method ( Macro or non-macro) through which i can achieve this ? Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

I assumed the macro solution should work...
A macro can create orders, so logically it should be able to delete. Unfortunately I can't test it now.
Could you please do the following?
if you delete an order manually in interactive, and refresh, what happens?
does your order come back?
If yes then the issue is not directly linked to the macro...
Then could you check in SPRO - SNP global settings, do you 'Heur: Order Update' being set to 'Delta Mode'?
If yes, then set it a "complete mode"

Behaviour of key figures when characteristic is removed

Hi guys,
in one query I have built it is a business requirement to use key figures where a summation doesn´t make sense and where it does. A summation doesn´t make sense when for example the current credit limit for the current month is necessary. I have also turn over where the summation makes sense for the current month.
For the key figures where it doesn´t makes sense I am using the function "last value" because the last value of for example June 2011 is needed.
It works only when the characteristic 0CalMonth is present in the query. When 0CalMonth is removed on those key figures a summation is done.
For example:
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 0CalMonth 05.2011 Credit limit 40000
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 0CalMonth 06.2011 Credit limit 10000
Result Credit limit 10000
Removing of 0CalMonth
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 Credit limit 40000
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 Credit limit 10000
Result Credit limit 50000
My wish is to show the current value of 06.2011 even if 0CalMonth is removed:
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 Credit limit 40000
0Comp_Code 0020 0Customer 01 Credit limit 10000
Result Credit limit 10000
Is that possible when key figures are used in one query where summation and last value is needed?
Does anybody know this problem and can provide a suggestion for a solution?

You can create new key figure for this & add it in a cube. In update rule for this key figure you can create the 'IF ELSE' formula as required based on the 2 different key figures. Or you can write routine also for this field.

How to add Characteristic text to Key figures in Bex report?

The result set of a report is like this

Payment amount      Payment          2000           4000          1200         1400
                    Recovery         1200           1400           100          200
Commission          Payment          4000           5000          2000         2000
                    Recovery         2000           2000           100          100
Total               Payment          1500           1200          5000         4000
                    Recovery          600            200          1000          200
The first Column Payment amount, Commission and Total are key figures.
Payment and recovery are text of a Characteristic Infoobject ( Flag type : X = Payment, # = Recovery ).
Now the requirement is not to have Characteristic Infobject as Column but to have them as text beside keyfigure.
LIike this

Payment amount (Payment)             2000           4000          1200         1400
Payment amount (Recovery)            1200           1400           100          200

How to achieve this kind of result?

Create Restricted Keyfigures to achieve this requirement.
create 2 RKF for Payment Amount Keyfigure
Create RKF1 with Payment Amount keyfigure and restrict flag type with "X" and then
Create RKF2 with Payment Amount keyfigure and restrict flag type with "#".
And use the RKF's in the query.
Similarly create two RKF's for each Keyfigure used in the query and restrict it with flag type.

How to convert a key figure to Characteristic in BEx.

There is no feature in BEx to do that. Closest feature is conditions. You could look at creating a virtual characterisitc in the cube.
