Deleting chat history - abdroid problem with

I do not like my chat history. Not all messages should read children while they play the game. How to delete chat history from my phone with android?

Yes, I had seen that post prior to posting mine, but thanks.
That path seems to be specific to Windows XP. I was wondering if anynoe knew the path for Windows 7...

To delete the local (!) chat history in a conversation do the following:
Open the "Recent" tab (iPhone & iPod) / sidebar (iPad).
    Tap the "Edit" button
You will see a red remove icon next to each conversation. Tap it to remove.
Note: This will only delete the local chat history. If you log in to Skype from a different device the chat content will be synced there. This is how Skype chat sync is designed currently (Latest Version only).
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

  • Unable to delete chat history

I'm going to bring this up again. I spent an hour deleting, reinstalling and clearing data. Yet chat history comes back. This violates my privacy. Please do something to issue.

Hi, MichelleTurns in the post described how to delete chat messages. However, it works only on the local device where you're removing conversations without affecting your Android device. This happens because of the reason https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12381/what-is-the-cloud
So you need to delete chat messages permanently from Skype server, only in this way your chat history will never come back. You could do this with Delete Skype History Network Edition program which deletes chat conversations from remote Skype server so they'll never appear again on all your devices where you're signed in to Skype incl. Can I retrieve deleted bbm chat history when save history was enabled. I tried going to filers folders. Clicked on I'm but the contacts pin is not showing. Is there any other way that I can retrieve these chats. Please help. Urgent

    Hi 801010,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Do you have a backup file containing the chat history? If not, once you have deleted the BBM chat history, it cannot be retrieved. Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Cheers.

  • Is it possible to retrieve deleted chat history?

If chat history is accidentally deleted can it be retrieved? If so - how?  Thanks in advance

Passwords are not stored in the browsing history. If you delete your passwords, history or cookies it is not possible to recover them.

  • Blocking users from deleting chat history

I am a system admin and our users are suing skype IM. Some users are using the skype IM for their personal use. We want to view all the chat history of all the skype users. So, I want to block the users from deleting the skype chat history.

Any chance anyone from Skype can respond to this??  The lacking control over skype as a system admin is the main reason Skype is lacking adoption in the enterprise.  We need a simple chat and video call solution both internally and externally but Skype might be out automatically if there is no way to control the chat history.  Primarily we need to stop users from deleting the history, and the ability to retrieve the history remotely.

  • How to delete chat history for one single person?

I have other chats from suppliers I need to keep. Personal chats there is no need to keep.
    Why is this so difficult?

    Hi All.
Been browsing everything to do with this, and absolutely there should be a "delete history" button as per PC version.
I stumbled across something interesting which I hope helps and its a conglomeration of a few things (I have the S4!)
I found out that IF you used MSN or Windows live then you have been asked to join the 2 together?... No?.. Well I had Skype 1st and also MSN.  Anyways... This is how I got rid on mine and it did take a couple of goes because it left one conversation behind.
First as per othersw, go into settings>more>app manager>skype.  Then in this order: clear cache: clear data, then force stop the app. This will reset everything pasword wise.
Now go on PC.  Sign in to account(s) one at a time and clear any/all history even if there appears to be none (for me was Skype and Microsoft Passport).
Sign out of both. Start up Skype again and sign in as normal.
It worked for me after a couple of goes (I think the force stop was the thing that did it!) and I have nice clean message history.
But come on Skype.. how difficult can it be to have a "clear history" button/setting....
May the force be with you!

  • Private Settings - Chat History Not Fully Deleted

    Hello,
I've skype installed on different machines - desktop, laptop, iphone and ipad.
I've set the Keep History to None and always clear my IM history every few hours. I've notice that even after clearing my history on my skype on desktop, when i logged on to my skype on iphone or ipad or laptop, the IM history that I've cleared on other device will appear. This also happens when i logged-in to any of the device, cleared the IM history and login to another device. Sometimes is shown the history up to few weeks back. I wonder why the Keep History=None and Clear History only works on that particular machine itself but appearing when login to other device.
Also happen when someone in my contact list logged-out then goes back online, the recent deleted chat (few hours before) with that contact sometimes re-appearing.
I've notice this issue for quite sometimes and wonder if any of the members having/notice the same issue?

I too am having a similar problem.  I have Skype installed on a MacBook, Galaxy S4 and a smart TV.
In just the last few days I have started receiving IM messages/conversations I had between 8 - 20 hours earlier again but only to my phone.  They appear in the chat history and the time stamp is the current time, not the time the message was originally sent.  Therefore, each message is shown in the history twice with two different time stamps.
The messages that have been resent usually stay in the IM history for a short period of time, up to 15 minutes, and then disappear so the history reverts back to how it was originally. When longer conversations start to come through again it is irritating being barraged with constant alerts and on one occasion it crashed my phone. Additionally, it causes confusion if I reply or ring in response to a message that actually was not sent at that time.
I have cleared chat histories on the computer, used app manager to clear data, uninstalled and reinstalled Skype on my phone but nothing has solved the problem.  I signed out of Skype last night on all devices, yet this morning I received notification of an IM on my phone so I am guessing it is also logging itself on.
I have had no choice but to uninstall Skype from my phone, which is unfortunate as besides a few delayed messages I have never had any issues with it previously.
Although there is no apparent connection to my own logging off/on activities, there may be to those of the contacts who sent the original messages.

  • Full Chat History Accessible on All Clients

Looking through the threads about chat history it appears Skype only syncs 30 days of chat history on all devices. I can understand a complete sync of history on all devices being a problem since sync implies the actual history would be stored on each device. But, regardless of sync, we should still be able to get access to all our chat history no matter what client we're using. If sync is an issue, can't Skype just not sync anything older than 30 days, but allow access to ALL chat history when you're "connected"? For me, this is probably the ONLY reason that I still use Google Hangouts. If Skype could add access to ALL chat history from all (or most) I would gladly switch to Skype as my primary chat app.

If i had a bbm contact and deleted it is there any way i can find the full chat history i had with this person if my ''save chat history" was disabled??

  • Vine.co can not watch videos on other browsers do not have the problem with firefox firefox there just did not work, delete cookies, history

vine.co can not watch videos on other browsers do not have the problem with firefox firefox there just did not work, delete cookies, history

I think this problem may be caused by Yahoo's changes making it incompatible with the klatest version of FireFox.
This is suddenly affecting many many people who use Firefox and are members of Yahoo Groups. All these people say they themselves changed nothing and have not been locked out before when using Firefox. But suddenly, within the last week, they are.
What did Mozilla do or what did Yahoo do to cause this problem? I can say that I was not blocking cookies and after trying a number of things to fix it, I went to Yahoo's home page and navigated to my group from here.
This problem is not anything a user did. Either Firefox is at fault or Yahoo is. I want to know which company is at fault and when they are going to fix it.

  • Had problem with bookmarks, history, back button and google links not working.

For the last five days i've had problems with firefox. First, i noticed that it was running incredibly slowly and then that all the links in the google search were not working. Then i noticed that neither was the history, bookmarks or back button. I went on to facebook chat to ask for help. First, I was told to reinstall firefox, which didn't work. Then i was told to do a "clean" install where you rename the old firefox folder in the programs folder so that it makes sure when it's installed that everything is new and nothing is corrupted. That didn't work either. I then disabled my antivirus software and firewall to see if that was causing the problem. It was not. Then I installed an anti-malware program to remove any adware or spywar,e which it did remove from my computer, but it didn't solve the problem. The chat person was at a loss and I don't blame him/her because so was I.
The reason I'm writing this is in case anyone else has the same problem. The only way I solved it was first by uninstalling and making sure to check the little box asking if you want all personal data and such associated with firefox also removed (which removes cookies as well) and then I finally thought to delete all the cookies from the rest of my computer also. Once all the cookies were gone and i had fully uninstalled firefox and personal data, I reinstalled it with a newly downloaded file and it is once again functioning properly. Hope this is helpful to anyone who's been ripping their hair out. :)
