  • Amount conversion from company code to another currency?

    Hi all,
I want to develop a report report in which I need to convert the amount from company code currency to foreign currency.
but before that should it be converted from company code currency to group currency which is standardized one?
means suppose I have company code currency GBP , grp currency USD and user selects EUR for amount currency.
then should I go like this: GBP to USD then USD to EUR.
    I am using the FM : CONVERT_AMOUNT_TO_CURRENCY.

  • Company currency does not differ from company code currency

    Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie in SAP FI. Forgive me if this is a rpet pos. I could not find an answer using search.
    Here is my problem:
I defined a compay with currecny as USD. I defned two company codes one with currency USD and the other
    with currency INR.
I assigned compay code 1 (with USD as currency) to cmpany successfully.
However, when I tr t assign the secnd company ( wih INR currency)it gives me the following error:
"Company currency does not differ from company code currency".
How do I solv this problem.
    Thaks,
    Cheruvu

    hi
when you defined your company currency as USD and Company code currency is also USD therefore it is not shown any warning but second company code currency taken as INR system  expressing warning since company currency and company code currency differs as company stands for group for consolidation point of view
therefore it is only warning not error you can just enter and further configure nothing will be adverse

  • OBR2: Error while deleting G/L Account from Company code

    Hello,
I want to delete some G/L accounts created for a specific company code
    using Transaction Code OBR2.
I am giving follwing input in the screen of OBR2
    Delete G/L Account - XXXXXXX ( G/L account No.)
With General master Data in company code - XXXX ( Company Code)
Tick ( X) on Delete per deleetion flag only.
When i am deleting this G/L account, i am getting an error message as
    follows:
" Reset the number ranges if necessary" Message no. BL001
I am not getting any Long text for this error message.
As this is an impact on other Company codes and at Chart of Account
level, before i do mass changes, i would like to confirm why this error
    message is coming.
Thanking you for providing me solution.
    Regards,
    Jignesh

    Dear Jignesh,
The program SAPF019 (trans. OBR2) is used prior to going "live" to delete customer / vendor and G/L account master data which was used during pre-production testing and is not needed in the
    Production system.
Before using this report, please read carefully the online documentation of the report via SE38 > sapf019.
This program is intended to delete test data prior to productive start.
Once the production indicator is set in a company code, deletion in this company code with this program is no longer possible.
Another option to deleting the GL master data is to use the archiving function (transaction SARA, object FI_ACCOUNT).
Please also review the following attached note for further information:
0013583 - General G/L account master data cannot be deleted
    I hope it helps you

  • Local currency vs company code currency

    Hi
Can company code currency is diff. from local currency ?
In 90 % cases co. code is always local ..
    Thank you
    Vedavatee

Exactly prakash, but is there a consequence by not using company code currency as the local if we want to produce reporting but with the hard currency ?
What is the difference between using "local" (used day to day) currency as company code currency and using it as hard currency ? Is there an issue to convert exchange rates to produce statutory reporting ?
I hope my question is clear.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Changing GL a/c currency, maintained in foreign currency, to Company Code currency

Hello Friends – We have got few GL Accounts maintained in foreign currencies and posting also made to these accounts.  Now, for some reasons, we need to change their currency to Company Code currency.
We have referred SAP Notes – 146824 and they say that it is possible to change the currency to local currency.
My doubt is that when I change the currency, I should reclass the balance to zero, once done, and then reclass the balances back.
Or I can directly change the currency?
    Can you pls advice.
    Thanks

    Hi
There is absolutely no problem in changing an account currency from foreign to local currency. This is because, when you have the account currency as local currency, transactions in any currency can be posted to the account including the foreign currency in which the account was previously maintained. You do not need to set/reset the account balance for this change. Please also look at the below links which are helpful:

  • Transfer from COmpany code to another Central Person..

    COmpany COde      Number Range
    HIL1           1000 - 50000
    HIL2          100000 - 200000
Transfer EMployee 1111 from Company COde HIL1 to HIL2. SInce it is not possible to change his Number from 1111 to 100000 series it is not possible, I suggested to Seprate that employee from HIL1 and rehire in HIL. Now client wants all thta master data to be copied into HIL2 company code. Please adise how to handle this...
    Thanks
    Ravi.

    Hi SAPHCM,
You are seeing some of the problems when you use Personnel Number to indicate something other than a specific individual.  You should not separate blocks of PERNRs by Company Code or any other grouping for the reasons you are now seeing - people get tranferred and the PERNR should not change.  The Organizational Assignment infotype contains all the fields necessary to separate out employees - PERNR should not be used for this.
If the Company Codes are in different countries, you can use the action "Cross Country Transfer".  This will retain all the personal data infotypes for an employee while it terminates him from one country and hires him into the other.  A better way to handle cross country transfers is "Global Employment".  If you are in 4.7 and above you can activate this and it will allow you to have more than one personnel number for an employee.  Here you use CP-Central Person to identify the employee.
Again, remove the separate blocks of numbers from being assigned by Company Code and your situation would be resolved by a simple transfer action.

  • Ledger group currency  Vs Company code currency

    Hello Experts,
Can any one tell me the difference between Ledger group currencies and Company code currencies in New GL in ECC 6.0?
Also can anyone explain me any scenario where and why we use different currencies in Ledger group and Company code ?
    Regards,
    Sriram

    Hi,
In New GL we can use different currencies for ledgers. We can maintain 3 types of currencies for each ledger. 1st one should be company code currency. You can maintain additional 2 currencies as you choice which assigned to co code and group. You can generate the report in different currencies for each ledger
    Thanks & Regards

  • Transfer Pricing Utilizing Third Local Currency in Company Code?

I was wondering whether utilizing the third local currency under the "Additional Local Currencies for Company Code" section of the IMG would not allow you to use Supply Chain going forward because that third local currency must be saved for Transfer Pricing in PCA?
I ask because we have an Company Code that's local currency is EUR, and the group currency is USD.  However, we also need this specific entity to report by GBP for consolidation with the UK entity.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Exactly prakash, but is there a consequence by not using company code currency as the local if we want to produce reporting but with the hard currency ?

  • Query on Additional Local Currencies for Company Code

    Hi Experts,
Can I know whether there are any differences in the way SAP logic applies to the following currency types?
    1. Hard currency 40
    2. Index-based currency 50

    Hi,
Yes I am aware that we can maintain 2 additional parallel currencies for company code.
    Hard currency
Hard currency is a country-specific second currency which is used in countries with high inflation.
    Index-based currency
Index-based currency is a country-specific fictitious currency which is required in some countries with high inflation for external reporting (for example, tax returns).
But, are there any differences in standard SAP logic between these currencies or it is the same?

  • Date format  from Company code

    Hi Experts,
I want to pick the date formate from company code and print it in invoice.can any tell me where i can find the date formate in the company code and what is the T-code for that.
    Thanks in Advance..

actually, the date format is maintained to the country only not to the company code. So if u want to change the date format, u can change that in the country where ur company code exists
    The Tr. code is OY01
