Deleting Document Files

Since upgrading to Windows 7, users are reporting documents no longer open in Contribute, but rather, the associated program (Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word or Excel, etc.), which is necessary for documents to be deleted. We believe this to be a desktop setting as our settings open the files in Contribute. Has any one else run into this issue and if so, what was the correction to the desktop settings?

I wonder what your computing environment is. Is your account being administrated by another account? Are you working in an account subject to "Parental Controls"?

File Upload - Delete Documents

Hi all,
how can I delete single files of a Document Info Record. Only found BAPI to delete the entire DIR.
Add. INFO:
The Upload is done in the Document Management System (/cv01-2-3-4n) by a BSP application / BAPI_DOC_CREATE and CHECKIN .

Hi Christoph,
- read Document Info Record with BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_GETDETAIL2. Table documentfiles contains your files.
- check out the file you want to delete using BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTSET2.
- use BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 to change the Document Info Record. Table documentfiles must contain your files including the one you want to delete. Before calling the BAPI, set field 'deletevalue' to 'X' in the record, that represents the file you want to delete.
Dont' forget to COMMIT WORK.

I'm pretty certain that it gets deleted as well. If you try and open that mobile documents folder, it takes you to the iCloud drive folder. I've been searching for this same issue for the last 24 hours also as I inadvertently deleted my Keynote files stored on iCloud drive thinking I was just temporarily deleting Keynote from my iPad when upgrading to the latest iOS 8 version. (I needed space and thought, "Oh, I'll just reinstall later... Turns out I was in the iCloud storage area, not in my iPad storage area at the time and therefore deleted all my iCloud stored presentations. From every device.)

I am unable to call up a folder from my documents files in pages. I haven't accessed it in a while but did not delete it and now cannot find it either through finder or a search of all saved documents. Not in my trash either. Where did I hide it?!?

Try Find Any File (also available in the Mac App Store). This will find hidden & invisible files as well as those in the various Libraries.

I am getting above error while deleting a file which is in a folder which inturn in workspace

Here is the problem I have with deleting my folder. I had created a WD project TaxTool and and added the DC to my SC. There were obviously some checkedout activities. Being new to this, I deleted the project directly without checking in the activities. Now I have folder TaxTool/_comp with nothing underneath on the DTR server and on my client. I am unable to checkout TaxTool for delete but the checkout of _comp folder fails in NWDS with the following error:

Can't save or delete documents to desktop

I created a read only word document and then disabled read only. But the disabling the read only doens't stick. It keeps reverting back to read only. I did this because I was having trouble saving the file (don't recall why). Now I can't delete the file. Mac asks for my password which I do and it makes the dropping a file in the trash noise but the file doesn't go away.
Now I can't save files to the desk top, only to my user folder, documents and drop box.
Now when I try to save a new Word file I get the following message: can't create this file and the suggested reasons are HD full, or write protected or damaged. I can't figure out which of this issues is the problem.
When i try to resave an existing Excel file as a different file I get the following message: file name path doesn't exist, being used, or read only can't access the file HD:User:my name: desktop.

Click on the desktop, choose Get Info from the File menu, uncheck the Locked box, and give yourself Read and Write access under Sharing & Permissions.

You can delete files in either of the two ways:
1. Go to the documents tab in the File Browser -> long press on the pdf file that you want to delete - > delete the file
2. Go to the documents tab -> Click on the Edit button in the top bar -> select the check boxes next to the files that have to be deleted -> Click on the trash icon in the top bar to delete the file.

You wrongly mentioned system admin instead of content admin
Go to Content administration not in the system administration
if u delete the file manually in the portal you can go with
go to Content administration -> KM Content -> go to Particular document -> just tick the check box which doc u want delete -> go to selection -> u will find delete .

I download confidential info & save to a secured flash drive; how can I delete the file from "downloads" after that?

I am a mental health professional. My supervisor emails me confidential information as Word documents, which I download using Firefox. When the download is complete, I open the document and save it to my secured flash drive. I would like to then delete the file from my computer, so the flash drive has the only copy, to protect my clients' privacy. The only directions I can find are for deleting the entry from the downloads list, but not the file itself.

There is technology known as RMS which you could set series of policies like only members in the company could access certain documents and if someone copy them and attempt to run them in another PC or outside company, it won't work. Take a look at:

Go into BlackBerry Link and click on the BlackBerry and then click on Options. Make sure you have Music, Pictures, Videos and Documents checkmarked for synchronization. Once these are checked, try to remove the files.

Delete a file from a NAS

I have NAS connected to my system. Part of it holds many wav files that are 'linked' to my iTunes Library. On the last iTunes/Lion upgrade(?) iTunes did a bit of a runaway option and started trying to move all my wav files into the iTunes music folder. I stopped this and took a few hours to put it all back as it should be.
However... I now have 3 files in a directory on my NAS that have r- - r -- - r-- - as their attributes - while ALL the rest have rw-rw-rw-
Now I want to delete these files and have tried everything i can think of to do so - to no avail.
So - I've tried Finder - Get info: this tells me I have custom access and does not allow me to change the attributes.
I've been on terminal and sudo rm the files, no success
sudo chmod -N -no success
sudo chgrp - no success
and various other commands including removing the chg flags etc - all with no success.
My working assumption is that iTunes 'locked' the files while 'moving' them - and I killed iTunes before it could unlock these three.
Apple support have tried some of the obvious options but wanted me to pay for 'real' support....
So, any ideas...?
