Deleting e-mail on iPod Touch 2

I have an aol account on my iPod. The e-mail is working fine on my e-mail and everything else as well. No WiFi problems with my home setup.
My problem is that I can't seem to delete my messages that I no longer want. When I try to place the message in the trash it goes there but than I get a message it can't delete the message, etc. Is there any way to delete these messages. I of course can delete messages from my iMac or Notebook with no problem.

I had the same problem when trying to delete my AOL mail after I took the 2.2 upgrade. This worked for me - I imagine it would work the same on a Mac:
1. Log onto your AOL account on your PC.
2. In the My Folders tab on the left, add a new folder named Trash.
3. Close out of AOL.
4. Sync your iPod. (Don't know if this is necessary, but it's what I did.)
5. Open your Mail on your iPod Touch. You will now have a Trash mailbox, right below your Sent mailbox.
6. Now when you open a message and click on the trash can at the bottom of the screen, your message goes to the Trash mailbox. From there you can delete it.
Don't know why the extra step is necessary, but it's the only way I've been able to delete mail. Hope this helps.

How do I delete an email account on my iPod touch? The email account is with my ISP.
Thanks in advance for your help and support

From Chapter 18 of the iPod Touch Users Guide:
Delete an account from iPod touch: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” choose an account, then scroll down and tap Delete Account.
Deleting an account means you can no longer access the account with your iPod touch. All email and the contacts, calendar, and bookmark information synced with the account are removed from iPod touch. However, deleting an account doesn’t remove the account or its associated information from your computer.

Try deleting the account from the iPod and reentering the settings.  It is easy to make an error and notbe able find it.

  • HT201593 The newest version of iTunes deletes all of my iPod Touch 5th gen audible and visual media when I delete or add music or video to my library and add it to my device manually. Why?

The newest version of iTunes deletes all of my iPod Touch 5th gen audible and visual media when I delete or add music or video to my library and add it to my device manually. Why? I guess the question speaks for itself. I have the latest version of iTunes and iOS 8.2 on my iPod Touch.

If it's any consolation i've just had a similar thing happen. Went to add a playlist and it wiped 35 gig of music off my iPod touch 64g in a nanosecond. I've got the latest iTunes and osx but do not back up because i keep different styles of music (and loads of it) in separate libraries and devices which i don't want mixed together. All my stuff is burned from cd so it's not lost for good and i've got a hard drive with the "lost" mp3 music on it but even so it will take literally weeks to prune the tracks for my iPod to be the same again. Why do they make it so difficult to manage your music on these things. I have massive amounts of music on my computer so autofill is a disastrous unusable gimmick to me. The whole thing seems to be aimed at 9 year old kids with about 6 mp3's on their phone rather than serious music lovers (for example accessing EQ is a joke let alone the lack of a manual option). I'm a dj and use apple for that reason but to be honest i'm beginning to wonder why. I'm absolutely livid. The weird thing is that my mac still shows the titles of the missing tunes in the 'on my device' window but as my macbook storage display shows no increase i'm pretty sure it's all gone. Nightmare. I have no confidence in this device anymore and could barely use the previous osx 8.2 anyway. Why they have to change it every ten minutes is beyond me. As the old saying goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but this format just gets more broken every time they update. An absolute disgrace. Why not just drag and drop or delete. No wonder the iPod is said to be a dying device, it's for music, it is not a phone. Not fit for purpose anymore. I can't be bothered to read a massive 'how to use' article every update. Good technology should be easier and more intuitive with each new version. I suppose i'll have to phone apple at my expense to find out what's going on, or maybe that's the whole idea. Very very very not happy.

To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...

You will not be able to perform a backup as this would include the Restrictions passcode... which is what you have to remove...

when i try deleting pictures on my ipod touch i can not choose "selected albums" i can only choose all my albums

Yes, that's the way it works with pictures synced from a comptuer to an iOS device.
If you want to remove specific picstures/albums, do so via iTunes on the computer.

  • E-mail with ipod touch

Can one use e-mail on ipod touch? If so how? Can you use MS Outlook? If not how can you access your e-mail?
    Thanks

There is no "built in" email software. You can use Safari to check email online though. Gmail and .Mac work well. I can check my Groupwise and outlook work accounts because they have a web based interface. Most employers provide a web based interface.

How do I remove "web clips" links to web pages from my Home screen? Holding until jiggle does not produce "X" for deletion contrary to the ipod touch manual

Figured oout that I had restricted deletions of programs.
Settings->General->Restrictions-> (enter your passcode), Turn Deleting Apps ON
Afterward holding an icon until it jiggles will produce the X delete button.
You might want to turn Delete apps OFF after cleaning up.

So is there any way to delete it download on ipod touch 4g

My daughter accidentally deleted a video that I captured with my iPod Touch 4G. Fortunately between the time I took the video and the time she deleted it, I had connected my iPod to my computer (but had not imported the video).
However, when you connect the iPod, it does an automatic back-up and back up video and photo files as well.
To recover it, I had to explore the back-up created the last time I connected my iPod using this tool:

    Worked great.
