Deleting entire album?

Ive got my ipod connected to itunes but dont see an option to delete entire album! There has to be a way to do this, right?

Assume you were in itunes?  Also assuming windows?  Two paths I can think of.....
1) Normally anything deleted from itunes goes to recycle bin.  If you did not pick remove from computer probably still in itunes music directory.  Just add back.  Note to speed things up you can use add directory.
2) Use restore previous version of music directory.  To be safe I'd back up current directory, do a restore, then swap back original directory and use restored directory off line.
I do not know of nice solution, I like to hack my way through.

  • Any good shortcuts to deleting/importing entire albums in iTunes?

I recently had to reset my iPod Touch and now find that on reloading my music much of it is/was on other drives or locations. I now have decided on better housekeeping and will keep all of it in the C:\Music\Albums folder.
When I view my albums in iTunes, most of them visually appear to be okay until I click on a song and the "can't find" message comes up with the question "do you want to manually find" or something like that. After I direct iTunes to the correct location, it is only for that one song. Can I do this for entire albums? One way of course is to delete the album and import the same album from the new location.
Also - and this would be even betteer - is there some way to select multiple albums and re-map them all? Most of the "lost" locations are from an external drive and I want them all to be on the local C:\ drive.
I have about 100 albums to move so shortcuts will help a lot. Should I just delete my entire library and start from scratch?

not sure if you can do this for multiple albums at the same time, but you can use the 'import folder' option from the file menu

Did you remove the entries from your library, or just the physical files?
Delete the entries, close and reopen iTunes, select iTunes Store in the left column, then Purchased in the quick links section. Your missing songs should be listed under Music > Not on his Computer.

  • Is it possible to delete entire photo albums in iOS

    iphone 5s / iOS8.1 - iMac / Yosemite
When i transfer important pictures from iPhone to Aperture I like to keep them on my phone until I know my Mac is backed up. Once backed up I want them off my phone.  However, as far as I can see, photos in iOS camera roll can only be deleted individually and right now I have about 6 albums with 800 pictures.. I don't want to delete them individually I want to delete the whole lot - am I missing something? Surely there should be a simple way to select and delete an album?
By the way, i am not talking about sync'd pictures here so it's not a case of deselecting sync'd albums in iTunes.
    any ideas?

I haven't done it in a while but you may want to connect the phone to your Mac and open Image Capture on the Mac. I don't remember that it allows deleting by folder but if not it still would be faster than doing it one by one on the phone. The delete icon is at the lower left (red circle with line through it).

  • HT1925 I want to delete an album not the entire program!

I am tired of the albums in iTunes.  How do I delete those albums, not the program of course!

iTunes is album centric, every track is part of an album. But you can opt to view a list of songs if you wish.

  • Adding an entire album to a play list in the remote app?

    Hi,
When generating a play list in the remote app (on ipad) I can add single tracks. But if I want to add several albums I need to add every single track of each album. Is there a way to add (and remove) an entire album at once?

    It's not.
I wanted to add and delet whole albums and to add an entire album to a play list enough of this on song at a time.
    Then do it this way.

  • How can I delete photo albums from my iphone

I uploaded albums from computer to my iphone and now it's in there twice, one as the actual album and then the entire album is copied to my photo library. I dodn't need to have all the pics in 2 albums and I can't delete them individually.

If I understand you correctly they are not in there twice your photo library is just everything on your phone, the photos albums and the photo library are just accessing the same picture.

  • How to add ONE image as artwork for an entire album ?..

How do you add a single image as artwork for an entire album (i.e. without having redundant copies for each individual track).
I already know that iTunes has its own artwork system that allows for this, but this is not helpful if the album art is not in their database.
    Thanks in advance.

Furthermore, if iTunes has erroneously downloaded an album cover for you that you want to change, you'll have to highlight the group of songs you wish to change and go to 'info'. Click on the 'album artwork' tab and delete the artwork that's there before adding your own, otherwise iTunes keeps both and only the first one will continue to show as the default.
If you want to download the correct album covers (or a different/cleaner/more accurate version) just go to the Images section of Google, type in the album name and copy the image of what you're looking for. No need to save the image, just copy and paste it. iTunes saves it on its own.

  • HT1725 I've purchased an entire album but some of the songs stop playing midway through. How can I rectify this?

I've purchased an entire album but some of the songs stop playing midway through. How can I rectify this?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • HT203167 I purchased Lady Antebellum's song "Dancing away with my heart"....Showed it could not be downloaded due to an error in the file.  I purchased the entire album "We Own the Night" so I could get this one song.  Again, it did not download.  WTH?

I love the new Lady Antebellum song "Dancing away with my heart."  Purchased it, would not download.  So, I purchased the entire album "We Own The Night, just to get this song.....It downloaded all the songs except "Dancing away with my heart!"  Error message pops up everytime I attempt to download the song again "Error - file may be corrupted."  It is listed on my IPOD and in my list of purchased music, my account was debited, yet the songs are not there.  HELP!

Delete the contents of the <Media Folder>\Download folder
Use Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset cache
Delete the current entry from your library
Download it again from your purchased history

  • "Delete from Album" meaning?

When you click on a photo and choose Delete from Album, is that the same as putting it in the trash and getting completely rid of it?
If it is just removed from the album but is still hanging around somewhere else, how can I find it and get rid of it for good?
Basically what I'm asking is, how do I completely rid my computer of a particular photo?   Thanks.

deleting from an albums does just that - removes the photo from the abum
to delete a photos from the library entirely select it in an event and press delete (or move to trash) and empty the iPhtoo trash and then empty the system trash

  • Skipping entire albums in Album Shuffle

How do you skip past entier albums while in album shuffle mode (skip to the next album rather than skip through all of the songs in the album). I thought center click + > was supposed to work but it doesn't...

unfortunatly, there's no way to do so. you have to skip all the tracks of an album.
the funny thing is, I was thinking the same thing today. I was using the "normal" (song) shuffle mode. I shuffle smart playlists that pick songs depending on their rating. But some days, I don't want to listen to a particular artist or album. So - since the iPod creates a temporary, static playlist if you play something - it would be nice to be able to delete an album or an entire artist from that playlist temporarily (so they still remain in the playlist you originally selected from your menu, but they disappear from the temporary playlist the iPod creates)
would appreciate it, but before apple puts in stuff like that I would rather love a bug-fix-update
