Deleting Events and/or Albums on iPad1 in batcH

Good day everyone,
I am failing dismally in attempting to delete, directly on my iPad1, Events and/or Albums in batch rather than photo by photo which is too much time consuming. Cannot find batch deleting means..
I, obviously, thought that these deletions could "also" be done via iTunes and synching by making sure, in iTunes, that the Albums and Events I did not want to synchronize on iPad1 were duly unticked.
Does not appear to work as iPad contents seems unaffected by the synching ops.
Help anyone? In advance thank you.

What you're looking for doesn't exist. The closest you can come for now is as follows:
There's really no quick way to do it in Photos yet, but the following is the best I've been able to come up with. Note: This only works in the Saved Photos album and in Events folders which you created by importing via the CCK.
1. Select which folder or album you wish to work in, tap to open it, then tap the Share icon in the task bar. Doing this will cause new buttons to appear in the task bar.
2. Tap & hold on the first image you want to delete. Now, without raising your finger from the screen, scroll S-wise over the rest of the screen, over additional images to delete. You will see checkmarks appearing on each as you pass over it.
3. If you wish to keep some of the selected photos, then raise your finger from the screen and tap them one by one to deselect them.
4. Options available to you, represented by the new buttons which appeared above, are indicated by the buttons brightening. Delete should be bright at this point; tap it, the selected photos disappear, and other ones move into replace them.
5. Repeat as needed.

How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • Regarding the difference between an event and an album in iPhone

As I understand it, and event is a type of permanent" storage of downloaded images from cameras, etc. An album is where you sort them out to make a special album. OK. Mu question is: let's suppose I have pictures in an event and they take up 500MB; and let's suppose, I create an album with all the same pctures. Does this mean that I now have 1GB of pictures or are those picture that are in album, are virtual or ghost pictures?
    Thanks much,
    Emile

Yes if you create an album the photos are ghost images. The phrase used is the photos in a album are pointers back to the original and in your example don't double the storaged used.

  • Deleting events and syncing

i know this must be an elementary question, but i did a search of the forum and couldn't find the answer. when you delete an event and then sync to your mac, is the deletion supposed to get synced? or will the machine sometimes restore the event? i can't quite wrap my mind around how this is supposed to work. it seems to me that i've seen it work both ways: events getting deleted from both, and events getting restored by the sync.
    thanks.

    Hi,
Are you still facing the problem?
although i am not an expert on CRM, but would suggest to reinstall the PIM-sync to try out the situation.
moreover R18 is due to release and will be available (For GHA) from the begining of next month
try doing it with new version of PIM-sync and share your testing outcome with us.

  • How can I delete photos and or albums from my iphone without having to delete them in all locations?  I have some pictures in an album that i want to remove them from but when I try it asks do I want to delete picture  from all loc

I have pictures in albums on my iphone.  I want to delete them from one album but when I try it asks to delete the picture from all locations.  I only want to delete it from 1 album.  Is this possible to do?

You can delete photos from individual albums but not from the camera roll.  If you try to delete a photo from camera roll it will be deleted from all other albums ("locations") that contain the photo.  This is because the actual photo is in the camera roll (the albums only contain links to the photo in camera roll, not the actual photo).

  • Deleted events and want them back!

I have unintentionally deleted several photos from their events. I thought when I made albums of them, I could delete the events to save space. When I went back to the albums, they were not there. Of course, they are not in the trash because I used the delete key. I use Time machine as a backup on an external drive. Is there a way to recover these photos from either of these sources?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
Using the delete key in iPhoto does not remove the picture permenantly. It puts it in the iPhoto trash on the left hand side under "Recent". Check in this trash can first. If the desired pictures are there just highlight them and go to Photos Menu > Restore to Library to put them back.
If the images are not in your iPhoto Library and not in the iPhoto Trash then that means you emptied the iPhoto trash. You can get them back from Time Machine.
While in iPhoto go to File > Browse Backups.
Use the time line on the right hand side to choose a date when the pictures were still in your library.
Locate the picture(s) on screen and click on them to highlight them.
Click on restore at the bottom of the screen to re-import them into iPhoto from the backup.
    Hope that helps.

  • Calendar iphone deleting events and changing times

My iPhone calendar is synced with my google calendar.  I haven't had a problem adding or changing events in either until recently.  Lately events in my calendar have disappeared or changed their times.  (Ex: I know I added an event to my calendar via my phone a week ago for yesterday.  Yesterday I was left in a panic because it had deleted itself from my calendar.  Today my child's parent conference time was changed in my calendar to an hour earlier than I set it for.)
Any suggestions to fix the issue?

I had already checked the time zone and it is correct.  The time zone wouldn't delete appointments from the calendar anyway, would it?

  • 2007 Macbook Pro suddenly coding over files, pictures, deleting itunes and iphoto albums, after it had been dropped in late november 2010. Apple specialists say they cannot find anything wrong. HELP!

I have a Macbook Pro, the last generation, not the most recent one. It fell about 2 feet in late November 2010 and had the screen and logicboard replaced right after. A day or two after that, I started to notice that my word documents, pictures files, pdf files, itunes library and iphoto library were coded over and deleted out of nowhere. When I click on it, it says it is not a compatible format or cannot be read, etc. However, this doesn't happen all the time and not with every file. I could open a new word document and begin it today, and tomorrow it will not be retreavable, but I have a document on my desktop that has been there since January and can still be opened, so this happens without warning.
I have taken it in to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store several times with this problem, and they say they cannot see anything wrong with my computer. On my most recent visit, the lady told me to buy an external hardrive, transfer everything onto it, then do a complete clean out of my computer and reboot it I guess. If it doesn't continue, then that might have been the problem, but if it does continue, then it is obviously not that. I am really confused and I don't know if I should trust that this is the problem or just go ahead and buy a new computer all together. I don't have applecare anymore.
    Help me!!! I am desperate.

Does your MBP still have its original hard drive? If so, it may have started to go south. The average useful life of a notebook drive is 3-5 years, and if yours is the original, it would be about 4 years old. The drop could also have affected it.
It might be worth booting from your install disc and repairing your boot disk. It sounds like you could have some directory issues. Repair until there is nothing left to repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the drive, you will need a stronger utility like Disk Warrior or possibly a new drive.
It also sounds like you may have some software corruption, which can happen if you have hard drive problems. Have you tried reinstalling the OS? You would want to make a backup first on an external drive and then use the archive and install feature and then update the OS.
You might want to download and run SMART Utility:
    http://www.volitans-software.com/smart_utility.php
You can download the demo and run it several times for free. SMART Utility seems to be somewhat more critical than Disk Utility, and may be able to detect impending drive failure sooner.
If the drive checks out OK, then you can follow the advice you got from the genius and make a clone of your boot drive using Super Duper or carbon Copy Cloner on the external drive. You could boot from the clone you made and see how your Mac does when booted from a different drive. If all is good, you can reformat the internal drive and clone back to it.
If all you need is a replacement hard drive, then your Mac is likely worth fixing. I too have a 2007 MBP, and I replaced my hard drive right after Applecare expired, as the drive started to fail a week after Applecare ran out. I put in a Western Digital 500 GB 7200 RPM Scorpio Black, and have been running on it ever since. I have also upped my RAM to 6 GB and my OS to Lion. Not all the features of Lion work on a 2007 MBP--the trackpad does not support Gestures, and AirDrop is not supported. Even so, I expect this Mac to last me a few more years.
iFixit has instructions for replacing the hard drive, and OWC has both good RAM and kits for hard drive replacements. My gut feeling is that your hard drive is behind the weird symptoms you are experiencing.
If you are ready for a new computer, by all means get one--there are some great choices. However, you should be able to fix your old Mac for not very much money and get some more use out of it.
    Good luck!

  • ICal 4.0 and Snow Leopard: can't add / edit / delete events + workaround

    Hi,
iCal 4.0 under 10.6.1, any changes I made in iCal was reversed when I quit and reopened iCal. Plus my changes didn't sync to my iPod.
When looking at the Console.app, I saw:
    2009/09/15 13:31:51 iCal[11918] save failed: Error Domain=CalCalendarStorePersistenceErrorDomain Code=1 UserInfo=0x115d4c780 "The end date can’t be set to occur before the start date. Change the end or start date." {
    NSLocalizedDescription = "The end date can\U2019t be set to occur before the start date. Change the end or start date.";
I tried to export / delete / import all my calendars, that didn't help. Then I noticed I also have the calendar automatically generated for the birthdays from my address book.
I unchecked "Show Birthdays calendar" from the General preferences. Now iCal works again (I can add / edit / delete events and the error message doesn't show in the Console.app anymore)
    Cheers,
    Janus

I have updated my OS to 10.9 hoping this to fix my problem.... but nothing... It's still the same....

  • Itunes show deleted events in iphoto

    Hi guys,
as firts sry for my english :/
I done all updates for my system (10.8.2, iPhoto etc) yesterday, now I have a confused bug.
After install the new update for iPhoto, my libary done an "refresh", ok thats normal after an update. In iPhoto all events, pictures etc are ok, but in itunes (iphone-> pictures) I get an very confused bug. itunes show me by events an incorrect sort (ok thats the small problem) but he show me deleted events, too :/
I merge some events to an new event in the past, but now itunes show me the old not existens events and complete delete events too.
Albums and faces are without this problems.
Did anywhere have the same bug or now an solution for this?

iPhoto uses an xml file within the Library package to do this sharing to other apps. It may be malformed in some way, often it doesn't work terribly well with non Ascii characters - that is anything except 0-9 or a-z. So, things like & or diacritical characters à or ë or whatever, can cause problems whereever they are used.
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Find the AlbumData.xml file and open it in a Text Editor.
Search it for non-Ascii characters and replace them. Save it and try again.

  • IPhoto '11 Deletes All Albums, Events And Photos From iPad after Sync

In addition to many of the other issues mentioned on this thread, today I synced my iPad for the first time since upgrading to iPhoto '11. After syncing, all the photos, events and albums except for "Imported Photos" were deleted.
In iTunes, the iPad is set to sync albums and events from the last 12 months.
iPhoto '11 has been a horror show for me. I use iPhoto daily and am currently in the process of downgrading via Time Machine.
I understand that as a professional photographer I should be using Aperture or Lightroom, but I've just always felt comfortable with iPhoto.

I really wish I hadn't jumped on this the first day. I need to wait a little bit and read the forums. Had I done this, I would've done a complete clone of my photo library prior to this. now I've lost a few months worth of photos, which *****. And there are people in a lot worse situations than I. Lesson learned.

  • If I have say 200 photos in an EVENT and I use 50 of them in an ALBUM and months later I'm happy with the ALBUM and want to trash the 150 extras in part to save space on the hard drive, is there an easy way to find which photos to delete?

If I have, say 200 photos in an EVENT and I use 50 of them in an ALBUM, and months later I'm happy with the ALBUM and want to trash the extra 150 photos, is there an easy way to know which 150 photos to trash? My idea is to not have hundreds of photos taking up space on the hard drive.
    Thanks.

    Various ways:
Easy one: Flag the ones you want to keep (do this in the Album - Select All and Flag)
    Then:
    File -> New Smart Album
Event -> contains -> Name of the Event
Photo -> Is Not -> Flagged
    will find the unwanted 150.

  • Iphoto, Creating events and Albums

I have attempted to create events and albums on the photo app in Ipad with no success. I have also synced the iPad to itunes and transfered pictures from an existing iphoto (macbook pro) event with no success. How can i create events and albums on the Ipad so i can seperate new pictures into specific areas for viewing.

You can't. Photos on the iPad doesn't have organising features. You can't create groupings, or copy from one event/whatever to another. You have limited features in the 'camera roll' for images you've saved onto the iPad - you can delete them or share them.
Your organising has to be done on the Mac in iPhoto or Aperture. Both create Events based on metadata from the image (date and time and so on). You can make albums and sync the albums to the iPad.
I know that isn't what you want, but it's all we've got. It bears repeating - the iPad is not a completely standalone device - it's dependent on a desktop and iTunes for its full functionality.
