Deleting Flickr-albums in Aperture

Hi,
When I delete a Flick-album in Aperture all photos are deleted on Flickr.
I don't want this...
Is there a way to delete a Flickr-album in Aperture and leave all images online?
Thanks,
Vincent

I 'disabled' the web account, but couldn't 'Remove' it. Thats the catch. I can't remove the account while Aperture is synchronizing. I can't stop or pause Aperture's sync process long enough to delete the account. Therefore I get stuck in a loop.
What I just tried, and was successful with:
Go to my MobileMe gallery page. Delete every gallery on the page. This apparently makes Aperture take a longer time to find the albums to sync to (this comes in very handy later)
Launch Aperture.
Wait for it to start sync'ing (or more correctly, start trying to find the albums you just deleted).
click the 'sync' swirling icon next to the current gallery that is in the sync process.
Aperture throws a warning dialog something like "you can continue to sync by clicking this button again later".
Click OK, and prepare to do the following as fast as you can......
Very quickly, before Aperture decides to start syncing the next gallery in line, click:
File->Web Accounts->Edit Web Accounts
Select 'MobileMe' and hit the ' - ' button to remove the account.
IF the "removing this MobileMe account will delete all your stuff" warning dialog pops up BEFORE the Aperture Sync process starts on the next MobileMe album, you're in luck, and you can successfully delete the MobileMe account. If not, go back and try again.
Aperture may 'unexpectedly quit' a time or two, but once I got the timing just right, I managed to finally delete the MobileMe web account, and now Aperture seems to have, for real, forgotten all about MobileMe.

  • Aperture Deleting Flickr Photos

    The Problem
    1. I created a flickr album in A3 with 115 photos
    2. The album published to Flickr as expected
    3. I dragged two more photos to the flickr album in Aperture
    4. Then all the other photos in the Flickr album disappeared (they're still in the aperture library), and were deleted from Flickr.com, leaving only the two newly added photos. Needless to say, this *****.
This is a critical error in my case and I simply can't use Aperture with this behavior. I'm afraid to even open the library as this is the 2nd time this has occurred. Can anyone help?
If anyone can help answering these questions, I'd be grateful
    1) Can I "disconnect" the album in A3 from Flickr, without deleting the images on flickr.com?
    2) On flickr.com, is there a way to de-authorize Aperture so it can't delete my photos?
    Thanks in advance.

I am using Iphoto version 9.5.1, and No I am not deleting any photo from any file. what happens is this :- I open up Iphoto and enter my flickr account via the shared folder icon on the left hand side of the screen this is when I get a pop up screen from Iphoto informing me that they have removed a SET of photos from my Flickr account (no reason given) when i go into that set all I can see is dashed empty square where the photo used to be. I will then get another pop up screen saying that Iphoto can no longer access my flickr account and will I permit a reconnection and allow Iphoto to access my flickr account (add pass words etc) when I get back into flickr the SETS have gone and all other photos enter the Pending stage again. After re uploading the missing photos I find that some 50% of them have been duplicated.

  • Is there such a thing as a smart Flickr album?

I'd like to create a Flickr album in Aperture 3 that will automatically update when new photos are added, such as photos taken in 2010. I have a smart album that can do 2010 photos now, but Flickr albums seem to be manually controlled. Is there a way to accomplish a "Smart Flickr" album?

    Greetings,
Yes, there is a UPD for color LaserJets.  Please look at the following URL:

  • Weird Error when trying to delete a flickr album

    http://bayimg.com/GAkNMAAcn
I tried to delete a linked flickr album created through aperture but got this error. No reaction when I click either button, I forced a quit and then tried to delete it again but the same thing happened.
What should I do to delete the album?

That's not an error message that you've posted - that's a dialog box asking you to confirm your deletion request. (Potentially 'saving you from yourself'.)
That aside, the issue is that you can't actually carry out the deletion. A stuck object like this is possibly a good reason to run some [Library First Aid|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805]...
Or... Have you done any independent album management over at Flickr? If you have, that might have broken the connection between Flickr and Aperture leading to this issue.
Or... Is your software (operating system and Aperture) fully patched?
    Hope something here helps.

  • Delete picture from a Mobile Me album in Aperture

    Hi,
I just made a mobile me gallery out off the aperture interface and sync the content to mobile me. So far so good. But I was wondering if it's possible to delete pictures in the mobile me gallery in aperture. If I want to delete a picture in the gallery the picture will also be deleted in aperture, and that I don't want... I just want to change the pictures in the gallery. Off course I can delete the pictures in the mobile me web-interface, but the pictures are still in aperture-mobile-me gallery and will be back in the gallery the next time you sync the gallery I guess.
thanks in advance for any reply.
    Pascal.

MobileMe Galleries are simply a type of album. Deleting an image from an album will not delete the image from Aperture. Simply select the image. and press the delete key. Aperture will warn you before it deletes a master, but it will remove a version from am Album without comment.

  • Trying to delete a MobileMe album causes Aperture 3 to crash every time.

I published an album to my MobileMe Gallery from Aperture 3 (as a test), and now I want to delete it from MobileMe. However, every single time I tried to do this in Aperture 3, the app crashed (and I sent those reports to Apple). As a last resort, I logged into MobileMe directly and was able to delete the album there, but it still shows up under "MobileMe Galleries" in Aperture. How do I fix this problem? I am up to date on software, I think (3.0.2). Thanks for any help you can provide.

    TThanks for that Linc.
tried that but mail still crashed. So modified it a bit. I archived my important emails and then erased the mailbox itself so that all messages were deleted. This was successful.

  • How do I get rid of empty MobileMe albums that Aperture 3.4.5 won't let me delete?

I'm running Aperture 3.4.5 in OS X 10.8.4.  I dumped my MobileMe Galleries when I switched to iCloud last year.  But I just noticed that Aperture still shows icons for MobileMe albums in my Projects list, even though they are empty and aren't linked to any web account (they don't appear in the "Preferences: Web: Accounts" list). When I select one of them and choose "File: Delete MobileMe album," the album's web broadcast icon changes to a warning sign.  But there's no explanation of what the warning means. AND the album remains in the Projects list.  How can I get rid of these ghosts?

  • Warning when deleting flickr account

I want to cease use of Aperture 3's flickr integration.
    Currently running Aperture 3.1.2.
I have already disabled Aperture on the flickr web site.
When I go to delete the account from Aperture->Preferences/Web, I get a warning:
Are you sure you want to remove "<flickr account name>" Flickr account? 83 albums will be removed from
"<Aperture Library Name>". They will still be available on Flickr. Items downloaded from Flickr that have not been imported will be moved to the Aperture trash unless you choose to import them"
I just would like to confirm this won't touch my "real" aperture library images per se, just delete the "Flickr" "albums" or whatever you would call them: the items at the bottom of the Library list under the "Flickr - ..." heading where each set has the little flickr icon (blue+pink circle).
    Regards,
    strathglass (Colin)

Thanks Bob ... you were right.
One trick: I had to start deleting from the bottom of the list, otherwise it would stall with an error after deleting the first flickr album in the list due to apparently automatically selecting another album in the list (didn't do that when I selected and then deleted the BOTTOM flickr album in the list).

  • Updating Flickr Album help is confusing

i am trying to figure out how to maintain a flickr published album in Aperture and this is like my third or fourth run at this. i am reading the documentation titled "Updating your Flickr and Facebook Albums" and it /appears/ to me that i havvi have to MANUALLY select any /new/ images that i have added to an already published album and then select the album that i want the images to be published in (even though the new images are of course in the already published Flickr Album so i am not exactly sure why Aperture requires me to make this selection).
in any event, i am having the following problem:
while i have just ADDED four images to this already published album and while i /can/ manually select these and then select the album that they should be published in Flickr - what do i do if i am not sure if there are OTHER images in this album that have been added to the album but were not added to the flickr album?
i mean, it seems to me like this is not an automated thing where i can simply add images to an already published album and have them updated in Flickr - but what do i do if i want to make sure all the images in this album in aperture are in the flickr album??
do i basically select ALL the images in the album, publish them all to the flickr album and then delete duplicates on flickr or is there some way to simply "upload unpublished images to this album" or to otherwise have aperture SHOW ME which images are in fact in the online album...
am i missing something easier here?
    thanks

hmmm. i guess just selecting all the images in the album and publishing to flickr while selecting the /existing/ album will simply update with the new images and not result in duplication of images already published.
for some reason i remember this resulting in added duplicates in the flickr album but maybe i did something wrong that last time.
anyway, i think this is problem solved...

  • How can I delete an album i purchased from itunes from my iPhone 5

All I want to do is delete an album I brought 18months ago thru iTunes . I brought it originally on my iPad 2
Now it's on my iPhone 5
    I want it gone ...
and there's no delete button on my phone
Yet there is on the iPad
    It's doing my head in
    Someone please explain
    And in a basic term

    Hello Kate,
Follow these steps to delete the photos on your iPhone that were synced over from your computer (be sure to just check albums that you want to sync or don't do not check any albums if you don't want any photos synced over):
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • New Events are appearing from Flickr Albums

New Events are being created from the pictures that are located in some (but not all) of my flickr synced albums. The flickr albums then are synced with the photos in these events. So I can't just delete the event as it then deletes all of the photos that are synced. Any help would be great in resolving the issue. My current idea is that I will just stop syncing with flickr but I really enjoy the feature.

Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Iphoto and flickr albums

Is there anyway to stop iPhoto from automatically putting my photos uploaded to flickr in albums? I don't always want them in an album so I have to continually go into flickr and delete the albums. Even when I do want them in an album, if I add to an album after it's been uploaded once, it creates a new album with the same name rather than including them with the original one.
My biggest request would be to make uploading to/as an album optional. Apple owes me about 4 hours of my life over the past 18 months in time spent deleting albums in flickr.

    Hello Shareski,
iPhoto was designed to work with Albums. Thats how you organize images. So iPhoto will always upload to an album. However, one you've created a flick album in iPhoto, when you add additional images to that album in iPhoto those images should appear in the same album on Flickr. If your finding that a new album gets generated when you add new images this suggests something may be wrong with your particular iPhoto Library. Consider performing a rebuild http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638.
    Hope that helps.

  • Modifying Flickr album in 3.2.2

i have gotten a little tricked up with /modifying/ Flickr albums and things seem to have changed slightly in 3.2.2
in the past i would organize /albums/ that contain the images that i want to publish on Flickr and then i would publish these. these would then show up in a flickr album under the Flickr listing much like MobileMe used to work.
if i wanted to ADD images, i think i would try to make sure to copy the new images to the ORIGINAL album and then to re-copy them to the flickr published album. this way if i wanted to keep track of what was published i also had a conventional album in aperture as opposed to just a flickr published album that i was not sure was 'actual' data in aperture.
now it seems the flickr album /listing/ has disappeared - or, wait - i guess just the listing on the left hand side has disappeared and they show up as goofy splayed card looking large icons in the browser pane. anyway.
can anyone help me figure out how i should be ADDING images to a flickr gallery?
i just tried a test by adding images to my Aperture Album and then selecting all the images and then hitting Share - to Flickr and then i selected the pulldown of the NAME OF THE ALBUM that i was updating on Flickr. is this correct?
if so, should i then see the new images in the Flickr Album in the browser window of the same name? i am now looking here and these seem like they are all disorganized in a way that they would not have been when i originally organized and published the album (and unlike how they are nicely organized in the Aperture Album that i just published as described above...).
    Thanks for any help.

I will try these two suggestions, bur first two questions: Are you suggesting that I select the image in the library and then zoom in and out, or are you suggesting that I zoom in and out while the image is still in the develop module after I have made a series of adjustments to the image? Perhaps I am ignorant, but I am not sure what you mean by making a preview image. All of the images when imported into light room are standard previews. Thanks for your help.

  • 1.1.2 Issues deleting Smart Albums?

Hi, I just installed Aperture today for the first time. As I am trying it, I created a Smart Album, which now I cannot delete, nor modify. After several attempts the library has been rebuild, yet the problem persists. A few questions:
    (1) Any suggestions on how to solve this?
    (2) Should | can I go back to 1.1?
    (3) How do you pro-actively rebuild the database?
Bad start to be my first experience.
    Thanks SO much.

To delete a smart album should be a simple matter of selecting the album, then RH mouse click/Delete Smart Album.
If this doesn't work, quit Aperture. to rebuild, hold down the <Option> and <Apple-Command> keys and, while holding, launch Aperture. This will cause a dialog to be displayed .... Rebuild Later or Rebuild Now. Choose rebuild Now and after the rebuild is complete, try deleting the Smart Album again.
Another option would be to edit the rules, and see if this "unblocks" the logic gotcha if that's what it is.
Put your first experience behind you ... Aperture 1.1.2 isn't perfect yet but is an absolute boon for me.

  • One more question re- getting flickr albums to show up in iPhoto '09

I have in the recent past uploaded a bunch of photos from iPhoto '09 to flickr pro, using the Flickr Uploadr.
With iPhoto '09, I can do it within iPhoto without having to go to Flickr Uploadr. That's great. But how do I get the existing albums to show up in iPhoto '09 so that I can keep a tab on what I have uploaded and what I have not.
Also, does the flickr album item in iPhoto '09 create new copies of the photo or is it just a label/metadata on the existing photo/set of photos in the library?

IF you have successfully imported your pictures to your Mac http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083  then it's safe to delete it from your phone.
If you want the pics back on your phone, just sync them back using itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
