Deleting Genius in iTunes

Periodically, when I open iTunes on my Win7 computer it feels a need to "Sync" the Genius data to my devices (iPhones/iPad). I have over 1,500 songs on my devices, and the sync-Genius data takes some time to complete. I really don't want to wait that long for the sync to complete, I really don't use the Genius anyway. Is there a way to delete/disable Genius, so I don't have to wait to do whatever I want to do in iTunes?

Still no responses??? Does anyone know or if Genius can de deleted?

Is there an easy way to turn off Genius in itunes 10.6.1?

I have Genius playlists on my ipad2 that I do not want. I would like to get rid of all Genius suggestions and have viewed many suggestions; one being to go to the store tab and click turn off genius. This option is not available it only gives the option 'Update Genius'. I recently joined itunes Match and this seems to automatically think that you want to have Genius. Can someone help me in gettng rid of Genius. Thanks in advance.

In both our cases we had a number of extra Genius Playlists and most of these had no songs in them. We couldn't delete them the normal way by just holding down on them until the little X appeared. We both solved it the same way. On my iPad when I "tap" on the Genius playlist I want to delete, it switches to the screen showing the individual songs in the Genius list (even if it's just a blank playlist), and there is a "save" button near the upper right of the screen. I pressed the Save button and then hit the button on the upper left to return to the list of Playlists. After doing this, the last Genius Playlist displayed could then be deleted the normal way by pressing on it and waiting for the X. I had to repeat this process for each extra Genius playlist I wanted to get rid of (which was all of them b/c on mine they were all blanks). I just repeated the process of viewing each playlist, saving it, going back to the list of Playlists and then deleting the one that appeared last on the screen. So far these Genious Playlists have not returned. Hope this helps.

How to Disable Genius in iTunes (with iTunes Match ON)

So i just got iTunes Match, but noticed Genius turned itself back on (i've always had it disabled, it's so annoying). I also notice that now iTunes takes forever to load (i have a SSD, and it used to instantly pop up). If i delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file (which is over 50 megs large) iTunes pops right up instantly like it did before, but then as soon as it does it takes about 30 seconds or so to "gathering information about your iTunes library".
So how do i disable Genius like it used to be? I want to keep iTunes Match on, i just don't want Genius or any of it's useless mixes or playlists or sluggishly large crap files.
For reference, I'm running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3.25)

The directions in Itunes help: "To turn on Genius, choose Store > Turn On Genius. " are not usefull as there is no Genius referenced in the store except Genius Recommendations. I have an IPod Nano and IPad 2 that Genius doesn't work on and an IPod Touch that it does.

Transfer large voice memos after deleting them from iTunes

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to transfer large voice memos to my computer from my iPhone.
I synced my phone without changing the names of the voice memos--- so they were in iTunes in a random order and it just confused me. I deleted them in iTunes and renamed them in my voice memos..... now I can't download them with the correct name! I can't find how to get them back off the iPhone into my iTunes or even to my desktop to burn onto a CD. ???????
I cannot email them or message them because they are large files. I've tried to email them and it states that an email has been sent (there was an email sent sound) but nothing ever shows up in my email account.
All I want to do is put my newly titled voice memos into a folder on my desktop.
PLEASE help! I wish this was easier to do!

When I talk about removing songs from my shuffle play, I'm referring to listening over apple TV. My cloud limit is nearly maxed out, so I am constantly removing/adding songs. That's why I was surprised when I went to delete a song I no longer wanted in the mix and was surprised to find it already deleted from my itunes, but still present in the cloud. I've signed in and out of itunes/and match on apple tv as well, but that didn't remove the tunes in question!

MY QUESTION IS TWOFOLD :
(1) how do I create a new Itunes library file now with today's date; and
(2) how do I delete multiple (old) Itunes library files, without risking the loss of what I've got ?
This all stems from exploring Itunes as a result of a problem I had today... when trying to import mp3's from my terrabyte drive, after about 150 successful mp3 track imports, Itunes froze and everything else on my MAC froze as well (constant spinning colored wheel). After many failed attempts to force quit Itunes, I turned off my MBPro. On restarting, Itunes tooks ages to "import" files. Eventually Itunes opened but with only half of my original tunes (1500+ songs 8.11GB) and had nothing from today's import.
I found a post suggesting to hold down OPTION while starting Itunes. Then I selected a file from my hard drive > me > music > Itunes > "Itune library" with the most recent date and shezam, Itunes once again has all my songs, as before. Nothing I imported from the terrabyte drive today appears however, but no matter.
In my "Itunes" file there appear MULTIPLE Itunes libraries ! such as Itunes library, Itunes Library (damaged), and as well a folder called "Previous Itunes Libraries" which itself contains multiple Itunes Library files and multiple "previous Itunes Library files" with dates back to 2007. These I want to clean up and delete .... should I ? ... Can I ?

Whenever you install a new version of iTunes and run it teh first time, iTunes will create a backup of the current iTunes library file and copy it into \Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes libraries, then update the iTunes library file in \Music\iTunes\ for the current version of iTunes.

The iTunes Media folder is set in Preferences > Advanced, and is the key to most iTunes folder organizational activities. So I doubt that the automatic deletion will work for files that are somewhere else within the folder structure.
However, I have not experimented with that issue in quite a while, so you are welcome to give it a try in iTunes 11.

Deleting apps from iTunes Library and IOS Devices at once.

I tend to delete all unneeded apps from iTunes library on my Mac, because when I delete them from there, it just take one syncing session to deleted them from all my other devices. But recently I noticed that this way is no longer helpful, now I have to delete each app on my iPhone, iPad and Mac manually. So if anyone can help me to make iTunes recur to the previous pehevior, please replay ASAP.

I have the same problem! I recently decided to clean up my devices. The first thing that came to my mind was to delete an App from iTunes, sync and get rid of it on all other devices. I was surprised that it stays on iDevices evem after you delete it from iTunes. I don't want it this way. DOes anyone know of a trick that can allow me delete an app just once?
Before if you delete an App from iTunes and try to Sync an iPhone or an iPad with it, you would see a window telling you that there are items on your iphone that are not present in iTunes - do you want to copy them? Now it just "syncs" and leaves the Apps untouched. What kind of synchronization is this?

Deleting Songs From iTunes Library...and Keeping Them On Your iPod

Will this process allow me to delete songs from my iTunes library, but keep them on my iPod?
1. When iPod is plugged in, check "Only Sync Checked Items" in iTunes
2. Delete items from iTunes library.
3. Add new items to iTunes library.
4. Sync iPod.
It should keep the songs I deleted from iTunes on my iPod, right?
If you need me to be any clearer, please ask.

Any auto sync method you use will delete the songs from the iPod if you delete them from iTunes.
You can delete songs from your iTunes/computer hard drive after transferring them to the iPod, and for this you need to set your iPod to manage the songs manually.
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:
