Deleting ghost mailbox

Hi!
I have the following problem. I can’t delete a mailbox (emoze), I have tried to delete it using the Options > Settings > E-mail route but the mailbox doesn’t even appear under the [Default mailbox] list. I can see the mailbox name but instead of the mailbox icon there is a grey circular icon with a question mark. When I go into the mailbox all the messages also have a question mark but I can’t open any of them. I have noticed that after updating the phone software and before restoring my messages the mailbox is not there it only appears after I restore my messages. And lastly I have searched the emoze website without any luck.
Any suggestions as to how I can remove this mailbox as I am no longer using emoze?
:robotsad:

Hi - I have had to delete and recreate my mailboxes once since I had the phone as it stopped syncing them.
When deleting I did have a problem that something was active. Make sure any connection / destination is turned off, widgets set to offline mode and turn phone off, then on again.
Worked for me.

  • Ghost Mailboxes After Deleted

Sometimes when I delete a mailbox that I no longer need, the mailbox itself don't delete, instead it's color turns to white. Hence ghost like. Why is that sometimes happens?
All of the messages and/or mailboxes have been removed from the mailbox. When the mailbox don't delete and changes color, I have to delete it again to delete it permanently.
    Thanks for the help.

Bump - does no one else have this issue? Today it was saying "Incoming mail - Receiving 33 of 33" and nothing appeared. I'm concerned that a. I'm gettinga lot of spam and b. it's being shuffled to somewhere on my hard drive that I can't clean-up.

  • Ghost mailboxes

I have created a new mail.app including its accounts.
Then I have imported File>>Import Mailboxes.
The two Gmail accounts have been imported as the others three accounts I have, and all the five are under my On My Mac (see the screen picture attached), the five accounts are as ghost mailboxes.
I have managed to copy and paste the content (e-mails) from the ghost mailboxes to the newly created mailboxes.
Now, the incoming mails is going strait to the three real mail boxes.
The problem is with the two Gmail mail boxes. Even though I have copied and pasted the content of the former gmail boxes to the new ones, but when trying to download new mails, instead of going to the new gmail boxes, it is going to the ghost mailboxes, the gmail ones.

What can I do to redirected the new incoming emails from the ghost mailboxes to the new ones.?
Is it possible for me to erase-delete these ghost mailboxes?
    TIA

  • I need to remove an AOL email account that is not attached to my Apple ID.  This is on an iPAD.  It is not showing in Accounts.  However, I cannot delete the mailbox,. Please advise

I need to remove an AOL email account that is not attached to my Apple ID.
I am receiving email and I cannot delete the mailbox. Please advise.
the account is not viewable in settings.

I am assuming that this mail is coming into the Mail App, not another third party app, correct?
Is the AOL account showing up as its own mailbox in the mail app? (e.g. I see "All inboxes", "iCloud", and a third mailbox that is my second email address.)
Every "mailbox" except the "all inboxes" are going to be in the settings under mail, Contacts and calendars.
If the mail is coming into a mailbox that isnt the AOL mailbox, then it sounds like you have your AOL mail being forwarded to another email adress.

  • How to recover deleted mail/mailbox?

While trying to solve a problem I had with a mailbox in Mac Mail, I deleted the mailbox. I only took the precaution to save the Inbox in a different location but not the Sent mail. Big mistake. After deleting the mailbox I found out that it also deleted all the mails in the Sent folder, some of which are very important to me.
I looked for suggestions in the Apple Support Communities and found what seemed to be the answer to my problem: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/613328?start=0&tstart=0
This is what I did as Geoffrey Charters suggested:
Step 1: Download FileSalvage (https://secure.subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/Undelete/DataRecovery/FileSalvage) and run it in demo mode. In this mode, you can only explore, which is OK. Set the "free space only" option and start the scan. It takes a while. You should see your deleted .emlx files in the resulting list. Select one and make sure the preview pane contains email headers. That way you'll know you are in good shape. If so...
Step 2: Buy a registration code for FileSalvage, and use the "Register" menu item in FileSalvage to enable the full version.
Step 3: Select all the batches of 100 .emlx file that have been found and restore them to your second disk drive.
And then as David Gimeno Gost suggested:
    1. Create a folder on the Desktop and name it however you want, but give it an .mbox suffix, e.g. Recovered.mbox
    2. Within that folder, create a folder named Messages (with no suffix), and move the messages to be imported into this folder.
    3. In Mail, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions. Note that Mail wants you to select the folder that contains the *.mbox folders to be imported (i.e. the Desktop in this case), not the *.mbox folders themselves.
After running FileSalvage for 4 days that it took to scan all my drive byte by byte, it found the files I needed and I could even preview parts of the messages I was looking for. Everything looked promissing. I recovered such files and stored them in a secondary drive.
This is where the new problem starts. All the retreived files are stored in the secondary drive but when I try to preview any of them using Finder, just a blank page opens. I also tried importing them to Mail as David Gimeno suggested but, although an imported mailbox was created, all the messages there are blank. I can even see in the size column in Mail that every message is 0 bytes.
I know that somehow the information that I need is stored in the files I recovered with FileSalvage, because when I browse through such files using Finder, I can see that they have different sizes. So, the information must be there, I just don't know how to access it.
Has anybody had this problem? Any suggestions?

Appart from solving with a backup, do you know any other way I could get my information back, according to the description I made?

  • Why can't I delete added mailboxes on my iPad mini since iOS 8 update? Every time I try to delete an old mailbox that I added it boots me right out of mIl completely. I want to clean up and get rid of old unused mailboxes?

why can't I delete added mailboxes on my iPad mini after the ios8 update?

The mail app is crashing on you for some reason. Close the mail app and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't help, you can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

  • Exchange 2010 Trying to Deleting Database Mailbox(DB13), error database "DB13" has multiple copies on other servers. Must remove all copies from other servers

Help, not sure how to proceed via Powershell or EMC.
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
Please use this command to check the status information for copy of database “DB13”
    Get-MailboxDatabaseCopyStatus -Identity DB13
In the name field, we will know the copy stays on which server. Then use the following command to remove these copies.
    Remove-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB13\MBX -Confirm:$False
Use the EMC to remove a mailbox database copy:
In the console tree, navigate to Organization Configuration > Mailbox.
In the result pane, on the Database Management tab, select the mailbox database whose copy you want to remove.
In the work pane, on the Database Copies tab, right-click
the database copy that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
Click Yes to remove the database copy.
After removing these database copies, then try to delete this mailbox database.
    Best Regards.

  • Deleting N8 Mailbox

Apologies if this has already been covered!
I have 2 Hotmail mailboxes set up on my N8 (Which I can access from one of the homescreens), I set them to sync for new mail one hour every morning but recently it hasn't been syncing and I haven't been receiving new mail.  I though perhaps removing both mailboxes and re-installing them might work but when it came to deleting them (settings > delete mailbox) it just has a loading bar saying 'Removing mailbox' for a very long time.  I either have to restart the phone to stop it or go to 'open applications' and remove it that way.
Basically I can't successfully delete a mailbox! ...Any help would be appreiciated!
    Thanks.

  • Cannot seem to delete voice mailbox - phone is still lit up red

I have CUCM and Unity both are 8.6 and I moved an extension and deleted the vm mailbox and vm on this extension.  The problem is the phone handset is still red even after unplugging it and reregistering the phone.  How can I fix this?  We dont need a voice mailbox on this extension.  Any help would be great.  Thanks

    Hi there,
    I agree with Sreekanth (+5)
In  CUCM look up the MW-Off number (Feature>Voicemail>Message  Waiting>Directory Number>Message Waiting Indicator Off )
This  will be a Directory Number like perhaps 2600. Go to the phone, press  the Line button, dial 2600 and the MWI Lamp/Icon will turn off.
Or if you need to do this via remote then you can temporarily re-create a mailbox for the DN in question. Get it set up, send a test message, listen to and delete the message, then wait a minute before deleting the mailbox and you should be good to go.
    Cheers!

  • Deleting Multiple Mailboxes All At One Time

When I bought an iMac, the Apple Store transferred (imported) a large number of email messages and from my PC to my new iMac and placed them in mailboxes. I no longer need the imported mailboxes and their content. How can I delete multiple mailboxes (and their content) all at once vs. one by one?

Hi rahimac & welcome to the forums...
Those individual boxes are in this location:
    ~yourUserNameHome/Library/Mail
If you're comfortable poking around in there you can sort and then delete. Close MAIL first and when you're done, they should be gone the next time you open it.
I don't recommend this as a casual approach, however, so if you have any hesitation, just delete one by one inside MAIL instead.
Make sure to have a backup ...and good luck in any case.
