Deleting iCloud songs from iPod Touch? Please!

Hi,
The quick way of saying what I'm trying to do is delete and iCloud song from my iPod and the photo at the bottom will give you an idea of what Im talking about but...
I was working with an Apple person over the phone last night for my macbook but he ended up seeing 2 aerosmith songs under various artists because they were purchased from a movie soundtrack. What he did was change around the song information so that it would show up under Aerosmith. After doing this, the song did show up under Aerosmith but it also brought up the letters V and P which it also listed Aerosmith under. We did some searching and when we pulled the information for the 2 songs, we saw that in the copyright part (where we are unable to retype anything, the name Pamela Jetson came up which is why there is a P.
After that we deleted the songs from iTunes but now I'm trying to do this from my iPod so that hopefully this will go, but it will only put a cloud next to it and not fully delete it. I could try looking back at my old computer to see how it exactly was identified and see if we can bring it back down to the various artists but I do'n't want it to bring every Aerosmith song with it because you can see how under the P all Aerosmith songs are listed. Because of this, when I go to hit the letters on the side such as T to find say, Tom Petty, it guesses that T is in-between the A and V so it jumps up to the top rather than going to the bottom where the Ts really are...
Thank you so much!!!!

Tried this and was able to fully clear Aerosmith from the song info. but it is still causing this... Irritating, when I get another iPhone, and download everything as it appears on the computer (the song is no longer on the computer) will this reoccur?

how do you delete songs from ipod touch if can help me that would be great.

planb77 is wrong. There is a way to delete songs, artists, albums, and playlists directly from your ipod touch. Simply click the song, artist, album, or playlist you want to delete but dont let go and slide your finger to your left (or right) and a red button will pop up to the right of the song, album, artist, or playlist title saying "Delete". Simply click it to delete it. To cancel and hide this button or option, simply slide right or left again or tap your finger anywhere on the screen away from the "delete" button.
BTW I am not absolutely sure if this will work on all previous versions of the Ipod Touch. I am running iOS 5. iOS 5.0.1 to be excact.

Can't delete song from ipod touch that is not in my library

Monty's solution will work if you have left the songs in one of your playlists. Another idea if that doesn't work is to check your iTunes list for that iPod. Check at the very bottom beneath the albums, artist,s and other content to add to your iPod, and be sure that you don't have individual songs selected to be added as well. If you do, eliminate them from that bottom list, and you should be fine.

  • Can i delete songs from ipod touch once i upload them to icloud, can i delete songs from ipod touch once i upload them to icloud

once you upload songs, photos or documents fron ipod touch to icloud, can you delete them from ipod touch to free up memory from ipod touch and can you access them from icloud without downloading to ipod?

You can't upload music to iCloud unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber, and if you are the songs are uploaded or matched from the iTunes library on your computer, not your device.  Photos are only uploaded to Photo Stream temporarily (30 days), for up to 1000 photos so it's not meant to be a permanent storage option.  The uploaded photos are also generally of lower quality than the originals on your device.  Also, only photos taken on your device after turning on Photo Stream are uploaded.  Finally, when you turn Photo Stream on, uploaded photos will be streamed back to your device in a Photo Stream album (so it actually uses some of your memory rather than saving it).  As for documents, only iWork documents are uploaded.
If you really want to free up storage on your device consider more permanent cloud storage services such as DropBox (which will handle photos and all documents).

  • Cannot delete songs from iPod Touch

    Hi all,
I manage my device content manually on iTunes, and I am trying to delete enough songs from my ipod touch to download the new iOS. I clicked "on this device" in iTunes and deleted the songs I didn't want, but they are still on my device. I've restarted the device and restarted iTunes. When I had unplugged the device and plugged it back in, under "on this device" it does not show the song I tried to delete, but they are still on my device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    That happens sometimes.
You can either update via iTunes
    or try:
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music

  • Can't delete songs from iPod Touch

My ipod touch is displaying songs that don't display in my playlist when I sync it with the computer, about 20 random songs that I don't even recall downloading....and it won't let me delete the individual songs from the ipod by sliding and clicking delete.  Any tips?

If they do not play on the iPod then
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • How to delete songs from iPod touch 5th generation

How do I delete songs from an iPod Touch 5th genration. We tried many other forums with the swiping method, but when we tried it, a picture of a cloud with a red arrow appeared after tapping the delete button appeared and the song remained.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All. That way only downloaded songs will show in the Music app.

  • Cannot delete song from iPod Touch 4

Just got iPod Touch 4 and it tried synching entiere song catalog from computer.  Cancelled synch, but one song is "stuck" on the Touch - it won't play, and won't give the option to delete it - text is in grey and the song is unselectable.  How do I delete this one item?

Nothing.  I guess I'll just have to choose to ignore that one song.  I've just built a playlist that contains only the songs that I can access and use that instead of the base list.
I can't believe that we're the only two people who have this problem and that nobody else has an idea how to fix it.

  • Delete song from ipod touch

I read what I could find on deleting but I could not find out how to delete from the ipod touch.

I recently had customer service correct an error with a download. The new file will not update the current file on my iTouch. I don't want to delete the file from my iTunes because I won't be able to access the download again. I wish that they had told me to delete the old file from my computer and sync first, but they did not. Now, I'm not sure what else to do to get the new file to transfer to my iTouch.

    Hello Queen131,
The iPod Touch can be set to 'manual mode,' which will allow for specific control over which songs are synced to the device, and allows for specific tracks to be removed.
