Deleting Infoobject

How can i delete an infoobject, which is in active version, but without any data ?
When i try to delete it, by rt clicking it, it says "infoobject XXX is not available in Version A. & Error when deleting object infoobject XXX."
Why it says like that ? So how do i delete an infoobject, which i dont want to keep anymore ?

  • How to delete infoobject by transport request?

    Hi experts,
I want to delete infoobject from productive system by transport request without deleting this infoobject from development system.
Is it possible? How can I do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Denis,
Take an approval to open the production system. While you delete the infoobject  , it will ask for transport request to save under.

  • Deleting infoobjects from Dimension in Cube

    Hi All,
I am trying to delete infoobjects from a dimension in a cube. My constraint is that I cannot delete all the data in the cube. This dimension is a new dimension which I had created 1 month ago. So, I deleted all the requests which I had loaded after creating this new dimension, so that this Dimension table gets emptied. I have also adjusted the dimension from RSRV. The dimension table is now empty. Still, I am not able to delete the infoobjects from this dimension or delete the dimension altogether.
Any pointers to this will be highly appreciated.
    regards,
    Saikat

    Hi,
I had thought about remodelling. I can do it in Dev and make the changes, and transport them to Q. The constraint is that in Q there are 2.8 million records and I don't want to delete the data in Q. In case the transport fails, I cannot use remodelling in Q (to do this we will have to open up the system; not recommended).
I can selectively delete only those requests which contained data in the new dimension. But I think the same issue will occur as in Dev currently (even if the dimension table is empty, deleting a dimension is not allowed).

  • Problem deleting Infoobject.

I am trying to cleanup some legacy InfoObjects. When I go to delete the InfoObject, I get the error that it could not be deleted b/c its still used.
In the detail of the log, I get the message its still referenced. Specifcially this:
Data element /BIC/OIZSOLDTOCD (Revised and active vers.) was not deleted (check references)
/BIC/OIZSOLDTOCD is still used in Table /BIC/CAAAZCSELTHRU
/BIC/OIZSOLDTOCD is still used in Table /BIC/CAAAZOORDERS
Domain /BIC/OZSOLDTOCD (Revised and active vers.) was not deleted (check references)
/BIC/OZSOLDTOCD is still used in Data element /BIC/OIZSOLDTOCD
However, the two tables its suppsidly used in don't exist!!! (/BIC/CAAAZCSELTHRU and /BIC/CAAAZOORDERS)
What can I do to fix this?
    - Stephen

OK. I finally got the object to delete, but I am still not comfortable w/ what is going on.
Your suggestion got me to poking around. The first big issue is that the structures which were holding the reference - /BIC/CAAAZCSELTHRU and /BIC/CAAAZOORDERS could not be pulled up or located in SE12/SE11.
<b>I couldn't even enter in the full table name, it kept cutting it off!!!  However, the only way I could get ot them was thru the where used list, nowhere else could I pull them up!
I deleted the reference of the InfoObject table in both structures, I don't think I deleted the structure from the where use list. This then allowed me to go back and delete the InfoObject.
I don't get why I could not pull up the structures other then displaying them in the where used list.

  • Delete infoobject from an infocube with data

    Hi,
I have just added an infoobject to an infocube which has data. Now, I need to delete that infoobject and I think that if the infocube has data I couldnt delete the infoobject.
How can I delete the infoobject without removing the data?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi David,
deleting an infoObject from an database table is everytime difficult. The correct solution depends on different requirements:
How many datasets are in the infocube - how large is the cube.
Can you reload the data from a source or an DSO
    Does your release support remodeling.
The best solution would be - delete the data, transport your change of datamodel to prod system and reload the data. The second solution could be: create an copy of the actual infocube, load the the data from the original cube to copy, delete the data from original cube, transport your changes to prod system, load the data from copy to "new"original cube, delete the copy.
You can also try to use the remodeling function. But there is no guarantee that this will work correct. We made some good and some bad experiences with this tool.
    Cheers

  • Delete infoobject from Infosource

    Hi,
I would like to delete an infoobject from the infosource 0vendor.
In the comm. structure I see that the icon to "delete row" is grayed out.
    How can I delete?
    Thanks in advance.
    Dubbu

    Hi,
Go to change mode then all the lines will be in white
    then select the entire row
and there will be a -(minus) button delete as u required.
Note> if it is standard it is not good practice to disturb the 0vendor that object may used in different places.
u see that functionality based on that u should take the decisuion.

  • Delete infoobject request

    Hi,
I need to delete data daily from my infoobject before I load the new data. This is a full load.I have tried using the process types for deleting request in the process chain. They dont work for infoobjects. Can anyone please help me how I can delete the data in the infoobject before my next load using the process chain.
    Thanks,
    Kal

    Hi ,
For deletion from masterdata table you just need one statement in your report .
    delete from <tablename>.
you can also add one more condition :
    delete from <tablename> where OBJVERS = 'A' .
It will work but you need to check whether you are authorized to do so or not because master data tables are write protected .

  • Unable to delete infoobject

    Hello,
I had created an infoobject and then deleted it and transported it in the same request.
However, this infoobject is still being transported to the test systems.
In the dev system, the A version does not exist, but the D version exists.
How do i delete this IOBJ?
    Regards,
    Suraj

    Suraj,
If you want to delete the Info Object in all the systems then you need to delete the object in Dev and release the request to the further systems. If you have any prob in deleting the IO in Dev then check whether that particular IO is referring to any other object or not.
    Hope it helps...

  • Cannot delete InfoObjects

    Hello,
I defined a Characteristic "Org Unit" which has 3 Characteristics namely "Company", "Area" and "Department" as navigational attributes. These 3 attributes in turn I have created using "Org Unit" as a reference.
Now I want to delete all the 4 Characteristics but cannot. When I try to delete "Org Unit", I get an error saying that it references "Company", "Area" and "Department" respectively. And when I try to delete each of these Characteristics I get an error saying it is referenced by "Org Unit".
When I attemp to open the other 3 Characteristics. I get the following error....
<b>Characteristic "Company" is blocked by conversion</b>
How do I come out of this deadlock situation? Pls help.
    Thanks,
    SD

    hi Sebastian,
first.. settle the converison lock problem,
Note 325296 - Conversion lock: Characteristics cannot be edited
First activate the master data if you have deleted attributes or changed the time dependency of an attribute (Administrator Workbench --> Tools --> Apply Hierarchy/Attribute change). Activate the characteristic only afterwards.
after that change company, area and department 'reference' to no reference
Note 568051 - Changing the referencing of characteristics
then remove them from attributes of Org Unit, and delete them.
    finally delete Org Unit.
    hope this work for you.

  • Delete InfoObject

    Hello,
we have a lot of unused info objects. What's the best (safest) way to programmatically delete them. I used the existing BAPI's to create a crossreference. Unfortunately there's no function for deletion. I checked the function 'RSDG_IOBJ_DELETE_VERSION', but i'm not shure if this function really deletes all dependencies.
    Thanks for any help.
    Reto Badertscher

    Hi Reto,
As far as I know, there is no instant delete program to handle deletion. As you may know, <b>Deletion</b> is a risky business. You must start from bottom -> upwards...
How did you end up with too much unused Info Object? What happened? You transported all BW Info Objects?
I think you have to clean them manually...Maybe a whole day effort to delete them will do.

  • Deletion of InfoObject

    Hi,
    I need to delete infoobject.
Error msg: /BI0/OCFM_FAC_NO(Revised and Active Versions) was not deleted(check references).
this object is not used any where.
    regards,
    KV

    Hi,
The infoobject you want to delete is used as referece infoobject in another infoobject that is not deleted yet. Find out from where-used list and delete all references and then try deleting this infoobject. Unless all refernces are deleted your infoobject will not be deleted.
Go to the tables /BIC/Omyiobj and /BIC/OImyiobj and check there, ur InfoObject will be available.
    Hope it may help u,
    Thanks & Regards,

Do we have a ABAP code / program to delete all objects viz. InfoObjects, InfoProviders, Datasources, Infopackages, DTP, Transformations etc. in ONE shot
Secondly, does anyone have a template created for capturing information on Transports created for release?
    Please do let me know.

It may be hard to delete objects containing data.
    Try
    RSDG_CUBE_DELETE               Deleting InfoCubes
    RSDG_IOBC_DELETE               Deleting InfoCubes
RSDG_IOBJ_DELETE               Deleting InfoObjects (without automatic transport connection !)
    RSDG_MPRO_DELETE               Deleting InfoCubes

  • It's failed to try to delete master data

    Hi folks,
    I'm on BI 7.0
When I try to delete master data of infoobject ZCCPT_S, it's failed,
The error message is shown below:
    System error: RSDU_UTIL_ORA/FORM TRUNCATE_TABLE 54 /BIC/SZCCPT_S
    Message no. DBMAN100
    Diagnosis
A system error with the following parameters has occurred in the data manager:
    Parameter 1 = RSDU_UTIL_ORA/FORM TRUNCATE_TABLE
    Parameter 2 = 54
    Parameter 3 = /BIC/SZCCPT_S
    Parameter 4 =
Anyone can help me to solve the problem?
Or do I have to delete this infoobject and recreate it, then transport to PRD system?
    Thanks in advance
    Ji xiaodong

    Hi,
infoobject ZCCPT_S is used in any infooprovider (DSO or Cube), first delete the data in that and then try to delete master data for this infoobject, there is error deleting infoobjects SID's. i think that is why this error is coming. so first delete the data in infoproviders.
go to infoobject ZCCPT_S -> using where used list see where it is used .

  • BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes.

    Hi,
I want to see data in BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes.
I am working on  BI 7.
I have set the infoprovider in Tcode RSDDSTAT.Marked 2 Infocube statistics ( X) and OLAP(2).
    Already activated the BI Statistics.
I am deleting data from one of the cube . But when I go to cube 0BWTC_C11(BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes)
It is not showing any data .
I can't see any data in RSDDSTATDELE table also
Do I need to do any other setting ? Am I missing any steps?
I need to dislay the log for deleted request /deleted data  ?
I need to display the log for deleted infoobject/infopackage also? Where can i get this ?
    Pls guide  .
    Regards
    Nilesh

    Hi Venkat,
I can not able to see in the report also . I have tried 0BWTC_C10/0BWTC_C10_Q251 to 254.
Whenever I am doing to delete it individullay it goes to table SDDSTATDELE .But whenever I am deleting whole data from cube or request ID  it is not updating  table RSDDSTATDELE.( which is further used to get data )
<b>I got this from SAP help .</b>
The characteristic can have the following characteristic values C,N,D and T:
C (Choose): The system automatically chooses the best delete mode. This is N or D.
N (Create New): If over 10% of an InfoCube’s data records are to be deleted, the system replaces the InfoCube fact table with a table with data records that are not to be deleted.
If you want to delete more than 10% of the records, the system creates a new table, copies the data records you want to keep to the new table, deletes the old table and then renames the new table.
D (Delete): If you want to delete less than 10% of the data records, the system deletes these individual records directly from the InfoCube fact table.
<b>T<b> (Truncate): If you want to delete all data records, the system deletes all data records from the tables, but retains the tables in the database.</b></b>
So how to see these records? I am doing full upload to cube 0BWTC_C11(BW Statistics: Deleting Data from InfoCubes).
Before this do I need to extract data for other CUBE also.
    Pls suggest .
    Regards
    Nilesh
