Deleting Internal memory- BB curve 9360

Hi, I have a blackberry curve 9360-great phone, not so great battery life. Anyways, Im having trouble deleting the internal memory (built-in media storage). According to my phone, 93% of it ( 29.9MB) is taken up by pictures. I do not know how this is possible, because I have deleted all of my pictures, minus the built-in wallpapers, and all picture apps.
How do I delete these so called pictures? Does anyone else have the same problem?

How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

  • Deleted by mistake some files off the internal memory

Device storage was almost full and I decided to check what too most space and delete it. I went through folders to see that some folders were repeated twice. Decided to try deleting one(automatically regretted it) to see if the other one stayed.
As a conclusion, I deleted 600 items, most of them music, of the internal memory.
Is there any way to recover it?

There are different recovery software programs available out there that run on Windows. Perhaps one of them might be able to recover it if you connect to your PC. There is nothing on the device that can recover it.
That said, I've noticed the duplicated folders, as well, but haven't tried to delete them.

  • Why was my question deleted without being answered?  Broken screen want to erase internal memory

Why was my question deleted without being answered?  I thought this was a help board.
my droid razr's screen is broken and not responsive. I want to delete the internal memory, passwords, pictures, ect before sending it back to verison in exchange for the warranty replacement.
    Thanks

        Hi mountain444!
Sorry to learn of the fate of your RAZR. No worries, I can help you erase the device. You would simply do a master reset. I know you can't see the screen, and this is why there is a Preferred Method for this, as well as an Alternate Method. Please follow the steps for the Alternate Method listed below. Thanks!

  • How can I recover deleted photos from the internal memory???

    Hello,
I was using Sony Bridge to import photos from my phone to my Mac.
After importing.. the software told me it was successful and complete then asked me if I wanted to delete the pics off my phone.. I pressed 'yes' because my phone was full on memory..
After it was finished deleting I then decided to check my imported photos only to find they wern't even there?!??! It has created an iPhoto library.. but it won't even open and seems to be empty..
All the photos are now deleted off my phone and I can't seem to find them anywhere on my Mac. I have tried recovery programs with no luck.
    I am seriously upset :'(
Is there any way to recover them from my internal memory!??! :-(
Are they on my Mac??!! Because Sony Bridge told me they had successfully imported!!!

    Hi Natasha_L
I'm very sorry for the late answer.
I got a reply from the development crew today.
We tested it and indeed we were able to reproduce it in the case that the iPhoto Library has been migrated into the new Photo Library.
If that is the case, the user might be able to recover the pictures in the following directory:
    ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library.photolibrary/Auto Import
If unfortunately the pictures are not there, there is an slight possibility that they still remain in the temporary directory, as they are first copied there and then moved into the Auto Import folder. To search that temporary directory, the user can run this command in the Terminal.app:
    find /var/ -name "iphoto" 2>/dev/null
The problem will be fixed to BFM(4.1).
    Best regards
    Fredrik

  • Curve 9360 not ringing with incoming calls

Good day. I am using a Blackberry Curve 9360 Smartphone.
Hope you can help me, I have inadvertently ticked the "All Alerts Off" option instead of the "Silent" option.
The phone rejects my attemps to change it back to All Alerts on, with a reply "Alerts  Off cannot be editted or deleted"
There's a red tick mark next to the icon, and the icon is also highlighted in red.
The "Normal" option is ticked at the moment but the "All Alerts Off" option remains the same.
Incoming calls go straight to voicemail without a ringing alert, and a sms informs me of a missed call.
Please advise me how to resolve this problem, URGENTLY !!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
That is strange indeed...typically, only one profile at a time can actually be active...from what you describe, both Normal and All Alerts Off are active at the same time...not normal. Lets try this...
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Now try to reset your sound profile as you desire.
    Best!

  • Problems with OS 7.1 on Curve 9360

Hello, I am new to the Blackberry world of things having been previous Apple and Android... I have just bought a new Blackberry Curve 9360 on Tesco Mobile (uses o2 network) and, it came pre installed with OS v7.0. (The 9360 came with a 4Gb memory card) As recommended, I have upgraded to OS v7.1 however; I seem to be having several issues with this... 1. Since the upgrade, the OS seems to hang and freeze quite a bit when switching between apps etc. I have tried a battery pull but no different. 2. I don't seem to be able to download some of the apps from Blackberry App World because my device is not compatible. I believe this is probably because the the App Developer hasn't updated the code for OS 7.0 / 7.1?? 3. Since the upgrade, I am unable to install ANY applications because it is saying I have less than 5Mb of storage space remaining on the internal storage. I have tried a battery pull but this hasn't fixed the issue. I also have a Blackberry Curve 9300 for work and, have no problems with this at all and, am very pleased with it. I noticed that my 9300 is running OS 6 and, that I have more apps available than on my 9360 so... If I downgrade my OS to v6.0 on my Curve 9360, will this (1), cure the slowness problem? (2) download the same amount of apps as on my 9300? (3) will a downgrade cure the space issue or, can you provide any other help on this?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Your assumption about app compatibility is correct...every app must be ported to every specific BB model number as well as major OS level. Some developers choose to not do so, others just take longer to catch up.
As for your other issues...every situation is unique. Each BB has a fixed amount of AppMemory which must house the OS, all apps, and some amount of app data, overhead, etc. So, the mixture of those that you choose will determine what you cam have as far as additional apps, performance, etc. But, this KB might give you some help:
KB14320 How to maximize battery life and free memory on the BlackBerry smartphone
You also should try other 7.1 packages...some are reported to be more stable than others.
Sadly, it's pretty much impossible to tell you what the exact results will be for you...every situation is unique as well as every users tolerance levels, so you must figure out what works best for you.
    Good luck!

  • Internal Memory - 9320

Please confirm out of  512 MB internal memory in blackberry 9320, how much is available for user to download to themes etc. I guess out of 512 MB internal memory some part is allocated for Blackberry OS 7.1
I want to download themes and applications and available memory in blackberry 9320 will make me decide which blackberry device I should buy.

    Hello,
I really recommend the 9320 as it has good battery life compared to the 9360.
Also, the 9320 has a decent amount of memory for you to download apps and themes, without lagging.
Each time app world tells you that you have less memory just clear some unused languages!

  • How to get information about limitation Internal Memory on device

    hallo ..
have some question here, so please some person able to answer my questions
    1. How to get Information about limitation internal memory on device
    2. is possible to improve internal memory on Blackberry ( move apps on external memory )
    3. any tools to get internal memory activity ?
thanks for this people who joins here, hope we can share more information about blackberry ..

    In addition...
There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) Application Memory, 2) Device Memory, and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.
Application Memory -- This is the most crucial; it is the protected (not user accessible), dedicated, and fixed (in size) space that is available as the destination for the installation of applications (plus some application storage, overhead and such). You cannot touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can only install here...there is no option.
Device Memory -- This is space on your BB that you can touch to store files, pictures, media, etc. Typically, it is not terribly large, but it is available to you.
SD/Media Card Memory-- This is what it says...your SD card, for you to store files, media, pictures, etc. It can be as large as your BB OS can support...see this KB:
KB05461MicroSD card sizes supported by the BlackBerry device software
On some devices/OS levels, you can only see "File Free" (Options > Status), which I think is equivalent to AppMemory. On other devices, you can see all three memory usage levels (Options > Memory). Here are some guidelines to use:
KB02843What is the Low Memory Manager feature on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14320How to maximize free space and battery power on the BlackBerry smartphone
KB14213Call logs, SMS text messages, and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
Lastly, it is always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Good luck!

  • Curve 9360 OS 7.1 update problems

Couldn't find any threads with this particular problem, so here goes....
I'm trying to upgrade my T-Mobile Curve 9360 to OS 7.1, so I try checking for updates, either over the wireless or connected to the desktop using the BB website and Desktop Software v7.  Every time, it tells me my phone is up to date, even though I'm running OS 7.0.0.319.  The only other version indicated available is the one I already have.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
    Solved!

    Hello!
Please refer to the official download portal to know what OS packages each carrier has released and is therefore supporting:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
Also, at the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for each model. You can use those as reference as you proceed.
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Still having trouble with low internal memory

    LG Vortex -
I couldn't even download a 136kb app today.  It says I have 18.6 MB internal storage space available.  All of my big apps are installed on my SD card, NOT on my phone and I have cleared the cache AND all the data on single thing in my manage apps settings (which ticked me off because I am aware by doing that I have lost my place in the book I was reading....)  I do not use my phone for email at all, but I still went into gmail and cleaned out all emails and deleted the trash (less than 1MB total).  I've turned off sync on everything except backup assistant.  I can't even update my existing apps because just by signing into Google play store I run out of internal memory.
Any other suggestions?  I'm sorry, but what a piece of trash phone.....I will be so glad when my contract comes up so I can get rid of this piece of junk.
    Thanks in advance

Thank you for your response.  My dialer storage is only 216kb in size, with 0 used in cache.  I don't have an SMS backup, only contact backup (backup assistant).
I guess I"m just frustrated because so many smart phone users watch movies, read books, etc on their phones, and I can barely get mine to run a basic app.
I did more paring down tonight and got it up to 21 Mb. Better than 18 I suppose
    Thanks for the suggestions

  • Curve 9360 TrackPad gone bust what to do?

Hi guys I've had my BB curve 9360 for around 2 months now, recently the trackpad started not working I've tried all of the methods such as taking out sim memory card battery etc these all worked temporarily but did not fix the issue.
These methods have finally stopped working and my trackpad light doesn't come on at all now, I think it's tracking functions have come to an 'end', it does click to open things but it doesn't scroll so as you can imagine almost impossible to navigate on my phone. Having to use the search function to find things now, but it's hell trust me...
I have tried looking online for a replacement trackpad but because this phone is still fairly new I have been unable to find a replacement OEM replacement. All I see on ebay and other online sites is trackpads for other curves not this one...
I am wondering if a curve 9300 3g trackpad would work or if anyone can tell me the best thing to do cause this is a real nuisance for me, I love this phone but right now I can't do a thing with it...
Is the 9360 trackpad any different from the one used in the 9300 3g?
    Thank you guys

OK, so you really don't have any warranty, having bought the device used.
