Deleting iwork

So I downloaded the iWork 30 day trial, and when it expired, I purchased only Keynote and Pages from the app store. Now I would like to delete the iWork trial, but when I drag it to the trash can, it does not go in. This is very annoying because whenever I try to open a document, it will open it to the trial Pages, and not the purchased one, so I will have to quit  the trial and open the real one. Is there any way to delete the trial of iWork?

are you set up as an administrator?

  • Is it possible to delete iwork documents off my Mac but keep them saved in iCloud?

    Hello,
Is it possible to delete iwork documents off my Mac but keep them saved in iCloud?
    Thanks in advance

In Finder preferences > General, I changed New Finder windows show: from All My Files to my short login name. This reduces the confusion in presented files.
You can control where you retrieve or save iWork documents via the open and Save.../Save As... dialogs -- or with drag & drop -- be that local or iCloud. I have Pages documents in iCloud that do not reside on my local disk. I can always retrieve them from iCloud to local storage as needed. You certainly can remove a local copy of a document that you already have saved in iCloud.
The act of saving a document to iCloud does not create a duplicate (backup) copy on your local storage.

  • When is it advisable to delete iWork 08

When is it advisable to delete iWork 08 if I'm running iWork 09?

Unless you're really pressed for hard drive space, keep iWork '08. In addition to being able to save documents as '05 or '06, you can export to Flash from Keynote (a feature dropped in '09).
You can also answer iWork '08 questions here

  • Can I delete iWork '06?

I have installed iWork '08 on two intel macbooks - I did not have any previous versions of iWork. On the new macbook, with Leopard pre-installed, only iWork '08 was installed but on my older "Tiger" macbook the same procedure resulted in both i Work "06 and "08 being installed. Can I delete iWork "06 from my "Tiger" macbook or does it need both for some reason?
    Thanks for your help.
    Adrian

    Adrian,
No, there's no reason you must have two versions. Just open up your Applications folder and drag the iWork '06 folder to the trash. Make sure you're not also trashing any of your personal files with it.

  • HT4942 Delete iWork from iCloud

How can I completely delete iWork from iCloud?

You can't delete the iWork beta apps that appear on icloud.com, if that's what you're asking.  If you want to delete iWork documents from iCloud, just delete them within you iWork apps.  If you want to stop using iCloud with iWork on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Options next to Documents & Data, then uncheck your iWork apps.

  • Can I delete iWork '06 once i've installed '08?

I bought the family pack of iWork '08 after installing and using a trial version of '08 and previously had iWork '06 installed. '06 is about 2 gigs while '08 is about 0.7 gigs and I'm on a gig diet. I'm concerned about doing thsi because my hunch is that '08 is using the (unchanged) resources of the '06 version and they are thus necessary. It looks like the trial version has already been converted or written over.
Can I delete '06 without a problem or just stay put?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am repeating myself, but some time ago I wrote this in another post about the size of iWork '06:
The historic aspect is fascinating. On my first computer I had a perfectly well working word processor on less than a 720k diskette. Let's assume I bought a new one of those diskettes every day Monday to Friday every week for one year. If I placed them on top of each other in a pile, they would reach about the same height as a three year old child.
The amount of data I then would have is roughly the same as what Pages spends on one single picture in one single template in one single language - the guitar in the Lesson Flyer template. If that one had been removed from the templates in all languages, Pages would have been 160 Megabytes smaller. If it had been compressed to high quality JPEG instead of non-compressed TIFF, Pages would have gained 150 Megabytes.

  • Do I need to delete iwork 08?

I just downloaded and installed 09 but it did not seem to
    combine with 08?
was I supposed to delete 08?

I just downloaded and installed 09 but it did not seem to combine with 08?
The different versions can be installed simultaneously.
was I supposed to delete 08?
No. You can if you want; it won't affect iWork 09 either way.

  • Able to delete iWork 09' and re-download?

Does anyone know if you are able to delete the installed iWork 09' apps from your MacBook and re-download them in the future for free from the Mac App Store?(Using MacBook unibody 2009 edition, previously purchased hard copy of iWork 09')
For example: Numbers is just taking up space on my comp, but may have to download and use it in the future.

I would update to the new versions which are free and make sure that they are in your Purchases list. Then delete the ones you don't curently intend to use. That way you know that they are there and would be available for future download as long as at some point in the future Apple does not return to a paid upgrade. Then all bets are off.

  • Can't Delete iWork Documents

Whenever I try to empty the trash with an iWork document inside, it says they're in use, but I didn't open them at all.

When they've been in the trash for a while, they can be emptied. I think it's answered.

  • Can I delete iWork'06 after iWork'09 retail install ?

I see that my iWork'06 folder at Applications is ~1.95Gb which I would like to free from the HD. Is there any problem if I do that? I've already installed the retail version of iWork'09

KeyNote '09 can no longer save to Flash.
Other things have changed as well. Some for the better.

  • I tried reinstalling iWork 09 after accidentally deleting it but now it won't open.

I had iWork 09 since I bought my MacBook Pro in 2010.  I have version 10.6.8 right now. I accidentally deleted iWork 09 last week and I tried reinstalling it and each time it says "Installation successful".  When I try to open Pages, an error message comes up that says, "Pages cannot be opened because of a problem." .  I am a college student and everything I have is saved in Pages, therefore I really need to fix this. Help?

The problem may be that all of the prior bits of iWork '09 were not deleted before you tried reinstalling. The iWork installers are very finicky. Deleting everything & reinstalling is probably needed. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

  • License for iWork: Pages.....

So I bought a new iMac at the same time I bought iWork 09. I understood that they were installing at the store.
Now a month or two later I am trying to print documents and on the third set I get a Pages screen asking me if I want a trial or to register. I can't seem to get past the screen to print. I don't understand because I have printed other documents, may not have used Pages much as I mostly do emails.
I found reference to Apple's new system where one does not need a serial number, nice since I can find none on my iWork 09 DVD box. I am not sure what to do here. The information I found here seemed to suggest deleting iWorks and a bunch of other files reloading iWorks. It seemed to suggest that a serial number would not be required. I checked versions and the version I have is higher than the one on the DVD so I guess I would have to upgrade too. This sounds like about a half days work to get a serial number that should be there.
Is there any solution to this problem that does not involve me wasting half a day?

I understood that they were installing at the store. Apparently that was not the case as the software is not on my wife's 27" iMac purchased at the same time.I think I loaded from the iWorks 09 Box/DVD as I do have an iWorks 09 folder on my hard drive. I did find old versions of iWorks which apparently got moved to my new machine when I used the Migration Assistant.
I can't seem to get past the Pages registration screen to print. I don't understand because I have printed other documents, maybe this set of documents is just going through Pages where the others were PDF's etc?. Apparently my version of Pages is slammed because I tried to create a WP document and it would not let me save it.
I have some documents I need to print ASAP. I plan to go back to the Apple Store and ask why I wandered around the mall all morning waiting for them to load software which apparently did not get loaded. Since I have one on one I think they will have to deal with it but I need copies of the documents sooner than I can set a half day aside to work on finally getting this conversion done. Lesson for me here, do not buy new systems right at Christmas and expect that help will be available.

  • I have installed iworks 9 now wont open up, i have installed iworks 9 now wont open up, i have installed iworks 9 now wont open up

i have installed iworks 9 and tried to open it up and it tells me to purchase serial number but i installed from a cd

You cannot completely delete iWork by moving the iWork '09 folder to the Trash. Instead, use Yvan Koenig's script:
              •          Go to http://www.box.com/s/00qnssoyeq2xvc22ra4k
              •          Choose public_YK > for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items
              •          Click on uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button

  • Can't find a way to delete album Iphone4?!

    Hello,
    I tried everything.
I go to Itunes while my iphone is connected.
I click on my name and then on Photo's.
I click sync from and then choose map.
The first thing that comes up is the album that I want to keep it but I don't have anything else to choose.
I choose it and I can only vink All maps and Inclusive video's.
I choose both and click on apply.
Nothing happens he just makes 1 extra album of the same photos.
Now I have 3 albums with the same pictures.
Why the **** isn't there something that just sync my all three albums and simply right click and delete?
Why the **** do you have to be a ***** about everything apple?

If you want to delete user-made templates, go to ~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates and you'll find the individual files that you can just delete.
If you want to delete iWork's own templates, that's a bit trickier.  Right-click (or Control-Click) on the Pages application, choose Show Contents.  Drill down to Resources and Templates and there they are.  I'm not sure I'd delete anything from the application package, however, so my advice would be to copy the app and try it on that to make sure it doesn't foul anything else up.
    Good luck.
