Deleting message on iphone and mail on mac

How do I set up my iphone and/or mac to do the following:
If I delete an email message on my iphone (yahoo mail account), it will also delete it from Mail on my mac?
Thanks!

The account must be accessed as an IMAP account with both email clients.
Yahoo supports accessing a Yahoo account as an IMAP account with the iOS Mail app, but Yahoo does not support accessing the account as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer as is possible with a free Apple iCloud account and with a Gmail account.

  • Sync e-mail messages between iphone and Mail

Is it possible to sync e-mail message such that when I delete messages from my iphone they go into the trash in Mail (and vice versa)?

Alternatively, besided the above information. You can configure your pop account on Iphone to delete emails from the server when you delete from Iphone (this is the closest thing you can have without IMAP).
which means that if you read your email on the Iphone first and delete something, and when you go back to your desktop Mail, that Mail application will not be able to retrieve the deleted emails (which you deleted via the Iphone).
    Hope this helps.

  • The Mail on my iPhone and "Mail" on my Mac doesn't sync. Any advices?

The Mail on my iPhone and "Mail" on my Mac doesn´t sync.
The Inbox is the only one that does. Not the sent etc.

On my computer, on Mail-Settings-Account its filled in with my: @me.com and also @mac.com as emailadress. And on Server sent messages (SMTP) with: iCloud.
So I think this should be right...?
(I cant really view any adress to the left of Inbox at the top).
On the phone (iPhone3), on Settings-iCloud-Account it says @mac.com. When I try to change it to @me.com it says its already connected to that. So I guess it shouldnt matter.
I really cant make it work.
When I had MobileMe, before moving to iCloud it used to be alright...

  • How to recover deleted message from iPhone mail

I accidently hit the trash button while viewing a message in my email. How do I recover the deleted message?

In the mail app go to Mailboxes. Select the mail account under Accounts. Tap on Trash. Hopefully, the email is still in the trash.  If it's still there you should be able to move it back to the Inbox.

    Hi StuNYC,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Take a look at the article below, it provides suggestions that will resolve most issues that  cause an alert like that to appear in when starting the Mail app.

  • How can I recover deleted messages from iphone 4?

How can I recover deleted messages from iphone 4?

    You don't.
E-mail is kept on your e-mail server.
Have you failed to import your photos to your comptuer regularly?
If so, then they are likely gone.  You can try restoring from backup.

  • How do you get Voice Memos off the iPhone and onto my Mac???

Is this yet another iPhone dead end??
I used the Voice Memo app that comes with the iPhone to record some rehearsals and now I want to move them to my Mac, edit them, make CDs, share online.
I can't find any way to get them off the iPhone, unless I click the "Share" button, which means I can email them. But, it won't let me email the longer ones. I don't know how large the files are, but it just won't do it. I don't see any other facility for moving these files to my Mac. What is up with that???? iTunes provides no access to these files.
Is there some proprietary utility for the Mac that will allow me to access these files and move them to my Mac??? It would be nice if the iPhone would show up as a mounted volume which I could then browse for files, but that would make too much sense and be contrary to the control freak nature of Apple and it's iPhones/iPod Touches. I would call it another lousy user experience, but it's just a user non-experience, a complete dead end.
Is there any way to get these Voice Memo files off of the iPhone besides emailing them??

    Thank you for replying!
That kb article refers to the iPod Nano and not the iPhone nor the iPod Touch.
The Synchronizing section you pointed to does not work. I have a big bunch of voice memos on the iPhone. I tried the sync. Three of them were moved to the Mac, the rest were ignored. Four others were moved to iTunes Music/Music/Unknown with numbered names (i had given several of the voice memos names with the Custom label on the iPhone). For the synch I selected "Include voice memos."
After a sync, or several syncs, none of the other voice memos were moved to the Voice Memo playlist, nor are they in the iTunes Music library.
How do you get them to sync? I need to move them off of the iPhone and onto my Mac!

I use Messages on iPhone and iPad. Photos appear on iPhone message, but not on iPad message.

This did help but I had to play with it a little. I had previously turned face time off on her ipad. I had to turn it on and then go in and do Settings>FaceTime>iPhone cellular calls>OFF. Then I was able to turn face time back off and it kept the other settings that I had changed. Thank you!!!!!

  • "delete message on mailbox and handheld" Problem

I have 4 email accounts on my BIS  2 hotmail, 2 pop3.   After I did a reset on my curve, only one of my accounts gives me the option to delete message on mailbox and handheld.  Previous to the reset, all accounts gave me that option.  I've tried resending service books, reregistering host routing tables, etc.   Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You must to go your message inbox, then to options, then email reconciliation and scroll through EACH email address under message services and make sure "delete on" is set to prompt.  It must be set to prompt for each email address.
