Deleting MIC version

Hi Friends,
Is it possible to delete MIC version. For example i have a MIC with two versions. Both versions were created on the same day.
Now i want to delete the version 2 of MIC. Is it possible?

This is wrong posting area,it should be in QM.
yes you can set the deletion flag to MIC provided the MIC is not in use anywhere.If it is in use (Plan,Inspection lot) you can't do that.

I have 396 versions in the Aperture trash, but Aperture's deleting 784 versions?

I deleted a bunch of versions along with some masters. The number by the Trash in the inspector indicated there were 396 versions in the trash. I clicked "empty Aperture trash" and expected it to empty as usual, but it seemed to be taking an extra long time. I had the "Activity Monitor" on at the time and, indeed, both the processor and RAM appeared to be maxed. (I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro, 15 inch, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB RAM, running OSX 10.6.8). I waited a while, but it didn't seem to improve. Curious about what progress had been made, I clicked "Show Activity" in Aperture. It showed a status of 10%, soon thereafter, it said "deleting 2 of 784"!!!!! Why would it be deleting nearly twice as many versions as are in the trash? I have never had the "Show Activity" window open before when emptying the trash, so I don't know if this is normal or not, but it had me worried. I wanted to cancel the process and find out if it was normal before continuing, but the "Cancel Task" button in the activity window was greyed out, and therefore, not an option. I waited and waited, all the while worrying about what other versions it was planning on deleting. It seemed to be at a stand-still. There was no spinning beach ball, and I was able to use the cursor, but the Activity Window didn't show any more versions being deleted. I know I'll get criticized for the next few things I did, as I'm sure I probably should not have done them: I decided to try quitting Aperture, since I could find no other way to cancel the task. The progress bar got about half way through and then seemed to stall. Again, I waited and waited and waited. Finally, I reluctantly clicked on "Aperture" in the "Activity Monitor" and then "Quit Process", to force quit the process. I then put the computer to sleep for a while. When I came back, I clicked "restart" to clear the RAM (Activity Monitor indicated about 5 MB of Page Outs--don't ask me what the other stats were, as I don't recall). I opened Aperture to see what would happen. It opened fine. The only immediate noticeable problem is that while the trash still indicates 396 items are in it, no previews show in the window. It is all grey.
My questions are as follows:
1) As asked above: Why would Aperture be deleting 784 versions when only 396 are in the trash?
2) What is the next best step for me to take? I am wanting to delete the 396 versions, but not unknow extras! I can't see what's in the trash.

Update: I did an extended hardware test (just in case a hardware issue was causing my problem)--no problems found. I then went through the Aperture troubleshooting steps: I tried repairing permissions first, but I still could not see any of the images that were in the Aperture trash. I then repaired the library. This seems to have fixed things (at least upon initial assessment). Afterward, I was able to see the images that were in the trash. I opened the Activity Window to see what it said when I tried emptying the trash again. This time it said it was deleting exactly the number of images that I expected it to delete (not twice as many this time!), and it emptied lickety split--as I had expected it to do the first time! So, hopefully, all is now well with my system and library. Still wondering why it was telling me it was deleting twice as many images as were in the trash the last time I tried, but overall, much happier today!

How to delete multiple versions of the same song file?

I recently moved my iTunes music file to an external hard drive, and for some reason, it took iTunes a few tries before it recognized the new location of my music (I had to change the location in the preferences a few times because it kept changing itself back...?) So I ended up with those infamous exclamation points next to all of my songs because iTunes couldn't find any of the files.
I ended up just deleting my entire library and re-adding it to try and solve the problem, but somehow, in the process, iTunes made (sometimes multiple) copies of almost everything. The weirdest part of this is that most of the albums have 3 copies of everything, a few have four (?!), and some did not get copied at all.
There has to be an easy way to consolidate and delete mutiple versions of the same file, but how? I have tried everything I can think of. The "consolidate library" function tells me it is going to copy everything again (how is that "consolidating"?)
I have 15GB of music and do not want to go through and delete thousands of songs manually.
HELP!

This doesn't quite work as it displays all of the tracks that have been duplicated, including the originals, meaning I would delete all of the copies and no longer have those songs, or still have to go in manually for everything.
I also tried displaying the date added for everything, hoping iTunes had made the copies on different days, but everything was added and copied on the same day, so I wasn't able to differentiate the files that way, either.

Error While Deleting Planning Version

Hello to all!
We have problem with deleting planning versions:
1. When i try to delete planning version, i recieve ABAP Dump with CONNE_IMPORT_WRONG_OBJECT_TYPE so i can't delete any planning versions in my system
2.Then when i try to access properties of plannining version appers the message that liveCache is not avaliable
3. In addition when i try to delete whole model it deletes it but when i refresh the screen i see model which i have already deleted
Please help me to solve this problems.

You should delete variant in transaction SE38 (but i dont remember what variant (but this is one of the variant in this note) exactly you should delete so try it yourself.)

Which particular .msi file is the message going on to say can't be found? (Several different msi files can be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

Delete Previous Version - file associations

Have a question on file association problems when deleteing previous version of PS.
For example user bought CS5 and installed. File Associations now changed by defauilt to CS5.
If user un-installs CS4, the file associations now revert back to CS4, even though that version is not on computer.
Changing file associations is Bridge and in the OS does not solve file association problem.
One either has to uninstall PS and wipe Adobe files, then re-install latest version, or go into OS registry and make changes. Registry changes can be difficult for many.
I am sure when CS6 is released we will again have this same scenero, as outlined above, repeated unless the code has been changed.
The question is: In CS6 will this bug have been eliminated?

Just because it's happend to multiple people doesn't make it not machine or user specific (a problem with user permissions on one computer can happen on another as well). I've never seen this behavior on any of my systems and I have to install and uninstall random versions of the software all the time. The most recently installed version of the software should always have the file type associations, regardless of what versions have been removed.
Have you been able to reproduce the issue on your own machine during testing?

I deleted my version of Adobe Flash Player for the latest version and then it wouldn't install. Now I have no version and need advice as to trying to install an older version or what?

Since the latest version of Adobe Flash Player wouldn't install after deleting the version I had that did work, should I try to install an older version?
I just checked in the control panel and my add/remove programs and listed is Adobe Flash Player Active X, version 11.1.102.55. But when I tried to view a video I could not and got a message saying I needed Adobe Flash Player. Now I'm really confused?????

What does "still won't work" mean? Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is very old. You might find that many sites require a newer version of Flash Player to view content, perhaps this is what you mean by "still won't work". Depending on your system, you may be able to upgrade to OS X 10.6 which will enable you to install the newest version of Flash Player. There's lots of information on this on the internet. Just search for "upgrade OS X 10.5.8 to 10.6" or similar.

I have a strange thing to do. I need to delete xml version tag (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>) from en xml file. I use a receiver file adapter and I want to know how it's possible to delete this tag.
I need to do that as receiving application collects xml messages and adds xml version in collected xml file.

My i tunes wont delete older version to download newer version

my i tunes downloads new version 3/4 of the way then says it cant delete older version.

yea it wont remove the older version of itunes
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

You can uninstall, not delete, if you want to, but they don't take up much room. There are features on the latest version that are missing from earlier versions.

How to delete modified version datasource

I removed a field from LO datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM , activated, tested successfully in R/3.
I replicated the datasource successfully in BW. But when activate the data source I am getting short dump ST22 ,the error message is " The ASSERT condition was violated". I am BI 7.0.
BW side in datasouece I found a not equal to sign ( which means M version is not equal to A version) and datasource is inactive.

Delete Production Version - Error

Hi
When I try to delete the production version, System wont allow to delete it and following message log is created -
Argument not contained in table T437s
Deleting Production Version 0001 for material XXXXXXXXXX is not possible
I checked table T437s and there is not entry for that matierla and plant combination. Also there is NO PCC created yet

Can I safely delete old versions???

In add/remove programs I have 3 versions of Java:
J2SeRuntime Environment 5.0 update 4 144.00MB
Java2Runtime Environment Std Edition v1.3.1 22.15MB
Java2Runtime Environment SE v1.4.2_07 130.00MB
I sure would like to get rid of some of these huge files if they're not needed, but no where does it say that we can delete previous versions when we upgrade to a new one.
Can someone please help? I don't want to delete something that contains files that are needed to run the current version, etc.

No you do not need to delete the current version and no you do not import anything
just backup your iPhoto library and upgrade the iPhoto application will upgrade your existing library when you launch it - No importing involved (never iomport an iPhoto library into an iPhoto library)

Delete a version --- what am I doing wrong?

Hello everyone. I'm using Aperture 1.5.1. I have a NEF file that I sent to Photoshop Elements 4.0 as a TIFF to do some editing. This was done through the 'Open with External Editor' command. Upon returning to Aperture, I found the file as edited stacked to the NEF. NO problems with any of that.
However, I decided I wanted to delete the TIFF file. So, I select File -> Delete Version. (or ctrl click -> Delete Version)
When I do that, I get a screen pop that is advising that I am about to Delete Master Image and All Versions.
I am assuming that this has something to do with the 'Open with External Editor' action that I did because I do not get this pop when I do Delete Version on an image that I manually created a Version on. It just deletes the version as usual.
What am I missing?? How is this supposed to work and how can I delete this 'Open with External Editor' version without deleting the master??

Gary2010 is right. I'll elaborate a bit further...
Your original master is a NEF. When you import it into Aperture you see the first version as a "window" of adjustments over the NEF. Originally, it has no adjustments so the window is "clear." When you adjust the version, you are seeing the NEF through the "window" of adjustments. If you create additional versions, then you are seeing the NEF through additional "windows."
Now, when you choose the command, "Open with External Editor," Aperture cannot send the NEF Master to the external editor, so it has to make a TIF file (or a PSD file if you have chosen that in Preferences). This isn't the same as the "window" of adjustment instructions, so it is not a Version in the same sense. It is actually a NEW PHYSICAL TIF (or PSD) file, and a new Master. The file is placed in the Aperture Library and becomes a Managed, even if your original NEF is Referenced. Any adjustments applied to the Version you clicked on when you chose the "Open with External Editor" command are applied to the new file, and it is opened in the external editor.
The confusion comes because Aperture stacks the new Master TIF file with the NEF file and its Versions. There is a difference though. The new file has the target badge showing it is an externally edited file (which I'm sure you've noticed).
However, make note of this: If you make additional Versions of the original NEF, they are stacked with the NEF, but also surrounded by a lighter gray box; sort of a stack within a stack. The lighter gray box shows you the Versions that all belong to one Master. You will notice that the new TIF file is not inside the lighter gray box. It is stacked together with the original NEF like any other Master file could be if you chose to stack them together. Aperture just figures that you want them stacked together because they are so similar.
I hope I explained this well enough. I also found it confusing at first. You've already crossed the first big hurdle of realizing that you are seeing a first Version and not the Master when you import an image.
