Deleting/Modifying Account Information

I helped a friend with a new mac create a new ichat account using AIM, however, it is not allowing him to log in.
1. How do you have it email you your acount info back to you? I went to the AOL site and there is a forgotten password option, however, it asks for account info used to make payments (I'm assuming this is you are a paid AOL customer), and it will not send it without this.
2. How do you clear out the info that displays in the username/password fields when you start ichat so it does not default to the same ones.
3. Is there a way to clear everything so that you can click on the ichat icon and have it take you step-by-step again through the process of creating a new account like it does the first time you launch the program?

I changed my .mac password and was unable to log into iChat. After trying to make sure my keychains were updated and that FireVault wasn't sabotaging my system, I figured out that my new password was just too long for AIM! They have a password length limit, and since mine was too long, it registered as incorrect because AIM did not read the entire thing.
Not sure if this may be your problem, but hope this saves someone else some time!

How to delete wireless account information?

Hi,
We are getting into the business of providing students, in the classroom, to use ipad mini to be used just for classroom work. However, in order to connect to the wireless, the student(s) needs to enter the user id and password. We would like to have the ipad configured to erase browser history, user id and password as soon as the ipad are plug back to a cart or turn off.
Is there an application or a configuration in the ipad that will allow us to acomplish this goal?

It sounds like Apple Configurator may help you do what you're trying to accomplish. It's a free app, developed by Apple for configuring and managing multiple iOS devices. I've found a couple resources for you to check out:

How to Delete account information from "My Mail" Portlet permanently?

Hi Everyone,
I am using "My Mail" portlet from the portlet library provided by BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1(Service Pack 3).
Can anyone tell me how to Delete account information from "My Mail" Portlet permanently?
The problem is , once i configure my account with the mail portlet, it always takes me to my inbox folder whenever i use that portal. I want to delete my account information from this portlet.

Scripts for adding/deleting/modifying Open Directory accounts?

I think I have searched high and low for an answer to this question, but if I missed it please point me in the right direction. Where can I find information on scripts for adding/deleting/modifying open directory accounts? At the very least, a command line utility with some syntax guidelines! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I personally don't know if any scripts although you can use the command line to do pretty much anything you want with the Open Directory. Consult the manual: man dscl. If you launch terminal and issue dscl you should see something like this:

I have requirement to Search Account information and its related Contact relation on based of Email ID .I want to delete entities from Contact relation for particular criteria and modify the Account Entity .
1. I have search account at IC agent for Email ID

So my issue is i have to delete top 10 entities (BuilContactPersonRel) )where Contact Email is not Equal to Account Email , And i want to Update bo_col with 3 remain entities as am passing this to Context node . I am looking for BOL logic to achieve this ...
I just want to remove entity from bo_col not permanent from database .
bo_col and ir_bo_col same....

I want to explain more ..
1. i want to search account on based of email id and when search done i am getting 13 entities for contact for that account .
Account email id : [email protected]
and there are 2 contact as shown below having same email id ..
So i want to display only two of them contact having same email id as account having.
2. ir_bo_col contain account entity and in it relation have contact with its 13 entity , so i want to remove 11 entity from contact relation and want to show only 2 in contact view ....
I hope it clear to know more...
I guess applying filter on ir_bo_col not work becuase it will add filter to Account entity not it relation (Contact) .
Do have any idea ?

Go to iTunes menu, STORE and sign out. Then you can sign in from there or create a new account which should match the account you have on your iPad and iPhone.

TS3899 I upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 6 and now I can't get my work e-mail anymore. I've tried deleting the account and re-adding, per other forum suggestions, and still no luck. Also, there is no longer an "Advanced" section to enter information.

I then deleted the account and tried to re-add it, per discussions in other forums, and it won't verify the account. In addi tion, there was previously an Advanced section in the e-mail account setting, and now there isn't - don't know if that is part of the probem and the phone needs additional information that it's not asking for anymore . . . I'm beyond frustated. Many hours of lost productivity. Any suggestions? Can I got back to the previous version? I was thinking of buying new phone in next few months, but if this is resolved I'm leaving Apple.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

It is my understanding that if you delete the account per the instructions below, you will be able recreate, but you will NOT have access to the prior BBM contacts.

You have to remember either the BlackBerryID password, or the secret question answer. Without either, you're stuck.
Your choices are:
--Use another email account to create an entirely new BlackBerryID (with which you will lose access to any purchased apps using the "forgotten" first BlackBerryID, or
--Find the initial email you were sent to confirm the initial BlackBerryID, and in it is a link to click to cancel and delete the account. Click on that, delete the account and then you can use that same email to create an entirely new account.

Deleting an account and related information

When deleting an account does all the related information get deleted?
Does the account also get deleted from historical analysis?

When an account is deleted the associated Opportunity is deleted (except for opportunities that are Closed/Won or Closed/Closed), the associated Asset is deleted (if it is not associated with another object), the associated Task or Appointment is deleted (if it is not associated with another object). Contacts and Service Requests are not deleted. Also, the account is deleted from historical analysis at the next ETL.

Hmm... looks like this is an issue for that email provider for some reason.
A user in a bt.com forums recommends turning off Push Emails settings.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Turn Push Off.
Coudln't hurt to try it and see if the issue resolves itself.

After deleting user account / Unknown user is shown in information ...

After having some troubles with my account, I tried to get rid of it by deleting this account.
So I first edited a new one and after all I removed the old one.
Since this moment I have an UNKNOWN USER without having read/write-priviliges to my disk.
Unfortunately this user is not removable.
Does someone having this problem too?
Some hints about this matter?

Exactly what did you do to remove your old account? I hope you didn't just drag it to the Trash. If so then you don't have an account because dragging the old Home folder to the Trash is not how you remove an account.
You say you "edited" a new account. How did you do this?

I guess you're correct. I haven't visited that page and gone through the various menus in almost a year. You might post your problem to the feedback forum http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1076 and see what comes back. It might be that if you delete your Apple ID, that would screw up all the databases containing it, especially WRT any of your posts.

No. It would have been done for security reasons. You notified them that money was being unknowingly taken from your account, so they froze it.
Change your Apple ID here
And also check for unusual activity on your credit card with your bank. Change all your security password while you are at it.

Deleting inactive accounts

We have several home directory servers here and we're trying to weed out inactive accounts. Unfortunately, as people have left the college their homes haven't been deleted and their accounts are still active. Is there an easy way to determine the last time that someone has authenticated through Open Directory? If not, is there an easy way to see the last time that their home was modified? With either of these pieces of information we'll be able to disable the other side and free up space on the server.

If you log in as root you can goto the HomeDIR in the finder and sort as List view. Every time a user logs in that top level of the homedir folder in modified.
As far as WGM you can use the advanced password options and set all accounts to "Disable Login" after inactive for XX days. After you set this for lets say 30 days you can come back to WGM and all users that have not logged into there Home would be inactive users.
BTW Both option require that the users login to the server and it might create problems if you have e-mail only users. I'm pretty sure if the user was using webmail or just POP forwarding/retrieving his e-mail that you might delete his account by accident.
Beyond that the only way to get the info your looking for would be to have a Log snifer set to track it or be using ARD to Track client/users login. Maybe some other Admins have other ideas.
