Problem with alert Configuration screen ( RWB)
Hi,
I had configured Aertcatdef in development and alert rules in alert configuration in RWB,
I am moving from DEV to QUA , Alertcatdef is moved and i am defining rules in Alertconfiguration.
I am getting only half screen of Alert configuration. I refreshed the cache but no use.
Can any one tell the solution for the above problem.
Regards,
ShaikHi shaik,
The following manual changes are required in u r server.
1.) Select the SXMSALERT package in transaction SE80.
2.) Open the nodes BSP library -> BSP applications -> SXMS_AlertRules ->Views.
3.) Open the AddRule.htm view in the Workbench.
4.) In rows 5, 11 and 41, replace "50%" with "100%".

Problems with Alert Configuration on SP19
All,
I have configured alerts couple of time. This is first time I am doing it on SP19 systems.
I faced some problems and it seems to be not that consistent.
Can any one tell me if they had any problems with this.
reg,Hi All,
Another update,
Incase the alert will be visible in other users inbox with a Confirmed Tick Mark only once. Next time he logs in the alert wont be visible in his inbox.
Sorry for the confusion..
Thought will update you again..
Just confirmed one more alert in my system with ABC user id. It was not visible in the XYZ users inbox even with a tick mark.
So whatever is the case if someone confirms a alert other users will be able to know that the alert has been confirmed by a tick mark or the alert will not visible in there inbox.
Cheers,
Sumit

Hi,
We have some problem with alert configuration in RWB. When I started working on alert configuration we could not get anything except an error message. We found that we have made some mistakes in Exchange Profile which we changed. Now we are getting a popup where we are supposed to give the username and password to log into the alert configuration and alert inbox. The problem lies here, we are not able to login with any user. Need help in this regard.
What are the steps that has to be taken to get this alert configuration working (I checked in Help and also applied related notes)
Which user has the authorization to log into alert configuration of RWB?
Regards,
Vedavyas

Message was edited by: Vedavyas CuntheepuramHi ved,
the roles reuired to access the RWB are:
1. SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER
2. SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER_MAIN
The roles for the Alert Management are:
1. SAP_ALM_ADMINISTRATOR
2. SAP_ALM_CUSTOMIZER
3. SAP_BC_ALM_ALERT_USER
Follow the below steps to make the alerts working:
1. create an Alert category Tr: ALRTCATDEF.
2. After creating the Alert Category, you also have to assign users for your alert. Click the button Fixed Recipients and assign users.
3. Log in to RWB and You should see your Alert Category in RWB. Subscribe to this Alert in the RWB and test your message.
Thanks

Alert Monitor with exceptions in WAD
Hi All,
I'm trying to use alert monitor in web application designer to show two queries with red, green and yellow statuses. In my web template, I have inserted two queries in two tables (both queries have exceptions) and alert monitor as web item. In properties(context menu), I choose infocube on which these queries are build, marked the red, yellow, green status ,mentioned them in list of columns entry and checked the display toolbar entry.
When I execute , It shows the display of alert monitor drop down box with functions (from Info provider, info area, queries..etc) and alert boxes for red, yellow and green. If I check on red box and uncheck other boxes, still I'm seeing all records with other status as well. There is no change in the query result if I switch from red , green or yellow. And also I am not seeing how many rows of red , green or yellow alerts which i should as i have selected in the list of columns entry.
I've set the exceptions in Reporting Agent for these two queries also.
Any Idea why I'm not getting the functionality of alert monitor. Do I need to set up something for alert monitor to work in reporting agent or in alert management in order to use .Am i missing something in configuration
Any ideas and solutions..
Thanks in advance,LauQ,
Did you figure out the solution?? Is it something to do with the settings of exceptions in reporting agent. I strongly feel so, as the configuration for alert monitor is straight forward in WAD. There is a How to Guide document on..How to Intergrate BW reporting agent with Alert Framework. Did you have a look at it. I'm glancing it right now.. You can find in sdn.. May be that helps.. Please let me know if you get something... I'm still working on this issue..
Thanks ,

Can we have 2 Alert Configurations with same XI Server, Local&Central(CCMS)
Hi,
I am looking to configure Local Alert Configuration with XI Server,
It already had CCMS Alert Configurations in place, But the solution Manager
is forwarding alerts related to all the Servers (ECC,CRM,BW,XI). It is becoming
difficult to track the alerts of XI.
So my question is is it possible to have 2 alert configurations with XI l ocal & Certral (CCMS)?.
What are the effects if we have both.
I think it is possible to maintain xi specific alerts to specific mail ID's . But basis is finiding difficult in doing this.
Let me know suggestions if you have any in this case.Yes you can have your own PI specific alerts.
You do this via ALRTCATDEF (as stated earlier)
You can edit the message header so you know if it's PI generated or if you log in as PISUPER to configure this then the sender will be PISUPER
Alternatively, why dont you ask BASIS to turn off monitoring for XI and allow you do a more fine-tuned version of this monitoring.
Or even better, dont create any local alerts but have BASIS finetune the central alerts so that the affected system is included in the subject header, also have them create roles for these systems and ensure messages are only sent to the impacted role. Blindly sending messages for all system to all system owners is really lazy config. -
Problem with CCMS PI7.1 alert configuration for RWB Alert count
Hi,
We have configured CCMS alert for PI7.1 RWB failure count. Alert is getting triggered only one time and after that no alerts. I can see the change in data but alert is not getting triggered. If I complete the alert then immediately in next run a new alert is generated with last reported data and then again there will be no alert going forward. Data is collected but no alert is triggered. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it? Please help.
Thanks,
Kavitha Rajan.Hi Jayan,
Our PI alert configuration is fine. And also we did not choose multiple suppress method. Problem is with Solution Manager CCMS PI alert configuration for failed RWB count. After initil alert and then nomore alerts are triggered. If I complete the alert then again only first alert is triggered and again no alerts going forward. Please advice.
Thanks,
Kavitha Rajan. -

Runtime Error STRING_BAD_REF
Date and Time 29.09.2006 08:58:00
ShrtText
A string reference with destroyed context was destroyed.
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "CL_BSP_MODEL==================CP" had to be
terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
The system discovered an invalid value while accessing a string
reference:
String reference (hexadecimal): 1900000002000000
String header ID: 2
String header ID (hex): 00000002
Check value (hex): 000000
Shared objects lock flag: 0
Check value (hexadecimal): 19
The check value should be hexadecimal "ED".
This is not the case.
How to correct the error
The contents of the string value were probably overwritten in the
memory of the ABAP application program.
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.

System Monitoring with Solution Manager Ehp1
Hi,
I'm Tomas Piqueres, and I'm working in a VAR SAP with Solution Manager.
Recently, we installed Solution Manager Ehp1 and we are trying to configure it for System Monitoring. When I worked with Solution Manager SP17 I used to go to transaction RZ21 to add the system I wanted to monitoring and then put the SID and RFCs of the system.
Now with Solution Manager Ehp1, when I create the system in transaction RZ21, first I have to set the Component Type to Be Monitored and then the SID, Message Server Logon Group, the client and user are set automatically, and the password I've set to user CSMREG.
when I fill all the entries, I can see the RFCs used for the monitoring of the system. Those RFCs are set automatically:
<SID>_RZ20_COLLECT
<SID>_RZ20_ANALYZE
I can't edit those RFCs, so I have to create it manually. I check that RFCs destination works fine and both pass the authorization test, so when I try to save the system at transaction RZ21, I see the following errors:
<SID>_RZ20_COLLECT_123539Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SAL_MS_GET_LOCAL_MS_INFO function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of SALC function: Error when opening an RFC connection
Error during remote call of RFC1 function: Error when opening an RFC connection
I've been looking for information about those errors and how to monitoring with Solution Manager Ehp1, but I haven't found anything usefull.
Please, Could you help me?
Thanks and regards,
Tomas.Tomas,
I need to configure EWA from my Solman system and I completed the steps (defining and creation of RFC destinations to the target systems from my Solman system). I downloaded the lates ccmsagent file from the market place based my target system configurations.
Herewith attaching the logs while I'm trying to check the profile parameter.

Problem with alerts in the alert inbox
Hi experts,
I have configured AE alerts and I wanted to display the Error details as in RWB in the alert as well. With the help of SDNers in the thread
Alerts for JDBC adapter
I added SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT in the container.
Now, alerts are getting generated and I could see the value for error description in the report alrtdisp for the alert generated as:
<i>java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/sap/workdir/output.txt (Permission denied (errno:13))</i>
but the alert in the alert inbox displays a blank in place of this description.
any clues?Hi,
check the Alert catagory first,i odnt think u will not get the Alert discription if u get the Alert in Alert inbox.
Checks some links on Alerts.

Reward Points if Helpful -
Hi everybody.
I' ve customized an alert to receive a mail when the mapping fails in a intefase.
At first time when the error ocurred i could see in the integration engine monitor that the interfase had an error and i recived a mail to inform me about that.
Later I could see more messages with the same error in the integration engine monitor but I didn´t receive any mail.
Now, althoug error messages for that interfase get to integration engine monitor with error I don´t get any mail.
What could be happenning??
RegardsHi Christian,
First check the Alert configuration in RWB and check there the interface name and the error location is correct and also check the Alert Inbox whether you are getting any messages. Then check in ABAP stack SU01 the mail address (Recipients in ALRTCATDEF t-code).
- In case you are getting any messages in RWB's Alert inbox and not to your email address, then check the given email address in SU01.
- If you are not getting any messages in the RWB's Alert inbox then check your Alert rule configuration.

Hi, at the moment I face an interesting monitoring requirement. See below. I hope you experts can help me out? Many thanks for all your feedback
REQUIREMENT
<u>Users want to view the status of the message as it flows through the Sender, Hub(s) and Receiver(s).</u>
Preferably without opening any other applications (nice-to-have)
1 central (monitoring) application
Drill-down to the state of the message in the process pipeline (nice-to-have)
Preferably near realtime (nice-to-have)
Solution must be as generic and cheap/easy as possible, meaning costs:benefits effective. Pretty obvious, we don't want huge developments...
BACKGROUND
<u>SAP and non-SAP applications are involved in message exchange.
Only SOAP, IDoc and XI Adapters are used.
SAP PI, version 7.00, is the message Hub (1 Integration Server + Central AE).</u>
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
<u>PMI (end-2-end monitoring in RWB, package SPI) seems the most promising (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/a8/a81b0b6473cb49bc34effad6eab13b/content.htm) .
</u>
Only covers PMI-enabled SAP-components (IE, ALE, AF, Java?),
<i>What about non-SAP applications?</i> It looks complicated, and there is no documented API.
User-unfriendly GUI (via the RWB), although it is centrally located
<i>Is drilling down into a message possible?</i> For example going to an IDoc in a backend system as with BD87.
Not really realtime (a lot of jobs required: agents, aggregation)
<u>Alert Management (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/3f/81023cfa699508e10000000a11402f/content.htm )</u>
Usually reserved for error situations.
Alerts can be raised easily by other applications (especially ABAP)
ccBPM can be used (only for the XI part of the message exchange)
OR the pipeline definition can be enhanced. <i>Has anyone experience with this?</i> Implementing a ZCL_PLSRV* class plus modifying the SXMSPIPEEL, SXMSPLSRV, etc. tables.
Aggregating Alerts that all refer to 1 message exchange (1 process) is difficult. <i>Has anyone experience with this?</i>
Drill down to the actual message not possible, must use other tools
<u>Acknowledgements (especially application acks)</u> SOAP (and other AF) Adapters cant handle app acks.
This might be bypassed by providing a generic (web)service that accepts messages that can be routed via the <pipeline>_BACK to the original message (comparable to the ALEAUD IDoc). <i>Has anyone done this before?</i> For Senders using the SOAP Adapter the message header could be enhanced to request app acks (pos/neg). <i>Can this be done via a Java Module?</i> Or the IS pipeline definition could be enhanced later on. <i>Has anyone experience with this?</i> Implementing a ZCL_PLSRV* class plus modifying the SXMSPIPEEL, SXMSPLSRV, etc. tables.
Standard acks are linked to the sending message, but usually dont give very helpful information. <i>Where can this be enhanced?</i> For ALEAUD we can modify the IDoc processing (outbound/inbound).
<i>When are acks (application and system, positive and negative) actually raised? Can this be configured/adapted anywhere?</i>
Not 1 place wherefrom the message exchanges can be monitored, but in multiple Senders.
Too bad, but it was a nice-to-have.
Drill down only possible in Sender (probably), must use other tools
<u>CCMS</u>
I dont see that CCMS can be enhanced to cover this requirement. <i>Anyone who has a different idea?</i> Feel free to post all your opinions, how exotic these may sound (initially).
<u> Other ...</u>
Maybe I took a wrong turn somewhere. If you have a very elegant but different solution, please point me in that direction. Im quite curiousHi,
as explined above Alerts are not only from ccBPM,
Actually alerts from SAP Alert management.

Hi,
I have configured a sender e-mail adapter. The adapter is polling the inbox of an e-mail account. Is it possible to monitor this action with alerts?
E.g. the email account is locked. So the adapter in the adapter monitoring is red and shows an error message. Is this error picked up by the alerting framework?
I don't get any alerts on this situation.
RonRon,
Like mentioned , check the note 913858 .
Also, just try this,
Make where the error occured as ALL ( INCLUDE INTEGRATION ENGINE and ADAPTER ENGINE ) and then test the user and see if the Alerts are generated.
Also, check for any dump in St22

Bhavesh
