Deleting multiple chat Messages across devices

First in Moutain Lion, is there a way to select all conversation and close or delete, rather then selecting each conversation and closing them individually? Second, why aren't the conversations linked across all the devices deleted when you delete it on one device. It would seem that if you can chat across the platforms, that when you close the conversation on you iphone, then the conversation would close globally on your mac and ipad. Answers?

HI,
It seems that the thinking around the "Syncing" could fall in to two schools:-
1) The User can then use the Mac Version to Store Conversations rather then just keeping them on the iPhone or iPad.
2) The "Syncing" is more on the lines of "Display on all Devices" rather than an ability to change or react on one device and have it show on all.
I tend to Save my chats so I have not played with the options in the File Menu of Messages on the Mac.

    Hello conniefromtulsa,
The process for deleting multiple messages is detailed in the iPhone User Guide:
Delete, move, or mark multiple messages. While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select some messages, then choose an action. If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.

To 5hownewsday. Have you tried deleting with Delete all prior, and deleting each one by itself. I could not delete some texts also. So I found that deleting each one, one at a time worked for me.

  • Skype doesn't sync chat messages between devices

Hi, I have Lumia Denim (Application Version: 3.14.1.6; Core Build ID 3058.50000.1424.10478 ) with Skype (2.26.0.159 ). Since the Lumia Denim update, there is no chat message syncronization between my desktop computer and the windows phone client at all. It is not slow, this function is dissapeared. Do you have any suggestion about the resolution or maybe could you please give me any advice how could I give back my skype credit euros? Thanks,Zsolt

My skype chat messages no longer sync across devices either (samsung - andriod and pc - win7).  This has only just started to happen (since Thur 30th/Fri 31st Aug).   Did you find a resolution to your problem?  Does anyone know why this has happened?

  • Can no longer delete multiple emails from any device (iPhone/iPad)

I have updated software on all my devices iPhone 4S, iPad 2, Ipad3. I have attempted to delete multiple items by selecting the edit button and then selecting the desired emails to discard. After selecting only a couple of emails the emails to be deleted are unselected automatically and I can not delete them. Even when I attempt to swipe right to left if I am not fast enough my option to send to trash is unselected (automatically again) and I can not delete it. I have attempted a reset without successful resolution of the problem. Email inboxes are stacking up. Any assistance is appreciated.

Try a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

  • How to delete a chat message

Hello, I'm trying do delete a sent message, I alredy intalled Skype for desktop, but I'm still unavailable to delete that message.

There IS a way which I use to delete messages I don't want any more, but it needs a bit of patience and a good text editor such as (free) NoteTab or the even better NoteTab Pro.
In my XP system and probably in a similar place in Vista and later Windows versions, the messages are stored under the following. Note that my XP is the Swiss German version, so you'll need to work out which main folder I mean.
    C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\[your PC name]\Anwendungsdaten\Skype\[your name]\chatsync
so something like C:\Documents and Settings\your pc user name\... User date (?) then go from there.
You will see a whole bunch of files named 00, 0a, 0b, 0c, 0d etc. and these contain one or more "dat" files (e.g. 1b930d890f8a9f78.dat) which contain information plus the actual text in plain text. So you can check on the dates, drag and drop them to your text editor, look through them, keep any info you want to a different file, then delete the dat file. It does no harm by what I can see. My Skype still works perfectly. It might be wise to keep say, one from each of your active IM chat contacts just to avoid his or her name from being totally deleted.
Maybe someone can find a similar folder on Vista, Win7 and Win8 and post the location here.

  • Deleted emails not syncing across devices

Until recently when I deleted an email on one device, it would sync on all of them. Now I'm having to delete them manually on each one. I use various devices Samsung phones, Ipad, Android tablets and always worked fine. None of the settings have changed on any of them so not sure why it's suddenly stopped working. All still using imap servers.

I have this problem too..... very annoying

  • Deleting Multiple (unread) messages aka Mouse Misbehaving

I am running the latest version of Leopard and Mail on my G5. I noticed that after activating Mobile Me that when I read mail and delete a message, that the one above (not read yet) also deletes. I then have to go to Edit > Undelete to get my unread message back. Thinking it might have been a Mobile Me issue, I stopped syncing Mail and have only the calendar in sync mode. That did not solve the issue.
Don't know if it is related, but I also note that with multiple windows open, when I reposition a window by grabbing the header, the window minimizes instead of letting me drag it to its new location.
I have not changed the mouse, no third party software etc.

        moransl88,
Thanks for reaching out to us. I can see how that can become annoying after awhile. I would like to see if we can help with getting you back on track. What kind of device do you have? Please keep us posted.

  • Cannot delete multiple email messages on my Perl - HELP

I have a feeling that I am behind this issue, but I am stuck to even get a clue where to get started.
I have a Blackberry Perl 8130 and have used the Shift key to highlight multiple messages so I can delete them en masse.
Recently, I upgraded my Opera Mini 4.1 to my device and then decided to install the Google Maps application.
Well, after installing these items, I found that I could no longer use the Shift Key to assist me to select multiple messages for deletion.
I have uninstalled Opera Mini and will uninstall Google Maps next.   My main concern is that whatever setting was affected will not be changed back.
Is anyone on the board familiar with this issue?  Is this a setting that I can reset manually?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

I have had my 8130 for less than 2 months and was also completely at a loss on how to do this. Thanks! Kudos!

  • How do you delete multiple email messages without checking off each one at a time?

Looking for help to figure out how to delete emails previous to certain dates or in large quantity without clicking on each one.  Already held down control button and tagged multiple emails...yet want to delete previous emails in large quantity.
    Thanks in advance for help...

Click on the first one you want gone then
    1) hold down the Shift and click on the last one you want gone when they are consecutive, then Right click and select Move to trash or Delete
    2) Hold down either the Option or Control or Command key (Sorry I forget which key is used on the Mac for this, It is Control on PC) then click on the individual mails you want gone then as above.

  • Deleting multiple test messages on ios 8

I have run into a weird problem since I started using ios 8. I get a lot of text messages (mobile notifications from twitter feeds) and when I touch a message, I get the Copy/More option with the little trash can showing up in the bottom left corner. I can then check each message I want to delete. No problem. When I stop deleting to read a message and then press a message to delete it, I don't get the trash can icon on the bottom so I can't delete it. I have to close the message app and reopen it to get the trash can back again. Anyone else experiencing this??

  • Delete Multiple Windows phones from Device Manager

I attach many windows phones to Windows 7 and it is a pain to remove hundreds from the device manager one at a time.
Is there any way to remove all of them at once? Perhaps similar to how you can remove many printers using Cmd (wmic printer where "Local='True'" delete)?
Please tell me there is an easier way!

What about using a 3rd party tool ?

  • Syncing messages across devices.

I use skype in 3 different ways , Skype for Desktop, Skype for Windows (that tile style app) and skype beta on Outlook, none of the converstion get synced when I move to other one. If timezone is issue it should display somewhere around "yesterday" or even "week", but no luck.

    HI,
Syncing when using an Apple ID  (which the Touches and iPads can only do) needs you to create a Start Point.
If you are using Messages on your computer and were using the Apple ID on the iPad before it is best to turn everything Off  so that when you turn things On again all devices contact the iMessages server.
There is an issue with iPhones in that they can send Messages from the iPhone Number and the Apple ID.
iMessages sent from the iPhone Number will not sync (At this Present time) to the Apple ID.
In Messages beta I actually removed all my Messages on my iPhone to create the Start Point.

  • How Can I delete multiple messages from the same address in Mac Mail

Hope this is in the correct Community.  Hope someone can help me to delete multiple email messages from the same email address.
At the moment I can do it by holding down the Command key and highlighting each email, but that can be difficult with many messages
to delete.  Is there a quicker way?
Thanks for any help on this.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate your input.  I did find another way of doing it and that is to highlight the first e-mail, hold down the shift key and click on the last one.  That highlights them all and then they can all be deleted.  Your ideas also work of course and I thank you for that.  Cheers.
