Deleting music on iTunes as well on computer location.

Hello I recently decided to cleanup my itunes library. In the process of doing this i deleted almost 5GB, however it didnt delete the music files on my computer as well. Is their a way to get this done.?
Can delete that whole folder on my computer and put it on the iTunes Media Folder.?

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

If you activate match on your new laptop, you will have access to all music that you matched or uploaded. You have the option to retain the music by downloading to your computer. If you delete music, it will delete from cloud.

You can't change it. It's red to warn you not to tap it.
You don't need to worry. If you accidentially did tap it, you would see a message like the first image below (this is an example from an iPhone). As you can see, you have the option to tap Cancel. And even if you didn't, the next thing you would get is a message like the second image below, which gives you a second chance to tap Cancel. And if you choose Delete from My iPad on the second prompt, it would still only delete the account and your synced data from your iPad, not from iCloud. It would be synced back to your iPad if you signed back in.
If you're worried about your contacts, download the app My Contacts Backup and use it to back up your contacts as an attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself and keep it on your computer. You can later open the email on your iPad and tap the attachment to import your contacts back to your iPad should you ever need to.

As of today I can no longer delete music from iTunes.

I can't seem to delete music from iTunes 10.(whatever the latest version is) or on my iPhone4. I just want to change what I have on my iPhone, but then I realized that it may be an issue with iTunes after I tried to delete something there.
I only know of two ways to delete music. One is to select/ highlight want I want to delete and select the delete funtion in the edit part of the bar. The other is to do the Command D shortcut. Neither of these work as of today. Yesterday it did indeed work for I changed some stuff before work.
I am nothing of a techy sort. Here is some info, but it may be invalid.
*I have an eMac running Leopard.
*iTunes 10.4 (I think) last update a few days ago.
*iPhone 4...updated today with the new updates.
*I have my music saved on an external harddrive. I have the folder set up to put my library there.
*Edit/ Delete doesn't work, neither does Command D.
This is the only issue I've ever had. Any suggestions?

It could be an issue with permissions on your system.
I would suggest beginning your troubleshooting by running Disk Utility (In the applications--> utilities folder), and choosing "Repair Permissions".
You should also check to see if the music has a little exclamation mark next to the song -- that means it isn't able to find your music, and you'll want to doubleclick the song to make sure it plays okay.
Secondly I would suggest you run Disk Utility again and this time you run it on your external drive and select "Repair Disk". That will check your external drive for problems.
My guess is that your iTunes Music Library file inside your User folder--> Music folder is damaged.. but see where you get with the Disk utility repairs first and let us know!

You copy the content of your iTunes Library to the iPhone by connecting to the iPhone to your computer, using the USB lead that came wiht the phone, and allowing iTunes and the iPhone to Sync with one another.
This will leave the content in your iTunes Library. An iPhone (or iPod) is not desinged to be the only location for your music (or other content). The idea is that the iPhone (or iPod) has a copy of the Library.

You can download individual tracks and delete music with itunes match on

You can delete music with itunes match on:
settings - general - use - music - all music
in the right corner above you can click on edit and choose delete.
You can also download individual tracks:
click on the "cloud download" icon in an album. It displays the icons to start downloading. You can tap on stop of the songs you don't want to download and then those songs won't be downloaded.

unfortunately the delete method deletes all the music you downloaded, not possible to delete individual tracks

You have tp delet it from every single thing in iTunes. Than sync a couple times and it should be gone.

I have deleted music from itunes but they are still in my computers 'iTunes' file - how do I sync my new library to my computer's saved version?

So I have gone back to my 8GB nano and needed to downsize my library so that the songs fit on.
I went through deleting songs and made sure that I clicked 'send to recycle bin' instead of save file.
Library looks great.
Go to 'My Music' and 'iTunes' and all the flipping songs are still there!
Tried empyting recycle bin, restarting computer, read lots of comments/forums on this problem but have not yet found a way to sync my new library with my computers stored library.
Please help?

Thank you for your reply, what I am trying to achieve is for my newly edited iTunes Library to be what is also stored on my computers hard drive - currently all the deleted songs are stored too (even though I clicked for them to be deleted from my computer).
I appreciate that I could have just created a smaller playlist but I actually wanted to get rid of music I don't listen to anymore.
So at the moment I have an iTunes library that I want to back up on my external hard drive - but if I go to my music>iTunes music to transfer to external hard drive it has all my deleted songs too, which I no longer want.

I've just deactivated my itunes account from my Mac, as I'm selling it and don't want it left on the computer. My music however is still there and i would like to know how yo remove it without deleting from my itunes account. My computer is a MAC G5.

I am selling my desktop and want to delete all my itunes music from my computer/desktop, but without deleting it from my actual itunes account account. Can I delete music in iTunes and not Nano??

I ripped some of my favorite CD's to iTunes and then put them on my brand new 16gb Nano. Now I don't want that music on my Mac HD any more, but I do want it in my Nano.

Click here, follow the instructions, and then delete the music from iTunes normally. Keep the CDs if you do this.

How can I get my music on iTunes on my new computer?

I just got a new computer because my old one totally died. All I want to do is get my iTunes on my new computer to have all my music on it, just like it was on my previous computer. I have an first generation iPod Touch, 16GB.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.
The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
