Deleting old email address in itunes login.

Recently handed my old iphone down to my wife.
When she goes to login to itunes it still shows my old email address.
How can I change this.
TIA, Craig.

She has her own iTunes account with her own iTunes library on a different computer, or she has her own iTunes account along with your iTunes account with the same iTunes library on the same computer?
For the former, she can restore the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone with iTunes on her computer. This will make her iTunes account available on the iPhone after syncing the iPhone with her iTunes library on her computer being logged in to her iTunes account along with removing all iTunes content on the iPhone that was purchased/downloaded with your iTunes account.
If the latter, she needs to be logged in to her iTunes account with iTunes on the computer you share when syncing the iPhone with iTunes. This should make her iTunes account available for the iTunes Store, the App Atore, and the Apple Store.

  • How to delete old email address

Every time I have a new mail and in the box To: I search for that specific name to find the email address, appear always a bunch of old addresses which are not valid anymore of course including latest. Is possible to delete old one, is quite annoying and confusing.
Also if I copy and paste from somewhere else an address and send a new mail, I cannot use right click of the mouse to paste it but works only with usual shortcut cmd-V, why this ?
    Thanks

Yes, you can delete old email addresses you do not use anymore by going to Mail>Window>Previous Recipient and selecting which old email addresses you want removed.
    hope this helps.

  • Cant delete old email address from icloud on my iphone 5, cant delete old email address from icloud on my iphone 5

Hi Everyone, have updated my primary email address in itunes etc and main apple account.  However i cant delete my old email off my iphone 5 from the icloud account.  It prompts me each time for my old address and password and when i try and put them in it says the password is wrong....my apps and everything else is ok, just the icloud.  Really fed up it wont let me delete it on my iphone.  Any help appreciated, have tried other past suggestions but i cant get past it asking for my old log in details which are now not working....

Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Delete old email address from cache on a MAC

Has there been a solution to delete old email addrss from the cache on a MAC?  I'm not talking about iPhone or iPad devices.  The last discussion on this topic was back in 2012 and it doesn't look as if this was resolved.
Bottom line, when you create an email on the mac, the auto fill pulls up every email address for an individual (current or not).  The correct email address are in the contacts, but the cache is storing the really old address.
    Suggestions are welcome.

Apart from the AddressBook, email addresses are also kept under 'Previous Recipients' in Mail, in the Window menu.

  • How can I delete old email addresses from the "From" drop down menu when sending emails?

I have some old email addresses, I think may be aliases that show up in the drop down box  in the "From" in email messages that I send.
They don't show up anywhere in the Preferences/Accounts panel at all.
    Very perplexed at this one.

From the Mail menubar, click Window and select Previous recipients. In there you can delete old email contacts.

  • Deleting old email addresses so they no longer pop up in MAIL program

    Hello,
I'm running the Apple Mail program, Version 2.1.3, on an iMac, with operating system version 10.4.11.
When I compose an email using Mail, and a type the first few letters of a person's name, the program automatically completes the email address for me for that person. However, some email addresses for my friends have changed, and I have entered their new addresses into the Address Book program; however, the old email address has not gone away, and continues to pop up in that line, along with the new address, too, as options of addresses to send to.
How do I permanently delete someone's old email address, so that it no longer pops up in the Mail program?
    Thank you,
    George

    gg3, welcome to Apple Discussions.
Open the Address Book. In the Name column, are there two entries for the person's name - one showing the old address & another showing the new address? If so delete the old Name/address.
If there is only one name entry, click once on the Name to highlight, then click on Edit (at bottom of window). Then a window opens for that person. Go to the "home" line & click on the arrows. Are more than one email address listed? If so, delete the old address.

  • Deleting old email address

How do I delete an old address that comes up when I address an email in my iPad?
    Thanks for your help.
    Vernon

Presuming that the old email address is not in Contacts then:
If, when you are typing in an email address, an old email comes up as a choice then there will be a blue arrow next to it. Touch the blue arrow, scroll up, and select the red Remove from Recents from the set of choices.
The email will no longer come up as a choice.

  • Deleting old email addresses from iPhone memory

I recently changed email addresses.  When I want to send a text or email, the auto complete function in my iPhone brings up my old email address.  How do I delete the old email address?

The iPhone caches contact lists and data for all the people it has ever e-mailed, received e-mail from, or seen as a contact. There is no way to clear that unfortunately. You could always try going to settings > general > reset > reset all settings, but I don't think that it will clear this.
In order to completely wipe my previously e-mailed list, I had to restore my phone.

  • Mail - how to delete old email addresses from FROM box?

    I'm using:
    Mail 4.5
    Snow Leopard 10.6.8
iCloud IMAP for my mac.com/me.com email address
When I compose new messages, in the FROM box are listed old mac.com email alias addresses that I have deleted.
I tried deleting the icloud IMAP account within mail, then recreating that account.  But still, those old alias email addresses still appear.  And one of them has the name of my ex-girlfriend, so I really want that off my screen, haha!
How can I delete those expired email address from the from box?
Otherwise, my iCloud IMAP account works fine.
    Thanks for your help!
    Bill

    Thanks, Kurt.
Yes, those are email aliases (that I created on mobileme) that I no longer I have.  I still have the main mac.com address, but today I deleted the aliases through iCloud.
And thanks.  But I already tried that.  After deleting the iCloud aliases on the iCloud website, I then deleted the iCloud account in preferences.  And in the FROM box, ALL the icloud email aliases and main mac.com addresses disappeared.  But when I recreated the iCloud acount within preferences, all those aliases reappeared in the from box.
I did another test - I set up the email account on my friend's computer (also running 10.6.8).  And same problem.  So looks like the problem is on iCloud's end.
Meaning that though I deleted those aliases from the iCloud website, when I create an email account from within Mail, it gets the info from the iCloud server and that hasn't been updated to reflect deleting those aliases.
    Hm.

  • Delete an email address from Firefox login.

I posted a question in regards to this account a short while ago. I can't reset my password for an account. I have used another email address to start a new account but I want to delete my other email from that account so I can use it in this account. How do I get that email and account erased??

    Hi,
I have an Apple ID that is based on a dial-up account I once had.
It also has a recovery email linked to this.
In addition when iCloud Started I linked it to iCloud and originally got an @me.com ID as well and later an @iCloud.com one as well.
I also have several other Apple IDs (mostly @mac.com com IDs gained for iChat during the MobileMe period) and I have removed the linked/recovery email from these to create new Apple IDs (you do eventually run out of emails to use). So I know it can be done.
However my regular Apple ID is also inked to my posting ID here at Apple Support communities.
I was once able to change the email from the Apple ID one to another for my email notifications but still list another in my Profile for direct contact.
I am not sure which is causing the issue but I find I can't follow the instructions that you are supposed to be able to use to "change" the Apple ID.
I certainly can't make it the @me.com or @icloud.com IDs (it says I can't use another Apple ID when they are in fact already part of this account).
I also see that the Profile here now forces you to use the Email  for notifications and not anything else.  (this might depend on who and where they are looking).
You can of course use the iForgot site to check if it just happens to be linked to another ID.
