Greetings,
I have an old email account with gmail, i.e. "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]," that I have attemped to delete the Google+ profile for. The deletion prevented Skype from launching on my Mac, OS X. Hence I had to reactivate the Google+ profile.
The email address currently used with my Skype account is "[e-mail removed for privacy and security]," and this is what shows in the Skype control panel as well as the account.
Does anyone have an idea as to what would cause such a thing? It makes no sense to me, however I'm no Skype guru. I really need to delete the account@gmail Google+ profile.

It has been a while since I looked at something similar, but I think I found that Gmail remembers all the addresses you have received email from or replied to. There might be a setting within the Gmail account when you sign into it from the computer.

Good luck. It took me weeks to fix this when I had to do it. Your old ID branches out in lots of places. You may have to delete app and get them again, at least that is what Apple told me. Plus, all of your settings on your iPad that required any ID, will have to be changed. My old ID kept showing up in different places for weeks. Changing it on Apple.com is just the beginning.

Yes, just open mail and click on the window menu and select previous recipients, when the window opens start edit your email addresses.

Every time I have a new mail and in the box To: I search for that specific name to find the email address, appear always a bunch of old addresses which are not valid anymore of course including latest. Is possible to delete old one, is quite annoying and confusing.
Also if I copy and paste from somewhere else an address and send a new mail, I cannot use right click of the mouse to paste it but works only with usual shortcut cmd-V, why this ?

Yes, you can delete old email addresses you do not use anymore by going to Mail>Window>Previous Recipient and selecting which old email addresses you want removed.

After I had updated to Itunes 11 (also on Windows 7), I had the same experience, but I suspect that it was because I accepted a proposal to set up an external media library in order to simplify security backups. An associated result was that I had lost all of my playlists!
What I did was to restore the entire library off my Ipod, using a very good program called PodToPC (a free download is available) selecting an option to replace all of the stuff in the Itunes library. I use the Ipod Classic simply because it has a large capacity to hold my collection of CD and Vinyls. No way was I going to modify duplicates of 10000 tracks in 750 playslists by hand! I did have a few residual problems with some of the playlist specs but, after a few hours of work all was restored.

Delete old email address from cache on a MAC

Has there been a solution to delete old email addrss from the cache on a MAC? I'm not talking about iPhone or iPad devices. The last discussion on this topic was back in 2012 and it doesn't look as if this was resolved.
Bottom line, when you create an email on the mac, the auto fill pulls up every email address for an individual (current or not). The correct email address are in the contacts, but the cache is storing the really old address.
Suggestions are welcome.

There is no way to turn off URL Autocompletee or to realistically clear the autocomplete list. Autocomplete gets its data from the cache, History, and Bookmarks. The only way to minimize autocomplete is to periodically clear the cache and History and to go through your Bookmarks and delete old and seldom used ones, including those created when Safari was first installed.
One work-around is to add an extra blank space either before you start typing or when you are done typing in the address. All the various alternatives will then disappear.
You can add your voice to all the others who want to turn autocomplete off by requesting a toggle in Preferences by sending a feature request via "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu.

Hi Everyone, have updated my primary email address in itunes etc and main apple account. However i cant delete my old email off my iphone 5 from the icloud account. It prompts me each time for my old address and password and when i try and put them in it says the password is wrong....my apps and everything else is ok, just the icloud. Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

The iPhone caches contact lists and data for all the people it has ever e-mailed, received e-mail from, or seen as a contact. There is no way to clear that unfortunately. You could always try going to settings > general > reset > reset all settings, but I don't think that it will clear this.
In order to completely wipe my previously e-mailed list, I had to restore my phone.

I know this is an old post but this is a quite common and relevant topic with which I've spent sometime and would like to drop the solution, at least for Fedora 22 under KDE. In order to avoid skype to start at startup/login (which is quite annoying and a privacy invasion) I just deleted the file /etc/prelink.conf.d/skype.conf and that was it.(let's see if this post is up in the skype forum for long ?!)
