Deleting On-The-Go Playlists

I'm having trouble deleting my On-The-Go Playlists. I've read that you can delete them if you have your I-Pod updating automatically when you connect it to the computer, but what about if you have it set on manual update? Any help would be great!

I've got 20Gb Click-Wheel I-Pod. I seem to be able to clear the playlist before I save it- but as soon as I click Save Playlist I can't seem to delete it. The only way I've read to delete on-The-Go playlists is to have automatic update enabled and I don't want to switch back to that on my computer as I've deleted most of my library off the computer.....

  • Deleted tracks on Iphone are not deleted from the itunes playlist

When I delete some tracks on iphone, I would like them to be deleted from the itunes playlist as well when syncing.
    how can i do it?
    thanks

I was just playing around with my YahooMail account too ...and it's a little different than the normal client/server sorta thing I've been used to ...
I was using my PC to draft a new Yahoo email, then saw it on my iPhone Email, in the Drafts ... edit the PC version, update iPhone, the edit appears.
The iphone doesn't download a copy of your messages, it interfaces directly with the server. If you do anything on either side (PC and/or iPhone) it affects your Yahoo Inbox.

  • How do I permanently delete 'On the Go' playlists?

I don't ever use 'On the Go' playlists on either my 3G iPhone or 2G Nano.
How do I *get rid* of my empty 'On the Go' playlists for good - in each case, please?
(Have tried deleting them when the device is connected to iTunes; they reappear.)
    TIA!

The one playlist "On-The-Go" is built in to the iPod. There's nothing you can do to it in iTunes, as far as I know. Every time you sync your iPod, iTunes empties the On-The-Go playlist and copies the contents to a new playlist, On-The-Go 1 etc. Those new playlists are just regular playlists that you can do anything you want to: you can rename them, add or remove songs, or delete them entirely.
I always just delete these when I notice them. They don't hurt anything.
The only time On-The-Go 1 etc. will appear is if you've actually put something in On-The-Go on your iPod. I don't know of any way to turn off that behavior.

  • How do you delete On The Go playlists?

I accidentely added like 4 playlists to On-The-Go...how do I delete them? Thanks.

If they were "saved" on the iPod, then they should show up in iTunes the next time you sync. You can then delete them from there.
If they haven't been saved then go to clear playlist-->clear (music-->playlists-->on-the-go)
Also, are you updating automatically or manually?
If manually, then click the little arrow next to the iPod and select the playlists in that list of iPod playlists and hit delete.

  • How to delete on the go playlist

      Windows XP Pro

If you haven't saved it, you can delete it on the iPod by selecting playlists/on the go/clear playlist.
If you have saved it, then it needs to be done through iTunes.

  • Deleting a ringtone on the music playlist on iphone 3gs

A ringtone has unexplainably appeared on on my phone 3gs playlist. It does not show up on itunes on my macbook. Does anyone know how I can delete it? When I use the shuffle playlist and it hits this "song" it totally locks up my phone...

If you still have the old drive you (or a helpful friend) may be able put it in an external drive bay and extract your iTunes library and other personal data from it. Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

    bostonshazzer,
What model iPod do you have?  This feature is not supported on all models. You are positive you are holding down the Select (Center) button with the song highlighted until it disappears?  Are you sure you are in your On-the-Go playlist and not just a regular one?

  • How do I delete the default playlists such as 90's music from my iPhone 5?

I have tried to slide the default playlists (such as top rated) to show the delete button like you would a normal playlist but that doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to delete them (without using a computer)?

No.  Those playlists do not come default on the iPhone, so you had to sync with a computer which put them on your iPhone (they are default on iTunes on the computers).  The only way to remove them short of erasing your iPhone is to sync with any computer (only the music tab) and uncheck all playlists, so basically do a zero sync for music.  Obviously this will affect the music on your iPhone, so you may have to re-download some or whatever.
Deleting all music from Settings > General > Usages also will not help you.
You will find this same issue for photos synced from a computer.

  • I deleted the duplicated playlists from my MacBook, but how do I delete the duplicated playlists from my iPad?

I already synced and all of that, but the empty playlists return to my iPad even though they are deleted on my MacBook. Is there any way to mass delete these or do I have to spend countless hours deleting them one at a time?

My understanding is it should show up here on my system preferences page. This is a screenshot of what my system preferences looks like. I think it is supposed to be under the "Internet & Network" section?
iCloud should be showing where you are seeing "Mobile Me".
What is your MacOS X version? You can see the version number  from the -menu in the main menu bar:   " > About this Mac".
You need at least MacOS X 10.7.5 to be using iCloud.   http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f1e2a
What exactly did you do to make the iCloud panel vanish? Did you reinstall your system?

  • I deleted all songs from the iPad multiple times.  Each time I reconnect and sync all of these songs sync instead of the chosen playlist. Settings on Summary page are Sync Only Selected Songs and Videos. Music only the playlist is checked.

How to I stop iTunes from reloading what was on the iPad instead of what I have selected?  Summary screen shows "Sync only checked songs and videos"  Music has only the selected playlist.  All songs were deleted from iPad by swiping them to the left and hitting delete (very time consuming).  Sync is set to manual.  However whenever I hit Sync, the old music gets put back on the iPad.  I have had this happen at least 6 times.

Solved it.  "Automatically fill free space with songs" was checked on the Music page.  Worked perfectly once this was unchecked.

What do I do except ***** to Apple, who make it almost impossible to contact them thru the internet? If you can find the way.

I am glad there is someone else as frustrated as I about not only iTunes software but also how to contact Apple with a question.
If either of us can't answer the question, will Apple? Or is that a rhetorical question? This DID NOT HELP ME
