Deleting only album art or leaving it off of iPod?

Is there a way to delete all of your album art or just leave if off of the iPod (preferable) when transfering your music from iTunes. I am trying to maximize space and prioritize music on a very full iPod. Thanks.

Connect your iPod to the computer. Change the settings for music management on the iPod so that album artwork are not shown on iPod (uncheck the box)

  • My iTunes Deletes My Album Art! Please Help!

    I have two quick questions:
    1. Why does iTunes(v6.0.4.2) mysteriously delete the album art i put for some CDs i import a few weeks after i have imported them and place long strings of numbers in the 'comments' column? (this has been driving me crazy!!!) and also...
    2. Is it possible to encode mp3s with iTunes without having to import it directly from a CD?
Any help for either of these would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!

I think it might have something to do with my id3 tags... but most of my mp3s use id3v2.3 which is the latest version if i remember right... someone help... please?

  • Album art is 1 song off after itunes match

Ever since I signed up for iTunes Match, the album art is 1 song off on the TV display. The song info is correct but the album art is from the previous song.  I have rebooted the Apple TV several times to no avail.  The correct album art is shown on the Apple TV menu screen brfore the screen saver kicks in and displays the wrong album art.  Any ideas.

  • When my nano is on shuffle, it won't load the song information like artist, song title, album. Only album art.Is this normal?

My nano 6th generation is just a few days old, and I had to reset it earlier because it refused to play some artists, so the troubleshooting was successful.
However now when I use the shuffle mode, I noticed that it doesn't display the song information such as artist, song name, album, just the album art. When I shake to shuffle, it usually doesn't. This is sporadic: sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Is this an error or is there a way to fix this? But when I shuffle manually, it shows the information. Should I have this fixed?

I had a similar issue and spoke to someone at Apple, who sent me this:
    1. Sign out of iTunes on iPhone.
    2. Put the iPhone in airplane mode
    3. Delete the incorrectly named albums from the iPhone
    4. Edit your album names in your iTunes library to what you want
    5. Move the songs & albums from your iTunes library back to your iPhone
    6. Disconnect
    7. Turn off airplane mode
I've had some slight issues arising from it, but the original problem appears fixed.
    Hope it helps,
    Will

  • Itunes 12 - can't delete podcast album art in new get info dialogue

In iTunes 12, the new "Get Info" dialogue box has an album art. There is a button at the bottom to add new artwork, but I don't see a way to remove artwork (in the case of wrong or duplicate artwork).

    Hey ralf.haring,
Thanks for the question. To remove artwork from a selected item, simply select the artwork in the “Get Info” screen and tap the delete or backspace button. For more information on Artwork in iTunes 12, check out the following resource:

  • Seeing only album art - no volume bar or song titles

One day this week my iPod started to display the album art in full screen format. It no longer displays the artist, title, and volume bar along with the "smaller size" album art. Even if the album art isn't available -- I just get a blank box with no volume bar or song info. Does anyone know how I get back to normal?
(PS - I tried unchecking "display album artwork" in the user preferences, but that only resulted in me getting blank boxes -- still no volume bar or song info)

Try hitting select (the middle button) about five times from the Now Playing screen. If that doesn't work, you'll have to reset, which is no big deal.

  • Album art not transfering from iTunes to iPod

Manually managing my ipod. When copying songs over to the iPod, only about half of the album art that is in my iTunes shows up on the iPod. I deleted all of the music from my 160 and copied it over again to see if it would fix the problem but nothing changed. Some album art comes over, some does not.

Are you auto-syncing the iPod? If so, when you add artwork to songs in your library the songs should be replaced by iTunes on your next sync. If not, you can force a new copy on your iPod by (a) set your iPod to sync only checked items, (b) un-checking the problem items, (c) re-sync your iPod, (d) re-check the problem items, and (e) re-sync again. But this process should not be necessary if you're on auto-sync -- any tag changes should automatically trigger a replacement of the updated song on your iPod.
If you're manually managing your iPod, if you update songs in your library the updates will not automatically transfer to your iPod. To do that, you should delete the songs from your iPod which have been updated with artwork in iTunes, then add the updated copies from iTunes back to your iPod.

  • Album art downloaded by iTunes shows in iPod, not iPod Library in iTunes

I had iTunes add artwork to the songs in iTunes. The art shows up in the "Selected Item" windows when I click on one of the songs in the iTunes Library.
I added those songs to the iPod. When the iPod plays one of those songs, the artwork shows up fine.
When the iPod is connected to the computer and I click on one of the songs in the iPod Library, the art does not display in the "Selected Item" window, even though I know it has album art. This makes it difficult for me to know which albums I need to add artwork for!
If I add artwork manually, the art shows in "Selected Item" whether the song is on the iPod or in the iTunes Library.
Has anyone encountered this? I have "display album art" checked for the iPod.
    Thanks!
    Christian

    Hi,
It's the same with me. It appears that only manually added artwork displays. Songs with downloaded artwork show a blank in iTunes when I play them from the iPod, although on the iPod itself the artwork shows.
This has to do with the fact that downloaded artwork is not embedded in the mp3-files, in contrary to manually added artwork.
What you could try is to embed downloaded artwork yourself (wait for a rainy sunday afternoon though). Use this program to extract downloaded artwork from your iTunes libray: http://sourceforge.net/projects/iaae/

  • Itunes 10.5 not showing album art or syncing it to my ipod touch

I updated iTunes and suddenly it's now showing any of my album art? The artwork is still showing up on my iPod touch 4g, just not on iTunes. Also when I add artwork to an album it isn't syncing to my iPod at all. Just curious if I'm the only one having this problem or if anyone has a solution?

I have the same problem with a Iphone 3g with windows 7 and itunes 10.4

  • Album art in itunes but not on ipod

Just updated to itunes 9.0.2 and when i tryed to sync my ipod itunes stopped responding so I killed it and ejected my ipod through windows. This seems to have damaged the music database because my ipod still had all the files on it but couldn't detect any of them. The next time i pluged my ipod in itunes reset it and copied all my media back onto my it. It now works fine except that no album art has been copied for music or movies. How do I get this working properly?!?!?!?

The next time i pluged my ipod in itunes reset it and copied all my media back onto my it.
    Not sure what that means.
Have you tried restoring the iPod?

  • Wrong album art displaying for songs on my iPod Classic.

I am having a problem with my 160GB classic iPod. (6th gen. I believe, it's the first 160GB iPod to be released.)
It doesn't happen a lot, but I noticed wrong album art displaying for my songs on my iPod. Then when I check in itunes, the album art is correct. Also, I manually manage my music and videos. So when I check the album art from my ipod's hard-drive through itunes, the album art is correct as well.
I believe the problem happens when the iPod itself tries to find the album art images for the current song being played. It somehow gets jumbled and puts up a random album art image instead of the one it is supposed to.
One thing i noticed is this. Lets say I shuffle all my songs. Once I get up to a song with wrong album art, I skip pass it lets say about 5-10 songs, then I go back to it. The album art often corrects itself, and the right album art is displayed.
I looked around the forums here and see that other people are having similar problems with different kinds of iPods. Maybe it's a firmware issue?

I'm having the exact same issue on my iPod Classic. Haven't used this forum before - do experts provide feedback, or do we just hope that another user can suggest a cure? I haven't reformatted my iPod yet - huge pain, as I also manually manage my music - but will do that if no other solutions present themselves.

  • How Do I Delete Photo Albums Synced From Previous Phones Off of IPhone

    Hello,
I've tried googling the answer but I guess my issue is a little too specific.
When I bought my I-phone the lady became impatient with me and instead of moving my photos for me she had me download a transfer app to move over my contacts and photo albums from my Android phone. I thought I woudl want to cherish all of these photos but, surprise surprise, I do not. Not only are these old albums ineditable by any means (including deletion), but they also take up a lot of space and do not pop up when I plug my phone into my computer. Only the photos taken by the I-phone appear and are removable (to my knowledge)
So, how do I get teh little buggers off?
    Thanks in advance!

Photos that you have taken on the phone are in the Camera Roll. The Camera Roll is managed differently. You need to also import photos from the Camera Roll to the computer for safe keeping, but doing as I said about syncing an empty folder will not affect your Camera Roll. If you restore however, it will delete your Camera Roll. You would need to import those photos to the computer for safe keeping, as a restore will delete everything from the device.

  • Album Art is ticking me off!!

Ok...one day I wanted to apply some album photos to a lot of my songs because they didn't have any. So I did the whole thing with the "Get Info" and copy and pasted the pictures and all that. The album photos showed up on my iTunes when I clicked "Get Info", but when I unplugged my iPod and listened to it, the photos weren't showing up! I read a couple of these topics about my problem, and did what was suggested. I checked and unchecked the option for "Display album artwork on your iPod", but when I checked that option after unchecking it, I got an error message!!! It said this..."The iPod 'Ethan's iPod' cannot be updated. An unknown error occured (-50)." SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING!! Thanks!
