Sure.
In "Edit" mode in the Contacts App, for any Contact, just tap on a label, scroll to the bottom where you will see "Add Custom Label"

Transfer custom labels to a new phone

I am trying to move my contacts from a Nokia E50 to a E71. I have made extensive use of edited (custom) labels in the contacts.
Is there a way to transfer labels in contacts from one phone to the other?

I have started to use custom labels. I wish there was something that could carry my custom labels from nokia to google address book and vice versa. MfE and RoadSync failed me.
I really wonder why these softwares can not respect each other
PS: same problem with google sync on iPhone too!! Good god!!

Help with iPad Identifying Phone Numbers in iMessage Send & Receive Settings / iMessage Syncing Help - iOS 6 - iPhone - iPad

With iOS6, iPhone and iPad users will see that their Send & Receive iMessage settings have updated across their devices to be made available at both phone numbers and email addresses. You may have also seen alerts on one or more of your devices advising that another device is now using the same Apple ID/phone number for iMessage.
Being able to be reached on iMessage on both Apple ID and phone numbers across devices means that iMessage can keep the same thread and sync across devices.
Due to having 2 iPhones on different phone numbers running along side my iPad at one time, (whilst I was waiting for my phone number to be moved to a new provider), my iMessage settings on my iPad lost my phone number completely. I thought I would document the steps to recover this for anyone in the same boat.
1. Check that you are signed in with the same iCloud Account on both iPad and iPhone.
2. Turn off iMessage on your iPad from Settings > Messages.
3. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. You should see your phone number and your iCloud email address in the 'Your can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Make sure both are ticked.
4. At this point, I synced my iPhone with iTunes, then synced my iPad with iTunes.
5. On your iPad, turn iMessage back on - your phone number should now show in the 'You can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Tick the phone number. You should receive an alert on your iPhone.
This should resolve the issue.
With the above set up and with the iOS 6 updates, iMessage should now sync fine across devices however I have still found the most successful way to run iMessage is to always start new conversations from your Apple ID and to start new threads by addressing the first message to an Apple ID from an Apple ID.
To do this, go to Settings > iMessage > Send & Receive and tick your Apple ID in the 'Start new conversations from:' list, then start a new iMessage thread to the recipients Apple ID. This way, the thread will sync across iPad and iPhone. Note that a thread set up this way will not fall back on SMS, so you get a clean iMessage thread. This method also worked/works on iOS 5, as long as you send the first message of a new thread from an iPad (which can only send via Apple ID) to an Apple ID.

ipad has no phone number, you use a same email address for both devices. and set it in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive

Is there a way to use hyperlinks for phone numbers in keynote?

Hey all,
does anyone know if it is possibile to export phone numbers as hyperlinks in keynote (export format: pdf), so that my phone directly dials the number if I open the pdf and click on it. In other programs I can use "tel:+countrycodeandphonenumber" instead of the url in the hyperlink setup, but unfortunately that does not seem to work with keynote.

Keynote provides for hyperlinks to slides in the currently used presentation, other Keynote files, web pages and to launch a pre-addressed email message. All other hyperlinks are prevented. Not sure why you would want to use a slide presentation application for such a task during a slide show.

Cannot delete entries from custom Infostructure using OLIX

Hi,
I have created a custom info structure S970 for MRP. The data is being populated to this info structure using an ABAP program which reads from an excel file input by the user. Insert / Modify are used to write from itab to S970 in the program. The data is being read in file and written to S970 correctly. Version is specified by the user using a parameter like S970-VRSIO.
However, when I try to delete these entries using transaction OLIX, it does not show version or delete data. E.g., version is 002. In F4 help for field source version in OLIX, it is not showing version 002, only 000 - Actual data and A00, active version. If I input 002 manually and try to delete it gives me a message saying that deletion is successful. However, when viewing in SE11/SE16, S970 still shows all entries with version 002. Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'd like to print mailing labels for holiday cards and my wife created the list in a Numbers spreadsheet.
Is there any way to export to Pages or some other label printing application?

Righty-ho. This is based on a spreadsheet like this with named columns in Numbers 3.5. (The rows must be consecutive - the script moves on as soon as it sees an empty row):
With the spreadsheet open, run the following AppleScript. It will create a group called Christmas List in Contacts, and then import the name and address data from the spreadsheet, adding each person to the group:

Contacts will look like this:
With the Christmas List group selected in Contacts, go to the Print menu and choose the label format you want:
Once the labels are printed, select all the names in the Christmas List Group and press the delete key:
Click the middle "Delete" button and the contacts will be gone.You can then delete the Christmas List group itself.
This can also be done in Numbers 09, but the script would have to be modified slightly.

Using imessage: 2 phone numbers in 1 iPhone

I'm trying to receive messages from 2 iphones in only 1 of them and it seems to work (I used an apple ID associated with a phone number). Now what isn't clear is how does it work? So these are the settings I have:
in the send and receive option it looks like this:
You can be reached by iMessage at:
tick - 99999999 (grey)
tick - 11111111
tick - [email protected]
Start new conversations from:
no tick - 11111111
tick - 9999999
no tick - email
So,
1. does this means that I receive messages from both numbers?
2. When starting a new conversation it will be sent from 9999999?
3. when receiving messages it will always be sent as a reply to the number is was originally sent to?

Perhaps you should investigate Call Forwarding... But it is probably not what you desire...

Remove custom label in maveriks contacts

I did some custom labels on iPhone. And now I cannot delete them, not on iphone (ios 7), not on macbook (mavericks)
and even iCloud web interface could not help me.

I was trying to "delete" a misspelled custom label, and couldn't figure out how. No help on the web or here. I succeeded by going to the custom labeled item, creating another custom label, and the misspellt (really) one disappeared from the list!! HTH...

Order of custom labels on Address Book

When I edit custom labels on telephone field, in a new Card, and save it, the order of custom labels changes everytime I entry in Address Book's Card, apparently in random order.
Can someone help me?

same problem here. I even trashed my cache and prefs for Address Book, re-opened the application and set up the custom template from scratch. Alas, the order of fields seems completely random once a filled-out card is displayed. Trashing the prefs seemed to help from the standpoint that I can now go in and (very tediously) cut/paste info from the fields (and change the labels accordingly) and it seems to stay in that order once saved. Annoying problem…
Update: Well, it seems that the order is not retained once closing and re-opening the Address Book application. Each time it re-opens, the fields are in a random order. The order of the fields in MobileMe seem slightly more stable, but not completely. Very strange.

My android 2.3 upgrade deleted phone numbers and won't let me edit some of my contacts now.

My Android 2.3 upgrade deleted contacts, deleted some random phone numbers, gave me text and email options for people when it eliminated needed phone numbers. It now has contact from Facebook and yahoo... and I can't seem to edit these and add in the phone numbers it deleted. I need help!!! I am soo frustrated with this new upgrade, I have barely used my phone for days now!! How do I fix this?

LadyLaRee, I can understand how losing contacts can be frustrating! First, which Android do you have? If you have numbers from Facebook, those cannot be edited because the information is coming from the user's Facebook profile. Also, your contacts from Yahoo may only have the email address which is why it is showing that way. They would need to update the number on their profile. The settings will vary by phone, but if you open your contacts, press the Menu button, you will normally have options for View or something similar. You can select which contact groups you want to show or not. Verify which options are checked. You can deselect Facebook or Yahoo if you choose. You will also have an option to only display contacts with phone numbers.

Problem Adding Custom Labels to Address Book

I add custom labels to the Template in Address Book Preferences. There's no problem at this stage, the custom labels appear along with the preset labels in the Template. But when I leave Preferences, go back to Address Book and add a new card, the custom labels disappear.
What am I doing wrong?

Would you check this work-around for me? I think I found a way to compose a master list of custom labels and have them available for multiple cards (new and old) in Address Book on a MacBookPro and in the Contacts directory on an iPhone. I have tried compiling a master list of custom labels using Address Book Preferences/Template and I find there's a limit to the number of custom labels I can add as a label for each field.
Here's my workaround.
1) Go to the iPhone Contacts directory.
2) Add a new card.
2) Enter data in these fields: address, date, email, and phone. The standard label will appear on the screen below the data.
3) Tap the standard label and you will go to a screen with 2 windows. The top window has the standard or preset labels for that field but below it in a second window is a button "Add Custom Label". Tap on this button and you will be able to add the text for a Custom Label for each of these fields. This will then become a master list of Custom Labels that can be used in most labels in the iPhone Contacts Directory.
4) If you have your IPhone set up to synch with your MacBookPro or iMac, the entry in the iPhone Contacts directory will be transferred to your other Mac, with the Custom Labels.
Barney - 15E: Can you find a glitch??? To me it seems to make a master list of custom labels available for all card, new and old. The only problem is that the input has to be done on the iPhone.

Sort of depend on what you are trying to do precisely. In Edit mode, if you tap on any label, you will be given a list of options, plus an Add Custom Label option near the bottom of the list
