Deleting parts of strokes on overlapping layers

Hello
I have created some complicated lineart on layer 1, then some more complicated lineart on layer 2.
I then want to merge the two layers.
I need to delete the parts of the lineart on layer 1 which are overlapped by lineart on layer 2.
I dont know how to do this, other than going through deleting each anchor point/path individually. This takes for ever, and there must be a correct way to do this.
I would be very grateful if someone could show me how to do this.

Thanks for your response Jacob.I have attached an image (which hopefully you can open!). The horizontal lines of lace going across the toy soldier uniform are on one layer. The loop of lace on the soldier's right chest is on another layer. Those two layers will be merged into one layer, and then merged with the layer of the soldiers outline. I dont know how to efficiently delete the bits of the horizontal lace which are under the loop of lace.

If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:

To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

I have to reboot my iPhone 5 to get the trash can to appear when I am trying to delete a part of a message conversation. Is there another way to delete part of a conversation? Using IOS 8.2.

If you do Get Info for the song - then (in Options tab, I think) amend the Start Time of the track so it's the point where the music starts. iTunes will permanently 'remember' your change.

click and hold on the bubble, you will now see "copy/more" select 'more'
you can now choose which bubbles to delete by selecting a check mark next to them and then hit trash can

hold your finger on the part of the message you want to delete. This will give you the copy and more option. Choose more, and then you will be able to choose the message or messages you want to delete. Once selected you will be able to tap the trash can icon on the bottom of your screen.

Thanks for your reply. I normally do exactly as you say. But for some reason the trash can fails to pop up after I check it and I can't use this method until I shut my phone off and reboot. Normally when looking at messages you see a camera, then iMesage block, then a microphone on the right bottom of the screen. When you hold down on a text bubble, click "More" then this bottom portion is replaced with a trashcan. This is not happening until I reboot and I don't know what is causing it. Hmm - bug?

Hold down the part of the message you want to delete. When you do that "copy/more" options will pop up. Click "more" and put a check mark next to the texts that you want to delete then click on the trash can in the lower left hand corner.

Deleted part of library HELP!

I accidentally deleted part of my library. not sure what i was doing but I still have the files in my documents. How do i get my music back on itunes?

If you know where the files are, this is an easy fix.
Open iTunes, and if you have all your music in one folder, you can choose "File -> Add Folder to Library..." in the menu.
If all of your music is in seperate places, you'll have to seperately add inividual files using "File -> Add File to Library..." Add File to Library will only add up to four files at a time (shift-click to select multiple files).

CreatePDF would enable you to combine two files however you might not be able to delete from the existing file. You need to make modification(delete) in the source file.
Or you can purchase the full Acrobat or subscription for Acrobat to perform the desired task with PDFs.(Please visit the link)

Deleting part of message

I find I am unable to delete parts of an email (sent to me) that I want to forward (like other people's addresses, etc). When I highlight want I want to delete and hit the delete button, the entire message goes to the trash.
Any suggestions?

Try restarting your iPhone by holding the sleep button and then sliding to power the iPhone off, then pressing it again to wake it back up.
Also, make sure your aren't double tapping the space bar with the period shortcut enabled in Settings > General > Keyboard.

Accidentally deleted Part of Java

I accidentally deleted part of Java and when I downloaded Java 6 Update 12 it says "This software has already been installed on your computer. Would you like to re-install?" Yes No. When I click on Yes, it says "This action is only valid for products currently installed." OK. When I click on okay, nothing happens. I realized after the fact, that Java is critical for use with many other software programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Restoring a phone from a backup will put the device back to the state it was when the backup took place, i.e. all info that you had on that phone before using the backup will be gone.
You could try to restore the phone, which will back up the actual data on the phone, including the passcode, and use this backup to set up a new phone with. The passcode will still be the same, because it is part of the backup.

Not being able to fill in the passcode is not much different from forgetting it.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

Address book deletes parts or sections of individual cards

My address book has deleted parts of some of my addresses; i.e. deletes home address. When I go back in time machine I find the original card as it used to be beginning of September. If I restore the card it imports the card into my address book exactly as it appears now without the home address information. Has anybody experienced the same problem?

are your contacts missing info on your other devices? or just on this computer?
check that first.
next you should reset your mobileme sync data.
