Deleting path segment

I recently upgraded from CS3 to CS5. I'm trying to do something I routinely did in CS3; when I wish to delete a vector path line segment, I add an anchor point anywhere along the segment and hit "delete". This deletes only the line segment and leaves an open path (this is a work-around, since PSD does not have a "cut" tool, like AI).
This process is not working in CS5. It seems to work on a simple rectangle, but on more complex, multi-line paths, deleting a point deletes the entire path. I opened the same file in CS3 and the process works as expected. Has anyone else run into this? Or do you have another work-around for deleting one line segment from a path?
Thanks,
Ray

While I'm on my rant, I'd sure like to see the "hold spacebar to move anchor point" feature added to PSD. It's a great time-saver in AI and should be in PSD.
Oh, then please let me rant back: Illustrator’s Path closing behaviour is in my eyes remarkably inadequate and the Illustrator team should adopt Photoshop’s way of respecting an existing bezier handle when closing or picking up a Path.
Edit: Experienced users should in my opinion be considered as potentially capable of having acquired an intuitive grasp of what a bezier handle indicates and therefore able to create the first (curve-)point’s handles the way they want them (naturally later corrections may still be necessary).
Illustrator removing the backward handle on closing a Path seems therefore somewhat peculiar to me – does whoever decided on that behaviour consider Illustrator users incapable of that much foresight?
Why would you want to use the space-bar which is assigned to moving the canvas?
With the Pen Tool selected command-clicking a point to move it works just fine – but maybe I misunderstand your issue.
Could you post an image with Paths that don’t work properly?

  • Delete a segment in the IDOC_DATA.

    Hi,
    i'm sending an outbound 856(IDOC type DELVRY03).
    In this,
    if the E1EDL26 - PSTYV = ZPAR,
I need to delete the entire information related to that particular line item meaning.. all child segments under the segment E1EDL24.. (because I don't want the material with this item category to go to the customer.)
but I'm confused on how to do it as.. by the time I read the E1EDL26 - PSTYV, i would already have the E1EDL24 segment in my IDOC_DATA. So I need to go back and delete it..
Can someone help me with this.

    Hi Ravindra,
Define one global variable for flag. When your condition get satisfied set this flag = X.
Then in your user-exit in for segname = E1EDL20 delete other segments when flag = X.
    case sgname.
    when E1EDL20
    if flag = X.
loop idoc_data and delete the segments which you would like to delete.
    endcase.

  • Reg: Deleting a segment of an IDoc

    Hi Experts,
We have created an extension to IDoc (added a Z segment) in 4.7 ERP and transported to the ECC 6.0.
I want to delete the segment in ECC 6.0, which we extended in 4.7.
I believe one way is to delete the segment in 4.7 and export the transport from 4.7 and import into ECC 6.0
Please let me know the ways to delete the segment from the IDoc in ECC 6.0.

    Hi Karthik,
Thanks for the replay. I want to delete the IDoc extension (a z segment added to the basic type by using we30) in SAP ECC.
There is a option of delete in we30. Can i use the same tcode to delete the extn of IDoc? or any other ways are there to delete the ZSEGMENT added to the basic type?

  • Path Segment Reshaping feature's unpleasant side effect

So an apparent side effect of the new Path Segment Reshaping feature is that the direct selection tool now only selects a portion of the path you click on. This is very annoying! It makes it look like your path is non-contiguous. Is there any way to disable Path Segment Reshaping?

It seems to only happen with curved paths that:
    are not a complete circuit
have four or more anchor points
I think this is a bug, though, because if your path is a closed circuit, it doesn't happen, and the path segment reshaping feature continues to work regardless.

  • Delete idoc segments

    Hi all,
I need to delete the idoc segments for some condition based on the table KNVV value. It is basic type is DEBMAS05.
I have used a wrapper FM ZIDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR as i could not find a user exit in IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR.
In test run we19, in debuggin i see the incorrect records/segments are getting deleted from IDOC_DATA which is the way i have coded. However when i see the generated idoc number i can see all the segments and the incorrect segments are not getting deleted. Let me know how to delete idoc segments through code.
Note : I have tried in BD59 to reduce the idoc segment, but the condition for our requirnment cannot be possible in BD59.

  • Deleted audio segment leaves blank space that I can't remove

I had a 5 min song and after adding pictures for a slide show, I found I only needed 2:30 of the audio clip so I split it at the end and deleted the unwanted end segment of the song. However, there is now a blank space for 2:30 left!
I went to clip mode like some suggested in previous similar questions, but there is "no black clip" to select and delete.
How can I "shrink" or reduce the original movie length now that I've shortened it by removing the end part of the audio?
    Thanks!

I have experienced the same thing. It used to be thought that a stray audio clip had relocated to further out on the audio track, but I never found one. Usually, the movie reverted back to end where the 'good' audio or video clip ended.
However, I highly endorse what Bengt recommended re: exporting your movie to Full Quality QuickTime.
I do that and then put the quicktime movie into a new iMovie project and check the end of it. Sometimes there will be several seconds of 'snow' as seen on tv in the old days when stations went off the air at 1am. You can cut out this excess and have your movie end where it is supposed to. Just use this qt version to upload or import into iDVD.

  • IDOC - Delete unwanted segments and reprocess the IDOC by WE19

    HI all,
I have an issue and wanted your help at this point of time.
Case - Assume that an Idoc has been rejected by system due to few bad segments. Later i dentfied that in the Idoc few segments were bad and rest are good.
If i use transaction WE19 for copying the Idoc and during selection of the segment if i delete the bad segments and copy the rest which are good. Will the Idoc be processed sucessfully with a new Idoc number so that the Bad segments i will fix it up manually in ERP. Kindly suggest. If possible let me know if any implication behind that or anything you like to add in the process to help me out.
    Kindly advice me.

    Hi Pratap,
Which Idoc did you process. For each message type certain segments are Mandatory.
for example in WPUBON01 -->following segments are mandatory
Control Record --- Message type / Partner Type / Port / Server ID etc.....
    E1WPB01        --- Date / Time / Partner Number etc...
E1WPB02        --- Article type / Article Number / Quantity etc...
    E1WPB03        --- Condition Type / Amount etc...
E1WPB06        --- Payment method / Total Amount / card number etc...
In control record we will have the  port / System ID etc.
If other segments are not there leave it....it will process successfully.....
To find out error segment refer  Table  EDID4 and correct the segment and post it.

  • Trimming - I want to delete various segments, keeping the remainder

QT 7 Pro Trimming problem -- I have a long movie clip, of which I want to keep various short bits. It is possible to simply delete segments that I don't want so I am left with only the bits that I DO want?  This interface allows me to only select what I want to keep, and in doing so deletes the rest -- of which is footage I want to keep in addition to my initial selection.  QT 7 on my older iMac (OS 10.4.8) can do this - you select a segment by moving two little knobs to the start point and end point of the segment.  Deleting it still leaves me with the rest of the movie. I keep deleting segments I don't want, and end up with only that that I do want.  Is this not possible anymore on QT 7 Pro my newer MBPro?

QuickTime Player Pro has worked the same on any machine or OS for the last (nearly) seven years. That's how long version 7 has been available. What you did in Tiger still works the same in Lion.
The "two little knobs" are known as in and out markers and when you set them, either with the keyboard shortcuts i and o keys, drag while holding the shift key or drag each of the markers you've made a "selection".
A selction can be something you want to keep or something you want to remove. If you're trying to remove (trim) you would make selections of what you wanted to delete which would leave you with only what you wanted to keep.
If you are running Snow Leopard or Lion be aware that it includes QuickTime X or 10.1 and it also has a trim feature. It doesn't edit the same way as QuickTime Player 7 Pro and its version of trimming would require you to save the file each time you made an edit.
Make sure you're using QuickTime Player 7 Pro and not QuickTime Player 10 or 10.1.

  • Deleting "old" Segments, running out of disk space

    Hi -
I have FMS server setup for HTTP live streaming.  It is fed from Adobe Live Encoder via webcam.  Everything is running well, except I am retaining all the Segment's .f4f / .f4x files since it began encoding, and after a few days this causes our sever to run out of disk space.  Where do I configure FMS server to only hold onto the last few segments?
I.E., i am encoding 24/7 and have in my streams/_definst_/streamname folder
    Seg1.f4x
    Seg1.f4m
    Seg2.f4x
    Seg2.f4m
    Seg2048.f4m
    Seg2048.f4x
And I want to only hang onto the 5 or so most recent segments.
    Thanks

As Ed pointed out, f4fpackager don't support sliding window DVR mode as of now. I am expecting Adobe to release next f4fpackager with that support.
    Bryan,
After your script deleted the old files, have you faced any issue in osmf player seek?
As I understand, f4x files contain afra indeces for all the fragments (starting from time 0 to now). If you forcefully deleted the f4f files for first few fragments, won't osmf player gives out an error when user try to seek to first time instance?

  • Deleting a segment in an IDOC - XI - IDOC Scenario

    Hi
I am relatively new to XI. I would appreciate any help on the following issue.
I have a requirement to send Material Master information from one R/3 system to multiple R/3 systems via XI. These IDOCs have multiple segments for the Description segment (E1MAKTM). Some of these systems are unicode enabled and some are not. This means the IDOCs sent to all the non unicode systems should not have some of the description (E1MAKTM) segments in it. To achieve this I need to read the Language key in E1MAKTM and then decide whether to keep the segment or not, but I am not sure about where to do this.
Should I be creating a scenario for this using BPM or is there a way of doing this using the Mapping interfaces? I would appreciate if any one could please give me some input on this or point me to a right documentation which could help me.
    Thanks & Regards
    Praveen

    Hi,
Thank you for the quick reply..
Michal, The segment needs to be removed in case of some languages. If I leave MAKTX field as blank I will still have a segment.
Bhavesh, I tried this and I couldn't get it to work for some reason, This is what I did.
    1. Auto mapping for MATMAS between the source and the target.
    2. Removed the mapping for the segment E1MAKTM.
    3. Used the standard functions with logic as follows
IF SPRAS = Constant with value EN
        Assign E1MAKTM to the target.
    4. Tested this mapping using the option in Repository by creating 2 segments for E1MAKTM, one with SPRAS as EN and the other with SPRAS as ES. The target should have only one segment once it goes through the above mentioned logic, but for some reason it is having both of them.
I would appreciate if you could give me some suggestion on this situation.
    Thanks & Regards
    Praveen

  • ORDRSP Idoc addition and deletion of segment schedule lines

    Hello
I have requirement in the Iodc ORDRSP it has segment E1EDP01 and it has sub segments
    E1EDP02
    E1EDP03
      E1EDP05
    E1EDP20
    E1EDP20
And it has multiple E1EDP20 with the different quantity
Now I if there are more than one E1EDP20 segments and  should display in different segments .
I have found the customer exit  EXIT_SAPLVEDC_003 where I will get the idoc data “DINT_EDIDD”.
    Example :
    Now :
After change I want to be

    Hi,
Yes you can replicate the segment "E1EDP01" along with its sub-segments.
as mentioned, if your requirement is met by having multiple "E1EDP20" segments,
    then in exit table:   “DINT_EDIDD”,
replicate all the SEGNAM with incrementing SEGNUM and maintaining only one "E1EDP20" for each "E1EDP01".
(please relate SEGNAM to PSGNUM & SEGNUM(incremented) ).
this will do!!!.......let me know if anything.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Deleting Audio Segments in FCE

I am looking to delete a few ahhhhhs and ummmmmmms in a recent FCE project.
This is pretty easy to do in something like Audacity where you just highlight part of the waveform you want removed and delete it.
How do I do this in FCE? It seems like basic audio editing but perhaps I am missing something.
    Thanks!
    Doug

    Hi Doug,
    No problem. Here goes:
*1. Open the audio clip into the viewer by double-clicking it from the timeline.*
*2. Zoom in until you can comfortably see the first portion of the audio waveform that you would like to delete.*
*3. You will notice the pink line across the waveform. This shows the level of the audio as time goes on. What we want to do here is to reduce the level to zero for the short period you want to remove, then bring it back up to full afterward. And to make this short adjustment, we need to keyframe the audio line.*
*4. To keyframe the line, click P to select the Pen tool.*
*5. With the Pen tool selected, click once on the pink line over the part where you would like the audio fade-out to begin.*
*6. Now, click once on the pink line where you would like the fade-out to end (the beginning of the "ahh" or "umm") and drag the line down to the bottom.*
*7. Now do this in reverse order for the end of the part you want to remove. Click once to make a keyframe at the end of the "ahh"*
*8. Click once more a tiny bit to the right, and drag upward so that the keyframe returns the pink line to its normal level.*
The final result in the viewer should look something like this:
If any part of the process was unclear, feel free to ask any follow-ups.
    Hope this helped,
    Sasha
