Deleting photos; 2gb iPod, itunes 7

I am using the 1.2 version of iTunes 7.
I have tried going to edit, properties, and the iPod tab to delete photos, but the iPod tab is not there because I have a Photo tab set on my main screen already.
When I click the summary tab, there is a bar that is divided into three sections. From left to right, they are colored blue, orange, white. Blue is audio, orange is other, white is unused space. It says I have used 494.8 mb of audio space, and 748.9 mb of "other" space. I am assuming "other" means photos and whatnot, but the problem is, I don't see how more than 50% of my space could be used up on my photos when I only have 2 pictures in my album art. Sorry this is long.
To sum this all up, how am I supposed to delete photos or know what is taking up all my space?!

k well I really appreciate your help but literally a minute before you replied I ruined my entire life and restored my iPod. I saved my library but I guess that got deleted too, so now I have nothing and I give up on everything ever and never want to use my ipod again :/

How do I delete photos from iPod Touch?  Some photos do not have the trash basket option!
When I first synced my iPod Touch with my laptop, it uploaded a lot of photos onto the iPod.  I now wish to delete those but it does not seem as a straight forward option!

For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

  • When I import photos taken from my Ipod Touch 4 to My Mac Desktop, I click delete photos on ipod, but they do not delete. Is the only way to delete them individually (I have 1,400 photos!) or is there a way to delete them all in one go?

I realise you can you can delete them on your ipod slowly as you have to click on each one, and you can restore your ipod, but surely there is a way to get around this?
    Software: 4.3.2

Thanks If anyone can help me.

Download/install an app is a know possible solution.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.
Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

  • Is there any way whatsoever to delete photos synced from iTunes?

This is something that constently frustrates me and I've never found a solution for it. I can delete music, videos, apps, etc etc etc from the phone to reclaim storage space, but is there no way in **** to delete photos synced through iTunes? It's bothered me before in the past, so I stopped syncing albums to my phone, but recently I had synced my albums of photos from my wedding to my iPhone so that I could show some family and didn't realize how much space it was going to take up. The entire weekend I could not remove them to download apps, music, videos or anything.
Is there any way at all to remove them? Via iFunbox,  or some sort of "reset" option in Settings, or any other means?

What you ask is pretty basic. Uncheck the Sync Photos from option in iTunes and click Apply
Assuming your device is not modified/hacked/jailbroken in any way/shape/form

  • Delete photos from iPod Touch 4G

I can no longer sync my iPod Touch 4G (iOS 6) with iTunes (insufficient space).  When I bought my MacBook Pro last year, they set it up to sync my photos (I literally have over 12,000 photos) which all got transferred to my iPod.  I want to delete them but can't seem to find any delete options or how to stop iPhoto from automatically transferring all of my photos after uploading.  I now have iTunes 11 and it doesn't even show photos in the sidebar anymore so I can't seem to delete them that way. Anyone know how I can remove these photos from my iPod and/or stop iPhoto from always syncing them to the iPod??

There are also thrid-party programs that should work. PhoneView and TouchCopy are two. They are paid programs.

  • Delete photos from iPod Touch

Need some help with this PLEASE!?
I added some photos on my ipod touch by iTunes, & now I want to delete them but I don't know how. I tried to delete them on my ipod but I couldn't because they are in a new album & they also exist in another album on my ipod. The album names are: Photos & 2011, & when I tried to delete them on my ipod I couldn't there were no delete button.......What do I do???
    Because I need MAJOR help!

On the iPod you can only delete photos taken by or saved to the iPod.  Those are the photos in the Camera Roll.  For photos synced to the iPod you have to unsync them.

Are you sure there was no delete button. Is there a section under the photos when the album is open which looks like a box and an arrow coming out? If so click on it and then it is possible to delete the photos. Subsequently just go on itunes and when the ipod is connected go into photos, and simply choose the folders.

  • How to delete photos from ipod touch

My hard drive crashed and had a new hard drive installed. Used Time Machine and restored my data. When I connected my iPod iPhoto improrted all my photos. Now I have over 10,000 pictures on my iPod. How do I delete these off my iPod and keep the ones I want to remain on my iPod???

Delete the images you want to delete on the folder you used to sync. Then sync your iPod and the pictures you deleted would be deleted on your iPod touch.
The delete button only appears to photo you got off the net , Bluetooth photo transfer and screenshot. Any photo you sync using iTunes will not have the delete button. Hope this week

How do you delete photos from my ipod?

    Hi Golf43,
You are in the wrong discussion forum. Go here and choose the correct category for Windows and your iPod model.

I can tell you that on the Mac, you would take out the images on the folder of images you are syncing to, then sync the iPod to that folder again.
So, if you didn't want any photos on your iPod, take out all the images from the folder on your HD that you are syncing to. I am not sure, but there might even be a checkbox in iTunes/iPod prefs to uncheck for photo sync.

Why did Apple program it to function this way?! I synced photos from my computer to my iPod. I threw away my old computer when I bought a Macbook Pro. iTunes will "Synchronize" not just "copy" photos to your iPod: When deleting a certain folder from your PC it will be removed from your iPod, too - sorry.

  • Cannot delete photos from iPod nano 3G

My brother, a windozer, has last week bought a iPod Nano. He was playing around a bit and loaded, he don't remember how, some photos on the Nano.
He is now desperately trying to remove these photos from his nano. I suggested him to define one folder with just one photo in it, sync with that one in iTunes, with the hope that the Nano will get this only photo and delete all others. Unfortunately this does not work.
    Any hints?

Has he tried Restoring the iPod in iTunes ???

  • How to delete photos from iPod after making screen shot?

    Hello!
I just figured-out how to take screen shots with the ipod... And was playing with it for a while! heh heh
Now I have a bunch of screen shots saved to my ipod, is there a way to delete them with out connecting to iTunes?
    Any tips are appreciated.

On a Mac, iPhoto launches automatically if there are Saved Photos. In Windows XP, there's a "new device" dialog where you can select the Scanner & Camera Wizard (no view files option in XP, unlike Vista), or you can go to My Computer and you'll see an Apple® iPod device (the only thing accessible will be the Saved Photos).
I think we've covered all the OSs now.
    Hope this helps...

  • Deleting Photo's in iTunes

When I plug in my iPod, i cannot see the photo's tab in iTunes and so I cannot delete my photo's from my iPod.

Unless someone else has an idea, sounds like it might be time to first try Restoring the iPod and see if that puts the tab back.
