Deleting photos in stacks that are in facebook albums

If I delete a photo A from a project, it sometimes says 'this photo is in an album... are you sure' or similar.
This happens is A is in the same stack as B, when B is an album pick in a facebook album.
A is not published to facebook, it's just in the same stack as one that is.
This is annoying and frightening when I want to delete a bunch of photos. Any way to fix it?

You could just select the checkbox *Do not show this message again* in the popup.

  • Deleting photos from iPhoto that were in an album

A friend of mine looks to me for help with her Macbook. She spent a lot of time creating a folder of pictures she wants to save on a CD then delete from iPhoto. She was frustrated when I explained that the only way to really delete a photo is from 'events' or 'photos'. She will have to go through her whole library and find the pictures again and delete them individually. Is there any way for her to find all the photos that she has in the album and delete them together?
She is on a Macbook with Leopard.
    Thanks

Select them in the album and depress the command and options key and type delete - then empty the iPhoto trash - iPhoto menu ==> empty trash

How do i delete all my photos in wallpaper that are in my camera roll

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

  • I understand that many versions of any pictures are still on my computer (Masters???).  If I have a final I like, how do I delete all the others that are taking up space?

I understand that many versions of any pictures are still on my computer (Masters???).  If I have a final I like, how do I delete all the others that are taking up space?  I have already put the originals into albums, edited them, and renamed them.  Can I/should I delete all other versions located in Masters, I think?  If I want to keep events, but want them to include the newly edited albums, can I delete the specific event and somehow bring the photos used in the album into a new event.  Understand iPhoto just keeps space or manages photos, so how can I have events that include the edited pix and clean up disk space.  Thanks.
    iPhoto 11 v9.4.2
using Lion, updated, on iMac Pro.

It's very simple. If you want to use iPhoto, just let it manage things as it does. Other than that: Export from iPhoto and delete the image from iPhoto. That will remove the master and all versions.
If space is an issue... use an external disk.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

  • How do you delete songs on iTune that are NOT on the library?

I got a new computer few days ago, and I downloaded iTune on my new computer today.
I want to delete all my songs that are in my iPod Touch now, and want to buy other songs.
I don't have any songs in my library at the moment, since there's no song in my new computer now.
So I want to delete songs, but since I don't have any of those songs in the library, I can't delete them. (I can't delete them since they are not on the library.)
Are there any ways I can delete songs that are NOT on the library?

You don't want to keep the songs that are on your iPod touch, in your library?
You can keep them in your library and not put them on the touch.
Then you can purchase other songs and put those on the touch.

  • HT203180 How can I delete old rental movies that are still on my iPad, but no longer viewable?

How can I delete old rental movies that are still on my iPad, but are no longer viewable because the rental has expired?

I have a similar problem.  The default answer on the web is to open Videos on your iPad, then touch and hold the movie you wish to delete, then tap the little cross that appears. Alternatively, you can connect to iTunes, select your device in the list, scroll down to the Rentals summary and delete from there.
I have a problem with both of these solutions!  The Video App on my iPad does not contain any video icons, just an option to browse my shared library, so I can't delete it from there... ANd in iTunes, the movie in the Rntals tab on my device summary is greyed out, so I can't do anything from there either.  But the movie is taking up 2.5 Gb....
Can someone please offer an alternative to resetting the device entirely?!

  • I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're imported from PC  how do I do this to free space on ipad

I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're ported from PC. Already deleted from PC but still showing up on iPad following sync

Tap and hold your finger on the X
You should get a message in some cases that it will delete your stored app data - say OK if you want to proceed
The wiggle mode should stop with a press of the home button - not a hard reset
Reset your phone and see if the behavior changes - there is no data loss - Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from a computer?

How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from another computer or SD card?

If they were synced from a computer then you can't delete them directly in the Photos app on your iPad, you will have to connect your iPad to your computer and use the iPad's Photos tab in your computer's iTunes to change your photo sync selection to exclude them
If the photos were copied onto the iPad from an SD card via the camera connection kit then you should be able to delete them in the Photos app e.g. via the Select button top right if viewing the photos in thumbnail view in Photos.

  • All my photos on my phone are in 1 album. Is there a way to create new albums and move some pictures to them?

All my photos on my phone are in one album. Is there a way to create new albums and move some of them?

With photos transferred from your computer, you create the albums or folders on your computer.
If you manually manage photo storage on your computer, create a parent folder that will store the named folders of photos you want transferred to your iPhone. Place the named folders of photos in this parent folder and select the parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. The folders of photos inside of the parent folder on your computer's hard drive will be transferred to your iPhone as separate albums. To add an additional album of photos to your iPhone, place the folder of photos in the parent folder followed by a sync. To remove an album of photos from your iPhone, move the folder of photos outside of the parent folder followed by a sync.

  • HT1751 how do i move songs that are in separate albums into the same album?

how do i move songs that are in separate albums into the same album?

Of course it should, but if it doesn't do you want fix it or leave it broken? iTunes draws on the CDDB database for track details. That database is incomplete, contains errors, and isn't explicitly designed to be "iTunes friendly". If you download an album from the iTunes store then the tracks should normally be grouped together, although there are ways of sorting the Songs view that will always break things up. If you purchase from Amazon, elsewhere, or rip your CDs then you may sometimes need to make a minor update to the tags to tidy things up. Which workaroud is needed depends on context, but the most common one of setting an Album Artist takes a few seconds.

  • Find photos in Library that are not in an Album

My mum has made the classic mistake of deleting her images from Albums rather than the Library when using iPhoto.
Anyone know how to find all photos in the Library but not included in albums?
I found a script for iTunes to do a similar thing with tracks not in playlists but can;t find one for photos in iPhoto.
    Or, is there another solution?

Create a Smart Album with the criteria "Album" is "None". That will give you all photos not in an album. You can move those photos to a regular album and then delete from there by using CommandOptionDelete. That moves them to the iPhoto Trash bin where you'll have to empty the trash.
iPhoto is known to lock up if you try to delete a large number of photos at a time. So just select about 100 at a time to move to the trash and empty.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • How do if recover deleted photos from ipad that were not backed up/synced? Had just downloaded and seconds later accidentally selected delete all.

Deleted photos that I just downloaded (minutes prior) and they were not synced to icloud. Any way to recover?

Since you have no backups, I suggest you use some recovery tool to recover deleted photos from iPhone/iPad. You can google it, there are many available.

  • IPhoto froze deleting photos off camera, files are empty

    Hello,
I came home from New York and imported all my photos. When it was done I told it to delete the originals - the card was nearly full. I got a spinning beach ball and the program froze. Thinking it'd be much faster to simply format the card from the camera, I force-quit iPhoto and formatted the camera.
The next day, after taking a bunch more pictures at the 4th of July Fireworks, I tried to open my photos in iPhoto, and found that approximately half my photos were present. Further investigation inside the "Library" package revealed that they were there, but all files, save for 14, were listed as "Zero KB".
I suppose I was stupid for having such a lack of patience and I should have let it finish, but is there anything I can do to get my photos back? I've already grieved for them (the good ones were the Empire State Building and the Cloisters, which I'll miss dearly).
Any ideas or help are absolutely welcome. Thanks!

Some people have found the photos in the import (or importing) folder in the iPhoto library - go to your pictures folder and right click (control click) on the iPhoto library and choose show package contents from the menu that appears. Look (do not touch - if you change anything inside the iPhoto library you risk corrupting the library and losing more data) and see if there is a folder named import or importing - is there is drag it to the desktop and look inside - if your photos are there you can import them otherwise something like media recovery is your only chance
In the future it would be good to use a USB card reader to import your photos and after they are imported and checked then format your card in your camera. This eliminates problems like you had and insures that the card is correctly formatted.
