Deleting photos on iPhone 5 that were imported from another phone?

Hi, I just have a question regarding the deletion of photos from my new iPhone 5. The photos in question are not photos that I have taken since I got the new phone but those that were transferred from my old phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) by an agent in the store where I bought it. The photos appear in an album called 'sii pics', presumably created by the agent, but there appears to be no option to delete them: there is no trash can icon, no delete button and the album doesn't appear in iTunes either. I have posted this on my phone carrier's community support website but they couldn't come up with an answer. Anyone here have any ideas? Thanks.

If the photos came to the new iPhone after being synced in iTunes to a computer, then you will need to uncheck photos in iTunes for that new iPhone and sync/Apply the changes.
If these photos are listed in the My Photo Stream on the new device, its becasue both phones are using the same Apple ID in Settings > iCloud.
If you want to use the same account, everything will continue to sync from Settings > iCloud that is turned on, turn off Photos in there to stop uploading photos to My Photo Stream, or Delete Account and either don't use iCloud or set it up with your own account/email address.

I have photos on my ipad that I think were imported from my laptop when syncing thru I Tunes
How to delete them from my photos in I Pad?

If photos were synced from your computer then they can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select them from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from another computer or SD card?

If they were synced from a computer then you can't delete them directly in the Photos app on your iPad, you will have to connect your iPad to your computer and use the iPad's Photos tab in your computer's iTunes to change your photo sync selection to exclude them
If the photos were copied onto the iPad from an SD card via the camera connection kit then you should be able to delete them in the Photos app e.g. via the Select button top right if viewing the photos in thumbnail view in Photos.

  • HT1766 How do you back up or save videos that were imported from another source

I'm having battery issues with my iPhone 5 (6.1.3), and therefore need to back up as much data etc. as I can. I imported several videos from my previous blackberry phone, which are stored in the video folder on the iPhone however I don't appear to be able save these on to my laptop and they aren't included on iCloud or iTunes?

I am sorry to be so rude but if you work for APPLE how can you be ignorant about its products. So I guess I will have to be snotty and rude and give you an education on products you should already be aware of. NO ORIGINAL iPads (meaning iPad1) CAME WITH A STILL CAMERA OR VIDEO CAMERA. THERE IS NO WAY PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO ORIGINATE PHOTOS OR VIDEO WITH THIS DEVICE!!!! ALL THE PHOTOS WERE DOWNLOADED OVER THE WIFI FROM THE INTERNET!!!! Why can I only back up 500 pictures from the internet and not all 5700 photos and videos from the internet? if You can not answer this then help me get my wifi to work with some software fix. I cannot get on the internet because it rejects the password which I know it is right because all other 6 devices still work on the wifi. I cannot change the wifi because it is provided by property managment company. And, as I stated, all my other non-apple products work on the wifi just not the iPad.

There is NO other way to get photos off your phone, that were synced to your phone, other than through the iTunes sync process. Just make sure there are no checks, in any boxes, for any photos, that you do not want on your phone.

You need to do it through iTunes, by unsyncing them
Wtih  your iPhone connected, open iTunes on your computer, and click on your iPhone's name.
This should bring up the Overview Page, then click on the Photos Tab.
From their uncheck the folders that have the images you want top remove from your phone. Then sync the phone. itunes will remove the pictures during the sync process.

  • How do I delete photos on my iPhone that were transferred from iPhoto to my phone?

I recently transfered most of my photos from my iphone to iphoto on my macbook. A couple of days later I transfered some of them back onto my iphone, but now when i look at them on my iphone there is no way to delete them there. Ive tried everything but nothing works. I simply cannot delete photos on my iphone that were transfered there from iphoto.
I thought apple was supposed to make things easier, but apparently not.

Correct. You need to Un-sync them using your Computer.
Basically do the opposite of what you did to get them on your Device.

  • How do i delete a thousand pictures from my ipad that were imported from CF card?

I carried my ipad on trip instead of my laptop, used the ipad to store photos as i filled up my camera's cards.  worked well.  have copied them all the my HD and an external back-up drive.  but, there's seems to be no way to bulk delete all those photos (45GB worth) from the ipad.  i tried creating an album, putting all the photos in there and deleting the album... doesn't delete the photos, just to pointers to them for that album.  The only way it seems to be able to delete is one picture at a time, and there's over 2800 pics.. I've tried unchecking all the 'synch' folder in Iphoto but that doesn't removed the ones on the ipad that were imported there w/o using Iphoto... i've added and updated a lot of things to my ipad since i took those pics and don't want to do a restore. (which would also mean revert to IOS4)  Any suggestions would be most welcome
    TIA

  • How do you delete photos from iPhone that were uploaded from computer?

I just activated my iPhone. I selected the option to upload a photo album (that contained almost 200 pictures) to the iPhone. I thought I would be able to keep certain pictures and delete the ones that I don't want afterwards. But I can't figure it out. Please tell me there's a way. I would like to either delete some photos, or the entire album if need be because its taking up a lot of storage. Please help. Thanks.
    iPhone   Windows XP

I'm posting this as a summary because the answers are in the above comments.
    1. Make a folder and put only the photos you want on your iPhone
    2. Set that folder to sync in iTunes
    3. If you want to remove one or more photo, simply remove the photo(s) from the folder and sync.
This is far less elegant than if you had some sort of photo album software that iTunes worked with. I think I read the Apple site listed Adobe photo album. If that is anything like iPhoto, you should be able to create multiple albums and sync those to your iPhone. As Jim suggested, I already created an iPhone wallpapers album and whenever I want to switch the wallpaper, I simply pick a photo from that album (they are all 320x480).
This same concept can then apply to nearly everything else that you sync.

  • How do i delete photos from my iPad that were imported from a camera

On a recent vacation, I backed up some 1,100 photos onto my iPad each day.  Now that I'm home, I've imported the photos into Aperture (or iPhoto) from the camera and no longer need the photos on the iPad.
I can't find a way to delete them except:
    one-by-one.  VERY time consuming
importing them into a photo app again, selecting remove photos, then deleting the new redundant photos from the phot app
There must be a better way...

  • I am sorry but I don't understand how to delete photos from my Iphone that were sys from a computer.

I just don't understand how to delete photos from my Iphone placed there by Syc.

Well, if they were synced fomr a computer then the iPhone says the computer "owns" them for instructional purposes.  You have two options.
    1) Plug your iPhone up to any computer with iTunes.  You can get itunes at www.itunes.com  Then tell it to sync photos, but then select no photos or an empty folder.  This will override what the previous computer put on your iPhone.
    2) Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings and say goodbye to everything including those synced photos.  If you make a quick backup first in iCloud (be sure it finishes) then you can restore form your iCloud backup via Wifi and those synced photos wont be there.  How to backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
