Hi,
how should i delete a product? what all i should consider before deleting a product? is it advisable to delete products from master data?

Products can be archived and hence deleted. The transaction for archiving is SARA. You can also refer the link

Delete Production Version - Error

When I try to delete the production version, System wont allow to delete it and following message log is created -
Argument not contained in table T437s
Deleting Production Version 0001 for material XXXXXXXXXX is not possible
I checked table T437s and there is not entry for that matierla and plant combination. Also there is NO PCC created yet

Delete Product in BW Master data (very low performance)

On BW Production,We want to delete wrong product in BW so we use standard
function to delete product but it takes long time to delete that.So we
want some program to delete product for faster than standard
function. Product Infoobject is 0CRM_PROD in BW.We want this program for
test in Development Server and QA Server to test but it's urgently in
Production Server.
In Standard Program to delete Product data in 0CRM_PROD we use via
1. go to 0CRM_PROD Infoobject
2. Right Click and go to maintain Master data
3. Search and Select wrong data to delete
4. Click Delete button
8. Click Save button
9. It will display message and then click With SID Button
10.Waiting it complete.
We select wrong data in 300 records and it take time 4 hrs which it takes long time. so Please find program for help us to delete data.

Check if the function module RSDMD_DEL_MASTER_DATA works out for you.
Couple of import parameters:
I_IOBJNM -
Give infoobject name
I_T_CHAVL---Characteristic values
I_FLG_FORCE_DELETE-- to force delete
Use I_FLG_SIMULATION to simulate first and then delete..
Try writing a ABAP program which can pass those 300 entry values to I_T_CHAVL..
Let us know if it works or not..

Hi,
I want to delete a product from SRM that is replicated from ECC, when I run COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE I am getting error message ' DELETION WITHOUT ARCHIVING IS NOT ALLOWED IN PRODUCTIVE ENVIRONMENT'. Can't I delete product without archiving? Can some help me out on how to archive a product in SRM (infact, I will be archiving abt 50k).

Archiving is a cross application process, hence the procedures remain the same except for the Object and Tables being archived across all areas.

Problems with archiving and deleting products created in CRM

In the process of deleting products it is my understanding that one should first arhive the product.
Reading the SAP help guidelines I was able to determine that there are various steps for accomplishing this, the first of which being Preprocessing.
While carrying out this step an error was found that the product attempted to be archived could not be processed due to the fact that it was still used as a component to an installed base.
However this is not the problem, once the correction was made I attempted again to carry out the preprocessing but I keep getting the message that the product "will not be checked again in archiving until 30.10.2006".
It seems that somehow the system limits the attempts archive products in a limited period of time.
My question here is:
Is there anything I can do to change this? How can I attempt to succesfully preprocess the product without having to wait for date specified by the message?

I was able to delete the product by reading the suggestions on another topic posted. I adhering the solution at the bottom of this post.
However I was still not able to solve the initial problem concerning how to archive the product.

Go to Transaction code: SE11 provide database table as : COMC_PR_TOOL_REG then click on display Goto Utilities Menu choose create entries in Table contents menu.. and provide
Client: your client number
Programme: COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE
User name: u r user name
Exec date: select data
STEP 2
Programe: COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE
Then click on execute or F8
It will ask u your
Product name and type all the data..
deselect check box..

I create a hierarchy and a product, but now I am loading the Customizing object DNL_CUST_PROD1. and it gives an error me by the hierarchy that already exists
I want to delete the hierarchy and make the load again.

Go to CO02- Change production orderin menu choose-Functions--Restrict Processing-Technically Complete
Teco will close the Production order from Logistic point of view , reservation get deleted, capacity requirement also get deleted.
Auto GR can possible through control key with mark as auto GR in work center.

2) Delete Planned Order,
MD16 is the only option to delete planned orders in mass.
During MRP run if you choose - Delete and recreate plan order mode. Automatically the unwanted plan orders
2) Delete Purchase Requisation,
Execute MD04, in that it will display the created PR's
Check in tcode MD62 whether you have any demand for that material which you are getting PRs first delete requirement here/
Then run MRP by tcode MD03 or MD02 giving input of material and plant. In the initial screen of MD03 / MD02, make field planning mode - Delete and recreate planning data
Is that Old PR Firmed.
If yes remove the Firm indicator and Re run the MRP with planning Mode 3.
It removes the PR from EBAN.
Now check in MD04
OR,
Use Mass change transaction code MEMASSRQ or use BAPI (BAPI_REQUISITION_DELETE) to do the same.
Or
Use ME57 with layout ALV, in this also u can delete PR
If you want delete PR manually then
goto ME52N --> enter PR number --> select line item --> click delete button
or
goto ME52N --> enter PR number --> Item --> Tab Quanties/Dates --> set tick mark for closed check box

Hi Rahul,
No you cannot delete customers and products in C4C as it will cause inconsistencies if its linked to any transactions. If products are replicated or created accidentally may be you can try using sdk to remove it from the BO itself, though not recommended.

You can not delete products. However, you can edit a product and you can uncheck the Orderable checkbox so that you do not see that product when you are doing a product lookup.

Solman 7.1 SP10 delete product system in SMSY

Somehow in my Solman 7.1 sp10 a product system is in SMSY and not in LMDB but in this SP I´m unable to delete it using SMSY and as the product system is not in LMDB, I don´t find how to do it.

If it's not associated with LMDB and the data source is SLD or TMS/RFC and the date and time stamp is out-dated, then you can delete the product system in SMSY by switching to Edit mode. If the data source is LMDB, then it needs to be done via LMDB. I hope that helps to address the issue. If not please open a message with SV-SMG-SYS.

For deployment I have followed the document provided, which is available on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/html/installing.integration.v2.html
Our application running on mid tier 904_j2ee 9.0.4 at port 80, and infra also running on port 80. URL of my site is www.icai.org which is deployed under mid tier.I have deployed discussion forum in 904_j2ee/j2ee/OC4J_Portal.
Thease are the information about the deployed discussion forum.
Application Version 9.0.4.0.99
Database Version as follows:
Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
CORE 9.0.1.2.0 Production
TNS for Linux: Version 9.0.1.4.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 9.0.1.5.0 - Production
After deployment, I have registered the provider, and attached this to portal page. Till this stage its working fine. Now Discussion Forum page is appearing, and I am able to add NEW PRODUCT. But when I click to NEW FORUM link or delete the PRODUCT i get following error.
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.icai.org/portal/page?
The following error was encountered:
Access Denied.
Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.
I am not able to find the error please suggest me as this is very urgent for me.
