Deleting - reinstalling purchased apps– cost?

Hi all,
It seems there are several ways to iOS app from the iPhone or the iPad including from iTunes...
None of the techniques that I saw discussed the cost apps....
So if I had purchased an app - then delete that app from iTunes or through the IOS device - what happens if I later want to reinstall it? Will the app store somehow remember that I already bought it even though I deleted it and do not have to pay for again– or will I have to pay for it again?

You can see a list of all the apps that you purchased by going tot he AppStore . Select "Updates" and the top of the screen will have a link to your list of purchased apps.
In the app store, if you look at an app that you've already purchased, it will show either OPEN if its on your device, or a cloud icon, which means you can download it from your cloud storage.
Your app store account has a record of all purchases with prices. You can get here by using the "account" quick link on the iTunes App on your mac. I do not know how to access this with an iPhone, though.

There is nothing that you can do to get rid of the balance on your own. Contact iTunes Store Support and seek their assistance. I believe that they can reset your balance for you.

I can't even find the app with another app the developers created for that exact purpose! ;-) However, the App Store still thinks it's installed. That something is "installed" seems almost irrelevant So what? Why should that prevent its being downloaded again by the same person/computer?
If an app becomes corrupted, it may or may not corrupt whatever it is that the App Store uses to verify it was/is installed. I'm beginning to think that the only thing the Store really knows is that a certain user-name and Apple ID combination actually downloaded something. Whether it got installed correctly is not even know by the Store. All it really knows is that the download was complete.
Even Lion has a "Reciepts" folder, it's in the boot drive Libbrary. However, it appears to have fewer ".pkg" files as in previous versions of the OS. Instead, there is a "InstallHistory.plist" That file is a simple XML file listing (amongother items) the date, diaplyName, displayVersion, packageIdentifiers and processName for every installed app. All that data is in a <dict></dict> group. There's really nothing else in there and I may copy the current one and edit out the reference to the app I'm trying to re-download. At least that may indicate what the App Store looks at to decide what's "Installed" whether any scraps of the aps files are on the drive or not! If this works, I'll create a new thread about it as well as post back here.

If the apps are in iTunes on your computer now, just resync them. Otherwise, you can re-download an app without charge. See:

Once you get your apps downloaded again, be sure to sync them to your computer and make a backup of them. That way you don't have to download again, and you're protected in case the app is for some reason ever removed from the iTunes Store.

Filters for and deleting my purchased apps in iTunes?

Does the (new/lat)est iTunes have filters for purchased apps? Let's say, I only want to show GAMES only. I have like hundreds of purchased apps in my collections?
Also, is there a way to delete purchased apps in the list? I can delete from iDevices and my computers, but I don't want to see them anymore in the purchased list.

Delete/reinstall Contacts app?

About a month after I got my Passport, I noticed that I was no longer able to do anything with my Contacts. I deleted all the contacts accounts, but the contact list remained unchanged. I think it might be related to LinkedIn, but I don't have any hard evidence.
Is there a way that I can delete and reinstall the Contacts app? Or maybe just a way to get the device to rebuild its contacts database? I cannot do any of the following:
- add a contact
- delete a contact
- edit a contact
- update contact links
- search for a contact
- have phone calls show contact info instead of phone number
Is there anything else I can do to debug this issue? I don't know how to decrypt the logs that this device saves when I turn logging on.

It's hard to tell what you have going on with out actually seeing the device and the settings.
But one thing I would start with would be to get rid of LinkedIn if you have any feelings that's what is causing it.
Second is it almost seems that you have your contacts located on something else other than the device and that information is write protected. And it is also coded differently which might explain the contacts information popping up instead of the actual number.
Other recommendations is to check out the settings for contacts. And make sure the contacts have been properly pulled onto the device. And that you have proper accounts turned on for where you want the contacts to be coming from.
Is it possible you have the contacts on the SIM card and the card has been secured with a password-protect?
Like I first stated..... it's hard to tell with out being there.
