Deleting RFC Trace

Hi experts,
does anyone know, how I can delete RFC-Trace files (dev_rfc...) particulary?
I don't like to delete the whole trace like with TA RSRFCTRC.
And also I don't would like to delete them via OS.
Is there no function like ST11 for workproces-logs (they can be deleted from ST11, dev_rfcs not)?
Thx in advance for any tip.

thx for the fast answers.
However, this is the same like Ta RSRFCTRC.
So I only can delete all rfc trace files.
Isn't there a possibility to delete the files singular?
thx

  • RFC Trace in SAP R/3

    Hello everybody,
I would like to know how to log a RFC Call on SAP R/3 and the data flow from a RFC.
    Thanks for your helps,

Use t.code ST01 to activate RFC trace.
Use t.code ST11 to list the file of the trace. The file name should start with dev_rfc . ST11 is sorted by date so double click on the latest changed dev_rfc file.
Here where it gets kind of ugly.
Look for string ' **** Trace file opened at '
A few lines below that you'll find the data stream that was passed to and from SAP via a RFC. The human readable data is on the right side looking like this.

  • Deleting default trace file in java

    Hello all,
Whats the best way to automatically delete default trace file in java instance? I want to delete these files lets say every week or 2 wkkds,Is there any type of configuration that can be done through NWA or OS...? or do i have to write some scripts? Please advice.

    Perfect.
When set to 10, 0 -->9 are cyclic files. Regarding archiving, yes this is possible. Apart from defaulttrace files you can also archive other java log files (system, network, security etc). The configuration procedure is explained :-
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/48/2edfd5bd3e0d4a81b90325fe195a70/frameset.htm
Once the 10th trace file(i.e.defaultrace9) is full, all the trace files (from defaulttrace0-defaultrace9) are zipped to a single file. The file compression ratio is extremely good.
Unfortunately there is no automated mechanism to clear off the archived files. This needs manual intervention(regular cleanup, script etc).
The archived log files may also be viewed for analysis from NWA.
While estimating the size for each defaulttrace consider  three factors  i) System load ii) Number of defaulttrace files.
    iii) Retention days(without archiving)
Ex: System load as observed :
Say the trace file size is 10MB and 6 trace files get written in 4 hours of peak time and 1 trace files is written for 4 hours during non-peak time .Assuming 8 hours of peak business hours and rest all non-working hours.
No of files generated is 62 + 14 = 16 files of 10 MB each are generated per week day
If the defaulttrace file  count is set to 16, you can retain one days' logs . Say you wish to retain the same with less number of files (i.e. 8) you would have to increase the file size to 20 MB. Also will have to look at file system space availability.
CAUTION: For a file system occupancy estimate, you will have to also consider as to how many Server nodes are
configured as each node has its own log area !
For this you need to observe the pattern as to how many files are being written then estimate the size and count
    cheers !

  • MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more...

    Ingo,
I am getting below error message in BO Test environment when I refresh WebI document.
MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details
It was working when we migrated the objects initially. Subsequently when we try to refresh WebI document we are getting the above error message. It still works in BO Dev environment and the no of records are the same in Dev and Test.
I am able run the underlying BEx query in SAP BW Test environment and it does return data.
I checked ST22 and SM21 log, but no details there.
Is it related to Authorization on the Universe or Bex Query?
We are in the middle of UAT and not able to move forward. I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Thanks
    Ram

    Ingo,
I ran the zip file and added the required entries to registry.
And then I tried to reproduce the error, but the files are not generated instead I noticeed below error message on the server:
The description for Event ID ( 7939 ) in Source ( Crystal OLAP Client ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Registry Access Error: , [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\MDA\Log\Modules: The system cannot find the file specified..
Does tha t mean we do not have permissons to read the registry?
I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to delete RFC destination during runtime

    Hi Experts,
I need to delete the RFC destination (created via SM59) during runtime. Which API can I use to do so?
    Thanks & Best Regards, Johnney.

Do delete different type of RFC destination at runtime , you can use these FM on the basis of its type:
    1. To Read Type of RFC Destination use
                    RFC_READ_DESTINATION_TYPE
    2. To Delete RFC Destination
                   RFC_MODIFY_ARFC_PARAMETERS
                   RFC_MODIFY_HTTP_DEST_TO_EXT
                   RFC_MODIFY_HTTP_DEST_TO_R3
                   RFC_MODIFY_L_DESTINATION                - Read Documentation
                   RFC_MODIFY_R3_DESTINATION             - Read Documentation
                   RFC_MODIFY_TCPIP_DESTINATION        - Read Documentation

  • Deleting RFC classes from model

    Hi,
I need to delete RFC classes from a model. The model is used in a different DC and I wouldn't like to remove all the references to the model as the risk to mess everything up seems high.
However my RFC classes are never used, I would like to delete just them all, but the delete context menu item is disabled.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks, points will be awarded
    Vincenzo

    Hi,
One of the possibility I see is, double click on the model class and in properties pane check the path and physically remove the class from file system level. But try this on a sample project and see if there are no build errors. I don't think just leaving the model class like that will  make any difference in performance.

  • How to display properly the SM59 RFC Trace

    Hello,
I would like to see what are the parameter values of called RFC functions via the RFC trace I have activated via transaction SM59 (I am NOT talking of ST05).
The problem is that we get a kind of hexadecimal output (the RFC format I imagine).
I would like the parameter values to be displayed properly.
I don't have any other solution because I have to ask somebody by phone who is quite novice.
Did someone already try to do that? (have a program?)
    Thx a lot

  • RFC trace with active filter...

    Hi All,
I need to activate RFC trace for a particular RFC connection with a particular user name.
If I activate this trace from st05, what are things that i need to take care before & after activating trace, ex: Space related issues, etc...
Plz share ur experience & thoughts.
    Regards
    Srinivas K

It depends on what all that user is doing and how long you want to keep the trace active.  If it is a single user who will hit the RFC connection one time, then it is probably no big deal to just run it on the fly.  If it is a system user that multiple external programs use heavily throughout the day, you may want to adjust the following parameters accordingly:
    rstr/max_files
    rstr/max_diskspace

  • RFC Trace not functioning

    Hi Gurus,
I am facing an issue in accessing RFC Trace in Nakisa STVN admin console for Employees. I click on RFC Trace (in production) and nothing happens. all other nodes function normally.
    Kindly help!
    Cheers..

Unfortunately I have had instances with similar issues before - I was hoping you wouldn't have quite the same.
For example yesterday I was working on a client where I could access the disabled listings in OrgChart AdminConsole, but not the enabled ones.  In that case I could amend the XML to meet the requirements, but obviously the RFC trace is a bit more of an issue.  I've certainly also seen this occur for the log manager as well which is frustrating when you want to roll the log.
I think you have a few options available for consideration:
Restart the application in NetWeaver and see if that makes any difference.
Report the issue via OSS and see if you can be offered any solution.
Last but not least a heavy-weight approach - backup your configuration, undeploy and redeploy the product then reimport your configuration.
    Regards,
    Stephen.

    Hello Sandeep
This error is fixed in note #1293582 SysLog: Termination DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND in background (7.10 SP08). There is also a workaround mentioned in the note, if this is required.

  • Delete RFC from a model

    Hi all,
I have a Web Dynpro project which contains a model with several RFCs.
I want to delete one of the RFCs in the model.
I deleted it from the context of the controller/view, but the RFC's classes still exist.
I tried to reimport the model without this RFC but the classes are still there.
What is the procedure for removing RFC from a model?

  • How to interpret RFC trace in ST05: Objects column

    Dear all,
I recorded trace for a call of RFC enabled function module in ABAP NetWeaver from external JAVA app in TA ST05.
Here how does it look like:
I'm struggling to interpret it at the moment. My main issue is column called Objects. What is meaning of this column?
    Thanks,
    m./

I figured this out. The column Objects represents remote computer (hostname) which was used to make RFC call to SAP.

  • How to delete RFC queue in SM58?

    [internal code: E60063TWAN]
Is there a solution (ABAP) to quickly delete records from the RFC queue?
From time to time we experience problems that cause the RFC queue to freeze (on an SQL deadlock). Strange then is that all jobs that do run are all located on one of the available servers (central instance). Our 2 other application servers remain idle in this case.
We have no solution at this time for this problem. Only thing we can do is to stop the dataload releated to the locked RFC entries. Next we must delete all the RFC entries manually (hundreds). This must be done 1 by 1.

Take the help of abaper / basis and dig to the bottom of the issue and see what is causing this.
I guess if it is happening every day we have fix this at the source.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Ravi.
