Deleting ringtones: GarageBand 2.0.1

I cannot delete ringtones from my 5s created by GarageBand 2.0.1. Is there a way? I use itunes via a windows 7 machine.

You need GarageBand 2.0 to upgrade to 2.0.1
This version can be had in the iLife 05 set, which is well worth the investment. GarageBand 2 is a fantastic upgrade.

  • Delete ringtones

I am attempting to delete ringtones that iTunes lost when I migrated to my new mac.  Each time I sync my iPhone, I get the warning that the ringtones can't be found.  How can I just delete those so I can start using my new ones?
    Thanks,
    Lawrence

Nevermind!  I'm an idiot.  I found it as it's own section below "Music" in the library on the left-hand pane of iTunes.  It really should have been obvious, but I had to make that a lot harder.

  • How to delete shared garageband demo songs?

    Hello there,
I tried to delete the "GarageBand demos songs" located at the users/shared folder but then I can't empty the trash and they're still there.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.
    Julieta

    Hi, Julieta
You're most welcome. Thanks for posting back and letting me know. Glad to help.
The full permissions for the /Users/Shared directory are:
    Owner: system
    Access: Read & Write
    Group: wheel
    Access: Read & Write
    Others: Access: Read & Write
Hence anyone (or any application) can write to that folder, which is its intent: sort of a "Commons" where any user can leave a file for access by any other user on the Mac.
The GB files may have simply been seen as being "in use" by another process, even though GB was not running, perhaps even GB itself. I've seen this happen with Preview from time to time: view a file in Preview, close (Command-W) the Preview window, trash the file, empty the Trash, the file you were viewing won't empty because it is "in use." If one Quits (Command-Q) Preview, the Trash can be emptied. I've reported a bug on the Preview example.
One can determine the process that is considered to have the file "in use" as follows:
    1. Open the Trash
    2. Launch Terminal, located in the Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities folder.
    3. Position the Terminal and Trash windows so they do not overlap.
    4. At the Terminal prompt, type lsof followed by a single space, but do not press Return yet.
    5. Drag and drop the file cited in the alert dialog from the Trash to the Terminal window. The path to the file appears after the command typed in step 4.
    6. Press Return. You will receive output in Terminal listing the file you dropped on the Terminal window in step 5. The process or application that is considered to have the file "in use" is listed under the column labeled COMMAND. Quit that application or, using Activity Monitor, terminate that process.
    Good luck!

  • How do I delete ringtones on my iPhone 5 that I created from songs in my iTunes music library?

I created several ringtones for my iPhone 5 from songs in my iTunes music library but they are only 1 second long.  I need to delete them and recreated them so they are 30 seconds long.  How do I remove them from my iPhone and iTunes?

No -- an iTunes sync has no effect on photos in the Camera Roll; each time you sync using iTunes it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes setting/selections.

  • How do I retrieve my deleted ringtones?

I deleted my ringtones from itunes but when I received the question "send to recycle bin or keep" I hit keep.  How do I retrieve them now?

There is no way to get them back. Without a backup or without having imported the photos to your computer, they no longer exist. They are gone now.

  • IMovie 11' keeps audio I deleted in GarageBand Movie Track, How do I get rid of it?!

    Hey all,
Here is what I did excatly . . . Operating a Mac Book Pro 2013, OS 10.9.1 Maverick
I recorded a guitar recital with an HD camera that picked up sound. I simultaneasly recorded the recital with nice mics straight into GarageBand. I imported the video into Garageband and DELETED the audio that imported with the movie (Movie Track in Garageband) and replaced it with the audio I recorded straight into Garage Band. I synced up the audio with the movie and voila, I exported it as a Quicktime Movie to then import into iMovie 11'. The Quicktime Movie I export from GarageBand sounds exactly right, the oringinal audio is gone and is perfectly replaced by the recorded audio.
Before iMovie 11' I would import it in and cut up the event to make into smaller projects of each student performing and share it with their parents. In iMovie 11' the ORIGINAL sound imports along with the GarageBand tracks. Why is it doing this?! Please help if you can

You cannot edit clips in Events in iMovie 10, only clips in project timelines.  If you want to split long clips you have to do it before importing, for example uing Quicktime 10 or 7.
I don't know exactly what Garage Band does when you substitute audio track but evidently the original audio is still present.  I would deal with this within iMovie.  Import the video (after splitting into pieces if necessary) and import the sound track you recorded that you want to use.  Put the video into a project timeline.   Then put the audio track you want below the clip so you have two audio tracks.  Use the old audio to help with synchronisation (comparing the waveforms).  When this is done detach the old audio from the clip and trash it.   Voila!
    Geoff.

  • Deleted ringtones still on phone

I recently deleted a few ringtones from my iTunes library and from my computer. When I went to sync my tones the ringtones I deleted are still there on my phone. I tried checking and unchecking ringtones and re-syncing but nothing is working.
I have an iPhone 4 and it is updated to iOS5.1.1.

If you don't want to go through the whole restoring process, I think I've found a simpiler way to delete your tones from your library. While your iPhone is attached, go to the homepage of your itunes library in "Albums" view. Looks like this:
-Then, in the left hand corner, tap the "Music" tab.
-The drop down menu will fall down, and then you will select the "Tones" button.
-And from that screen you will be able to delete, rename, & customize your tones anyway you like! =]
    Hopefully this helps!!

  • How can i delete ringtone i create it by AnyRing from my iphone ?

Please i need help with that

I have the same problem! I can't find anything on the web about how to remove those ringtones. I have purchased ringtones from itunes and those show when I go to settings>sounds> I see the ringtones that I purchased from itunes above the default ringtones. There is a LINE that separates the purchased ones from the default ones. The problem here is the ringtones created using AnyRing are under the line along with the default ringtones. I can't seem to delete em! I went into iFile and deleted anything that was linked to AnyRing, but that did not resolve my problem :/

  • How to delete "Shared Garageband Settings" & "My Garageband Settings" in Logic's library?

    Hey guys,
Does anybody out there know how to delete the "Shared Garageband Settings" & "My Garageband Settings" in the library tab? Basically, I just bought Logic Pro and all it's additional content and there's two folders (read above) which have one or two presets inside them which I know I'll never use. Does anybody what files / folders I'll need to delete?
    Cheers,
    Sid

Are the printer names longer than 30 characters? If so, make sure they are different within the first 30 characters. You should be able to rename your local printer queue without changing the name of the networked printer. Control Panels, Printers and Devices, select your printer, and right-click to "Rename".

  • Don't have the permission to delete ringtones

    Hi all,
I discovered yesterday that I couldn't delete the ringtones on my iphone. As you see in the screencaption of my itunes (Dutch version), I don't have the permission to delete my synced ringtones on my iphone. a while ago I could manually add ringtones to my iphone without the ringtone sync function on the itunes, but right now I can only add a ringtone and not delete it. i already tried a clean restored iphone, it's not a problem everything works fine, I mean the manually add and remove ringtones.
    can someone help please?

    Hi Linc,
    Thanks for replying so quickly.
I actually figured out what was wrong and I feel so foolish not for looking here first. But the folders themselves were not locked, it was each individual song that was. So all I did was open up the folder and the following sub-folders to reveal the songs. I then would right click on each song > get info > and then the locked button at the top would be highlighted in blue. All I had to do was click the button, and poof the song was unlocked and subsequently the entire folder was unlocked, then I could delete the whole thing. I had to do this about 150 times for each song hahaha but it all worked out.
    Thanks again for your time

  • Logic gets NO ringtones, Garageband DOES

You can now make ringtones in Garageband. But not in Logic??? Does this make sense?
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307108

Perhaps it'll come in an update for anyone dying to make a ringtone. Otherwise, what is GB like a $1.50 or something? Splurge for the holidays and go nuts with the ring tones!

  • Cannot delete ringtones

I have 6 ringtones on my Mac that I want to sync to my iPod touch. I can sync them over fine, but there is a problem on the iPod. 4 ringtones are there that do the following:
-Do not copy into iTunes when syncing
-Do not appear in iTunes after syncing
-Do not appear under my iPod in iTunes (under Devices)
And yet, they still appear on my iPod when I look at Settings > Sounds > Ringtone. They appear there and nowhere else. How can I delete them?

I solved this problem. Just restore the device and the invisible ringtones will be gone.
Don't be afraid to restore, you get all your data back as if it never even happened!

  • Deleted ringtones keep showing up under my device in iTunes

For the past few months, there are 3 ringtones that I purchased on my iPhone, but later deleted, that keep showing back up under my device in iTunes.  They are greyed out and won't transfer to iTunes, but also keep coming back after I re-delete.  How do I either prevent them from showing up again or just get them to transfer over to iTunes and be done with it?  I know this sounds really convoluted, but it's the best way I know how to describe it.  I manually manage my music, video and ringtones, so I don't know why they keep trying to sync over.  I really don't want to check the sync ringtones box because it will them remove all of my music and video and try to sync all of those from my itunes as well.  My computer is a Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

I just posted this problem as well. I can not remove the books on my Iphone 5 either.

  • Deleting old Garageband versions while maintaining current version

I have both GB 10 and 6 installed in my iMac 2013.
Will deleting 6.05 compromise the current 10.0.3 version?
Do not see a un-install for GB 6.05.
Is it as simple as dragging to the trash?
Are there other issues I should be concerned with?

Why do you want to uninstall GarageBand 6.0.5? It is only 375 MB large and you can use both versions without interfering.
Yes, you can uninstall it - simply move the GarageBand 6.0.5 application to the Trash, but you will not gain much and lose a lot. You are the first here to ask how to get rid of it. All others asked because they wanted it back, but that is not easy, after GB10 has been released.
GarageBand 10 does not support podcasts, there is no Magic GarageBand, there are no sound effect instruments to create samplers, and you cannot combine  the effects freely. You may want to create projects in GarageBand 6.0.5, to set up effects in a way, that is not possible in GarageBand 10. Or you may want to edit older projects, that used sound effect instruments, for example.
If you uninstall GarageBand 6.0.5, don't delete the instrument library, Learn to Play folders, and other library files. You can use these instruments with GarageBand 10.  Just trash the application and maybe the Magic GarageBand files:  /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Magic GarageBand/
