Deleting "sensitive" web-pages

Hi, after visiting sensitive sites, I always do Safari>Reset Safari. Does this clear ALL traces of those sites from my computer? Are there any other files, or items outside of Safari to clear?

Yes, it deletes all the references to those sites in Safari (History, Cache, Cookies, etc.).
It will not hide other traces such as files opened on your computer. Those are stored in other places.
But, if you want to prevent Safari from recording your steps in the first-place, then go to the same menu and enable "Private Browsing". It will then let you browse the Internet without storing sites in your cache, recording cookies, etc.

Help deleting saved web pages

        I am new to dreamweaver cs5 and I am working from a book Adobe Dreamweaver Classroom in a Book.
       Being new to Dreamweaver and just having fun I have created and saved 4 basic web pages that are appearing in the dreamweaver Welcome screen in the Open a Recent Item drop down list. Being new to this trial and error I would like to delete them and start fresh. Searching for hours on line and in dreamweaver's help section I can't find what I am looking for. The book comes with a dvd with instructional lessons I have saved on to c drive where I do my work and save back on to c drive. Please, is there a way to delete these web pages. Thank you Jon.

When trying to cler all browsing history at the location bar, although I follow the instructions to 'ctrl, shift, delete, some web pages remain stuck. Even if I highlight them one at a time and hit delete, they remain. What can I do to eliminate them?

If you visit a bookmarked site then that site will become a history item and shows as such in the location bar drop down list.

Can you delete previous web pages as you can with the iPhone?

I notice that the iPad retains previous web pages and that I am not able to delete them as I can on the iPhone. Do these pages automatically delete themselves?

Deleting past web pages in Safari Windows

I have encountered a problem with Safari 3.0.2 on Windows.
I have deleted my history in Safari, but whenever I try to type in a web page, google for example, as soon as I hit "G" it comes up with a list of past web pages I have been on beginning with a "G". I am wondering how I delete all of these. If you have information on how to delete these completely from my computer as well it would be much appreciated.

Yes, that is a tricky problem. Here is the solution. Do not have any bookmarks because that is what shows up there after you delete the history.

I recently downloaded a web page but then i deleted history which deleted the web page. there is still a short cut to it but says file does not exist. can i retrieve this as web page no longer exixts

as the question states i downloaded a web page but before i put it on a memory stick i changed the options on my firefox and the file is no longer there.
there is a shortcut in the 'recently changed' folder in windows explorer but when i click on it it says the file has moved or no longer exists.
Is there anyway to retrieve this as the web page no longer exists

I visited the site imdb.com and now there is a little imdb icon on one of my pages
and I just really want it off of there. Anyone know what I can do?

Delete the web page where it is published.
If it is published to MobileMe, then you need to log into MobileMe and go to your iDisk or mount it on your desktop and then delete it from your Web/sites folder.
If you have published to a server, then you'll need to download Cyberduck, Filezilla or Transmit - all dedicated ftp programmes to connect with your host/server and then delete your old files from the server.
It really is not hard.

Deleting web pages from the launcher

is there a way to delete any web pages you've placed in the launched? for the life of me i can't figure out out to remove these from my launcher! thanks in advance.

Able to see web page using back button even after logout

Hi,
I have created a web application using creator.
I have disabled caching by putting following meta tags inside the <ui:head> tag to prevent caching of the sensitive web pages.

But after logout when the user clicks on the back button the user is still able to see the previous page visited. Is there any work around for this? I am using firefox. Have not checked whether this happens in other browsers or not.
Would really appretiate if you help me.

Please, please help find "orphaned" web pages

I have spent the last 4 hours trying to delete "orphaned" web pages. Several years ago I created some web pages using Front Page and then uploaded them to ftpmysite.verizon.net using an FTPClient. Then I dumped Verizon's web suite altogether because it wasn't user friendly. I've kept Verizon long term as my ISP only.
Coming back full circle to Verizon because I need to use the 10 MB of space offered with my monthly DSL. It is in use with the old pages.
The pages DO NOT show up in site builder.
SMARTFTP says user does not exist on the ftpmysite.verizon.net. login and the client times out
SMARTFTP says user does not exist on the ftpmysite.ncnetwork.net login and the client times out
SMARTFTP says user does not exist on the ftpmysite.verizon.net/resxxxxx login and the client times out
SMARTFTP says user does not exist on the ftpmysite.ncnetwork.net resxxx login and the client times out
The same for WinFTP. Same for FTP via My Network places in Windows XP.
MSIE returns Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error with the above urls.
The old site content shows up under the web page usage screen on the DSL Internet page, but it doesn't allow a page delete from that location.
I'm fairly computer savy but I'm ready to rip Verizon a new one because this is insane! Any advice on getting them off the remote server?

I tested the DNS and reset the servers anew. It didn't help.
I then went to my neighbors and used his different ISP with dial-up. Got a 550 Permissions Denied error.
It has to be an issue on Verizon's end.
They have escalated the problem.

I am using Firefox 11 and I am unable to print web pages. I can print PDFs ok. I tried to open the prefs.js file to delete anything that starts with print and I get an error message.

When editing '''prefs.js''' you need to use a simple text editor program. WinXP Notepad messes up the line formatting of prefs.js, so I use Wordpad - but you need to save the edited file in a Text-Only format (Wordpad asks about that when you go to save the edited file). I never used Win7, so I don't know if that version of Notepad messes with the line formatting of prefs.js or not.
Another thing - make sure '''''"Hide extensions for known file types"''''' is de-delected in Windows file / folder options > view -> advanced settings. Otherwise Windows may add a .txt file extension that you won't be able to see, and that will break that file in Firefox. '''prefs.js.txt''' won't be recognized by Firefox, when is expecting to find '''''prefs.js''''' .

How to delete the error message in the Web page Message Monitoring

I'd like to ask a question.If there is error message in the T-code sxmb_moni->Monitor for Processed XML Messages,I can cancel the error message manually and archive the message. After that,I can delete the message from "Monitor for Processed XML Messages".
But after those operation,I find in the web page " Message Monitoring", there are still messages in the "Messages from Component Integration Server and/or Adapter Engine".
How can I delete those message both successful and error.

Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. If that doesn’t work, then in the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash logs related to Safari, WebProcess, or PluginProcess. Select the most recent one of each and post the contents -- the text, please, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.)
