I want to be able to delete my skype account permenantly. Please help me i really want to be able to delete my skype for security reasons.

We here in the Community are not authorized to process account-related service requests. To remove/delete an account, you must contact Skype Customer Service. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Skype is aware of continuing problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and - very important! - choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.

How can I delete SKYPE to GO???? My account has been hacked and a SKYPE to Go account has been set up with I number I am unable to delete. It has proved impossible to contact anyone at SKYPE to inform them of this and to ask for assistance in deleting the account. My credit card has already been debited for calls I have not made. I am just beginning to realise that SKYPE has very little interest in the security of its customers account. I would be really grateful for any help the SKYPE community can give me to delete this SKYPE to GO account. If anyone has contact details for SKYPE that would be much appreciated. Many thanks

Please keep trying to contact Skype Customer Service. I have read that people are experiencing problems reaching them, however try using a different browser, and be on the alert to accept a pop-up dialogue box window that would appear if you are directed to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent.
People are getting through; sometimes is takes more than one or two attempts. Skype is aware of this.

Any attempt to add/delete Skype-to-go number gener...

Please note: I tested two accounts (my own and my wife's), the problems exist with both accounts.
Browsers: Firefox, Chrome (latest version), OS: Windows 7 Home
1 Any attempt to add/delete Skype-to-go number generates error
"Oops, something went wrong...We're having technical problems. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again after a few minutes."
Same error messge displayed when I am trying to by skype number for inbound calls
Sometimes the error is "Application skype-skypetogo not found"
2. Login to Skype account page is very slow (more than 1 min). I tried two accounts

Move to the Trash the Skype.app, if you want to erase every trace of Skype:
Delete the file MacintoshHD/Library/Preferences/com.skype.skype.plist
Delete the file User/Library/Preferences/com.skype.skype.plist
Delete the folder User/Library/Application Support/Skype
Go to -->System Preferences-->Accounts-->Login Items and remove Skype from the list. It would be there if you have enabled Skype to launch when you log in to Mac OS X.
or use something like AppDelete to seek out all the associated files/folders.

i tried manage applications and it doesnt show there,,, i tried running services and it was there initially,, i shut it down,, yet most times when i open my task manager to kill running applications, there it is,,, i want to just plain get rid of it,, any help out there?

Although this thread may be old I think it's quite relevant. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned before in another thread or not I just googled "how to delete skype droid x" and this was at the top of the list.
Besides the fact that it's completely useless for the Droid X. When you're in video mode there is no front facing camera, and if there is mine has never worked. I tried it out of the box to figure out if I wanted it on my phone or not.
When I was in video mode I could see the person on my phone but the camera on the battery side is the image projected to them. So they could watch my feet while I watched them. If there is an option to change camera it was no where I'd consider easy to locate throughout the apps options and settings. It was also when I learned that I really didn't have a choice if I wanted to uninstall it.
I'm sure skype signed some sort of deal with Verizon or maybe even they are some sort of sister company of them. That's super that you want to include this software already loaded on a phone so people have it there and give it a shot. It is a pretty cool concept I will admit. But not everyone wants it. Not everyone wants to have a program constantly running on a phone where battery life is most important. The votes on the Marketplace are split between the 100.000+ votes.
Half were 1 star the other half were 5. So it's safe to say you either love it or hate it. But enough people have spoken in regards to NOT wanting this forced on us. Everyone knows Verizon is the best cell phone provider out there and if they don't agree then quite frankly they are not informed. Being the best also comes with doing what your customers are somewhat demanding.
And that is allow us the option to delete programs we see fit. We pay for the service, we pay for the contracts, we pay for the phones You may knock off a few hundred in the "manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) but we all know you get it back with the mandatory $30.00 data plan on smartphones and minute charges that are considerably one of the highest in the nation. You also have more coverage then anyone. It comes at a price and this is all something we both know about each other and why you are #1.

Hi there,
Is it possible to delete Skype contacts on Ipad for the whole account (used on different devices)?
If I make a change in my skype account on my Ipad will it be changed directly for the rest of my devices/account or just for my Ipad?

thank you for your response! I know this sounds crazy, but I don't have the contacts on my computer - I was, for the first time, inputting them onto my iPad. If that was the only place they were saved, is there any way to restore them? Do you know why this would have happened and/or how I can prevent it from happening in the future? I appreciate any help you can offer...

Delete skype accounts that are no longer in use.

We use skype at our company for communicating with clients. Over the years some of our employees have left but their skype accounts are still searchable. We have had cases where customers are not aware that the employee has left and leave messages on their skype accounts which never get answered. I would like to know how to delete/remove these accounts from the directory so they are no longer searchable.
I have tried the link on the support page but it gives me an error saying that the chat is not available and the only other option is to post here in the forums.
Please help, I have been trying for a month now to get rid of these old accounts.

You are correct; you will need to contact Skype Customer Service in order to remove/disable these old accounts. Deleted Skype account still appearing online to contacts

I went through the process of having my account deleted a few days ago, I can of course no longer log into the account, however contacts of that account are saying that I am now appearing constantly online but set as away.
I'm sure I deleted all personal information from my account, though I know I didn’t delete any contacts. I have spoke with Skype staff via the instant chat box but they are never of much help, they have said that my account will delete itself from my previous contacts contact lists, I thought this wasn’t true?
Has anyone else deleted their account and had this problem? Did you find you started appearing offline once that deletion was completed (takes 30s days)? Thank you!
