  • How to delete someone else's iCloud account on your iPhone without password?

I purchased my old iPhone 4 off a friend when I lost my phone at the time. All of my music and photos on that phone were under her iCloud account.
Now that I have just got a new iPhone 6, when I backed up all of my photos, music etc. onto iTunes and synced up my new phone, it transferred her iCloud account to my new phone. She does not remember her password, and it will not let me delete this account without the password. I have spent hours searching the internet for a solution but have had no luck. Surely someone else has had this happen to them in the past.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hello megneth,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
In order to get an iCloud account signed out of your iPhone, you will need to have the previous owner sign out with their Apple ID login information.  If they do not remember their Apple ID password, then they can reset it by following the directions in the article below.

  • How can I erase someone else's apple ID from y iphone

how can I erase someone elses apple id and password from my iphone?

    Hi achury,
The easiest way to get a previous user's data cleared off of your phone is to go to Settings>General>Reset and click on Reset all Settings. Here is a link that will explain what that will do:

  • When I try to buy or update an app on my ipad, a window comes up asking me for a password using SOMEONE ELSE'S apple ID which prevents me from buying the app. How can I get my ipad toprompt for a password using my own apple ID, like it does w/ itunes

When I try to buy or update apps, myipad asks me for a password using SOMEONE ELSE'S apple ID, which prevents me from buying/updating apps. But when I am buying songs on itunes, the ipad asks me for my password using MY OWN apple ID and everything works fine. HOW DO I GET MY IPAD TO REQUEST MY PASSWORD USING MY OWN apple ID WHEN I AM BUYING OR UPDATING APPS?

The apps you are trying to update were purchased with (and therfore permanently linked to) someone elses Apple ID. If you do not know the password then you need to delete the app and redownload/purchase it with your Apple ID.

  • Why does App Store update ask me for someone else's Apple ID?

I have 14 Apps that have updates available.  I was able to update a few using my Apple ID.  However, the rest all pop up with a message asking for someone else's Apple ID and Password when I click on Update.
I know this person but all the apps were downloaded using my Apple ID so I do not understand why it is asking me for his password and showing me his Apple ID.
I have tried signing off and back on but still get the same results.  This is fairly new problem.  I used to be able to use my own Apple ID to upgrade the apps on my phone.  But not anymore.  I do not have this person's password so I am unable to complete the update.
Any ideas on how to change this behavior?
    Thanks
    Pvtbear

Those apps were apparently purchased on the other person's Apple ID or were transferred to your computer from the other person's computer. Those apps are not registered against your Apple ID. Either you use the Apple ID and password of this other person or you purchase the apps using your Apple ID.
It's simple enough to check your Purchases page in the App Store to see if these apps are listed for you.

  • Someone else's Apple ID

For some reason my phone keeps coming up with someone else's Apple ID when ever I go into iTunes or App Store. I can't seem to stop it, anyone know why it does this and how to stop it.

This means that some of your apps were purchased under a different ID. The only way to get rid of this message is to delete the apps that were purchased under that ID.

  • When updating apps - someone else's Apple ID appears?

When I try to update my apps someone else's Apple ID appears? Obviously I do not know password, have reset the phone, and gone in to settings and it's only my id that's there- how can I get rid of this other Apple ID?
    Thanks in advance

That only happens if the apps were purchased using another ID. All apps are forever tied to the ID used to originally obtain them. The only fix is to delete this content, then re-purchase using your ID.

  • After a reboot my iPhone 6 Plus now has someone else's Apple ID as the login??? I bought the phone 3 months ago brand new!

    The title says it all.
    Some background info:
    1. I purchased the iPhone 6 Plus new in the box at Target on January 10 2015.  The phone has only ever been mine, and it was not a refurbished device.
    2. Absolutely no one else has access to my PC or iTunes, whether it be physical access or knowing my usernames or passwords.
    What happened;
    1. Phone fell out of my hand face down on my patio.  It had the leather Apple case on it.  Picked it up and sure enough the entire front screen was smashed.
    2. Phone responds to touch, but not property.  I contemplate doing a backup and then resetting but I skip that and just do a "erase all content and settings"
    3. Phone reboots and prompts me for this Apple ID (x*****@1*****.com) to log in.
    4. That is NOT my Apple ID, not even close
    5. I have no idea how the strange Apple ID is now embedded in MY phone, I have absolutely no way to access my own phone!
    What I have done:
    1. Called and spoke to several Apple reps; technical, Apple care, customer service, and then finally a senior supervisor named Matt.
    2. Matt spent over an hour on the phone with me discussing this and he decided I should email him my proof of purchase directly through an Apple link that he emailed me.
    3. I scanned every document I had with the receipt, paperwork, IMEI info and sent it over. He reviewed and says he will have to put in a request to do a force unlock which will remove the strange Apple ID and allow me back in
    4. I set up an appointment at the nearest Apple Store to fix the phone. They do not know of the Apple ID issue and I was told they wouldn't be equipped to handle that anyway until the phone would be able to be unlocked.
    5. So now I have to wait for Apple to force unlock my phone before (hopefully) my appointment on Tuesday so I can get in to it and they can fix it
Now from all the people I have talked to and all the Googling I have done I have found no reference to this happening to anyone ever.  The only related incidents like mine is if someone bought the phone through another consumer or sold it online and did not wipe their ID properly.  This however doesnt apply to me since I bought it from Target, unless they sold me some second hand phone.
Any opinions or insights on what it is that has actually happened to my phone from the time it broke and rebooted to magically having someone else's Apple ID as the authentication?
I really hope someone here has some insight.
    Thank you.

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

  • How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id?

How do I remove an app from the update list that is under someone else's apple id? So this way the update always fails because it asks for someone else's password. I don't have the app on my mac, it only appears in the update list. It's just annoying, because the update keeps appearing, and the reminder keeps reminding me that I should install a new update.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • ICloud Backup restoring someone else's Apple ID information.

    Hey guys,
Every time I restore from a particular backup on my iPad, it restores and constantly pops up someone else's Apple ID. I won't specify the ID for security reasons, but I have isolated it to the iCloud backup. I can backup from the iCloud backup in iTunes and restore from that backup with no issues. Of course I know that the backups from iCloud and iTunes are completely separate, but I'm curious as to what might cause this to happen? Might it be pulling the information from the iCloud server farm when restoring my backup, possibly on the same farm as the information for this Apple ID? It has me baffled...
Anyone else experiencing these issues? Either it comes up once, or it shows multiple times. I have some friends who will get multiple different Apple IDs pop up, but more randomly.
Anything helps. The only two relative things I can link between accounts is that we both have Developer accounts. I don't know if this has anything to do with it? No idea.
    Yeti

    *UPDATE*
I have run into other friends who are experiencing similar issues with restoring from backups in iCloud that DO NOT have developer accounts. Does anyone have any insight on what might be causing this? Is there somewhere else I should look?
    Thank you.

Hi Tim, your problem sounds a bit different, if you're not getting the wrong Apple ID thing, it may get more help to post a new query of your own.
